NELLIE GRACE ANDERSON, 77, 349 Franklin St., Oviedo, died Wednesday, Oct. 25. Mrs. Anderson was an agricultural worker. She was born in Thomasville, Ga. She was a member of Antioch Primitive Baptist Church, Oviedo. Survivors: husband, John A.; son, James L. Golden Sr., Winter Park; one grandson; one great-grandson. SIDNEY E. ANDREWS, 90, 101 N. Riverside Drive, New Smyrna Beach, died Friday, Oct. 27. Mr. Andrews was a liaison officer for the city of Atlanta. Born in Knoxville, Tenn., he moved to Central Florida in 1983. He was an Army veteran. Survivor: wife, Martha. Baldwin Brothers Memorial Care Services, New Smyrna Beach.

DONALD LESTER BACKER, 80, Everest Point, Casselberry, died Friday, Oct. 27, of cancer. Mr. Backer was a retired grocery and meat salesman. Born in Chicago, he moved to Central Florida in 1960. He was a member of Hager Scandinavian. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winter Park. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors: wife, Alice M.; sons, John L., Lake Mary, James S., Casselberry; brothers, Harold, Oldsmar, Charles G., Orlando; one granddaughter. Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home-Altamonte Springs Chapel.

OLIVE T. BASS, 72, Carolwood Drive, Fern Park, died Friday, Oct. 27. Mrs. Bass was a homemaker. Born in Palatka, she moved to Central Florida in 1950. She was Episcopalian. Survivors: daughters, Kathy Johnson, Inverness, Karen Florio, Altamonte Springs; sisters, Nancy Dupont, Palatka, Harriet Jenkins, Colorado; stepsister, Julia Brooks, Orlando; five grandchildren. GEORGE M. "SHORTY" BURKETT JR., 71, Carlson Drive, Orlando, died Thursday, Oct. 26. Mr. Burkett was a retired supervisor at The Original Winter Park Telephone Co. Born in Orlando, he was a lifelong resident. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 329 and DeLand Moose Lodge. He was a member of College Park Baptist Church, Orlando. He was a Navy Reserve veteran.
