MOULTON -- Funeral for Nina McGregor, 85, of Courtland will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Scotty Letson, the Rev. Buddy Simmons and the Rev. Sam Wallace officiating.

Burial will be in Courtland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. McGregor died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 27, 1915, in Lawrence County to John Muston and Ida Saint Muston. She was a homemaker and a member of Courtland Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew McGregor; two sons, David McGregor of Decatur and Lewis McGregor of Courtland; one daughter, Annie Kate Gower of Leighton; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John McGregor, Greg McGregor, Rickie Harrison, Steve Mitchell, Wayne Loosier and Dan Simmons.

Gussie H. Reed
88, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Gussie H. Reed, 88, of Hartselle will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. David Carroll officiating.

Burial will be in Caddo Cemetery in Lawrence County. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Reed died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Aug. 17, 1912, in Morgan County to James Jasper Hamilton and Etta Reeves Hamilton. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Lansdell of Hartselle, Kathy Branic of Green up, Ky., and Rosemary Louvett of Clayton; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

John 'Johnny Boy' Smith Rowe
79, Wolverine retiree

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for John "Johnny Boy" Smith Rowe, 79, of Falkville will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Lovelace officiating.

Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Rowe died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born June 24, 1921, in Morgan County to Powell C. Rowe and Brenda Smith Rowe. He was a member of Piney Grove Christian Church, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and past director of Community Bank in Falkville. He was retired from farming and from Wolverine Tube Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Rowe; two sons, Don Rowe and Johnny M. Rowe, both of Falkville; two sisters, Jean Tankersley of Hartselle and Doris Lee Seip of Miami; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jason Rowe, John Foote, Wesley Tankersley, Alan Gandy, Joe Ed Tankersley and Tim Gandy.

Memorials may be made to Piney Grove Christian Church.

Ronald Glenn Sanders
52, Marine, Athens Motors employee

ATHENS -- Funeral for Ronald Glenn Sanders, 52, of Athens will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Adams officiating.

Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.

Mr. Sanders died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Feb. 16, 1948, in Decatur to Glenn and Margaret Sanders. He was retired as a master sergeant with 23 years of service in the U.S. Marines. He worked for Athens Motors for 15 years and was employed by Dr. William S. Pennington in Athens. He was a member of Salem Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Ann Sanders; one son, Timothy James Sanders of Athens; one brother, Kenneth Dwight Sanders of Fyffe; and one grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.

Elick Sheronick
75, retired tavern owner

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Elick Sheronick, 75, of Hartselle was to be today at Witzler Shank Funeral Home in Perrysburg, Ohio.

Burial was to be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo, Ohio.

Mr. Sheronick died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a retired tavern owner and World War II veteran. He served in the Intelligence Division in the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces in General Eisenhower's headquarters in England, France and Germany. He was a member of the American Legion, Blinded Veterans Association and Greater Beneficial Union of Pittsburgh. He was the widower of Ilse Sheronick.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen Foster of Hartselle; two brothers, Mike Sheronick and Emett Sheronick, both of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Fatima Heimrich of Toledo; and three grandchildren.

Gladys Elliott Sulcer
87, seamstress, former Whitt's Barbecue employee

ATHENS -- Funeral for Gladys Elliott Sulcer, 87, of Athens will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Tim Keenum and Carl Witty officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sulcer died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Limestone Health Facility. She was born March 7, 1913, in Limestone County. She was a seamstress and a former employee of Whitt's Barbecue in Hartselle. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Union and Sardis Spring Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.

Survivors include two sons, James Robert Sulcer of Athens and Alton Sulcer of Hartselle; three daughters, Bettye Cox of Boca Raton, Fla., Dorothy Jean Hinkle and Judy Grisham, both of Toney; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Sulcer, Jeffery Grisham, Steve Sulcer, Darrell Wilkinson, Mickey Hinkle and Terry Grisham.

Newell Neil Sybert
85, former Austinville resident

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Funeral for Newell Neil Sybert, 85, of North Little Rock, formerly of Austinville, was to be today at 2 p.m. at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel with Walt Hendrickson officiating.

Burial was to be in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Ark.

Mr. Sybert died Dec. 24, 2000. He was born May 25, 1915, to William O. Sybert and Maud Dink Vest Sybert in Austinville, which was annexed into Decatur in 1956. He graduated from North Little Rock High School and served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1938. He served at the Army-Navy Hospital in Hot Springs, Ark., where he obtained the rank of technical sergeant. He continued his service from 1944 through 1946 in New Guinea. Upon returning from the service, he worked for Bracy Home Building and owned Sybert Esso (Exxon) in North Little Rock. Before retiring, he was a salesman for Planters Lumber Co. He was a member of Cresent Masonic Lodge F&AM, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine Temple of Little Rock, Albert Pike Memorial Temple Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Rose City. He was the brother of the late Estell Sybert Howell, Thelma Sybert Klinger and Mildred Dybert Bowen.

Survivors include one brother, Billy Sybert of Dallas; and one sister, Ethelyne Sybert Huston of North Little Rock.

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or to a favorite charity.

Richard L. Thayer
81, retired farmer

HOPE, Ind. -- Funeral arrangements for Richard L. Thayer, 81, of Hope will be announced by Norman Funeral Home in Hope.

Burial will be in Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Mr. Thayer died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, in Columbus, Ind. He was born Sept. 14, 1919, in Hope to Leonard and Sarah Thayer. During World War II he served with the Army Air Corps and was a prisoner of war in Austria for 14 months. He was a farmer, former mayor of Columbus and past sheriff of Bartholomew County.

Survivors include two sons, Gordon M. Thayer of Athens and Timothy Thayer of England; two daughters, Margie Lou Thayer of Hope and Kimberly Stephens of Okinawa, Japan; two brothers, David Thayer and Thomas Thayer, both of Hope; one sister, Mary Alice Cooper of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Lynn Taylor Dupuy
43, Coca-Cola employee

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Funeral for Lynn Taylor Dupuy, 43, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Decatur, was Friday at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East with the Rev. Michael Collins and the Rev. Carol Wynn officiating.

Burial was in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Mrs. Dupuy died Dec. 26, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 31, 1956, in Decatur to Albert Bernard "Barney" Taylor and Ruth Morris Taylor. She was an employee of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. She was the sister of the late Charles Morris and Gary Morris.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Dupuy; two sons, Chris Smith and Mike Smith, both of Baton Rouge; her mother of Baton Rouge; one brother, Richard Taylor of Baton Rouge; and one sister, Toni Shoemaker of Birmingham.

Randall Gaddy

ATHENS -- Funeral arrangements for Randall Gaddy, 43, of Killen, who died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, will be announced by Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.

Lorene A. Humphrey

Funeral for Lorene A. Humphrey, 84, of Decatur will be Thursday at noon at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Franklin Jr. officiating and Sharpley Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Blackwell Cemetery. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Humphrey died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at her home. She was born Nov. 7, 1916, in Morgan County to Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Adkins. She was a member of St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church. She served for many years in her church and community.

Survivors include four sons, the Rev. Floyd Humphrey of Chattanooga, Lorenzo Humphrey of Carson, Calif., and Henry Humphrey and Ivory Humphrey Jr., both of Decatur; two daughters, Geraldine Humphrey of Decatur and Mary Stegall of Atlanta; one brother, Thomas Adkins; one sister, Ruth Barker; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Deacons of the church will be pallbearers.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Johnson died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Aug. 15, 1909, in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., to Joe and Dora Kelly. She was retired from Wayne Farms and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She was the widow of Bill Johnson and the mother of the late Willie Paul Johnson and Lowell Johnson.

Survivors include one son, Bobby Doyle Johnson of Johnson City, Tenn.; three daughters, Peggy Russell, Bettye Duling and Judy Little, all of Decatur; two brothers, Lester Kelly of Yukon, Okla., and Albert Kelly of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; four sisters, Ruth Giles, Neva Gianfagna, Emma Nola Martin, and Barbara Jones, all of Lawrenceburg; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.
