ALBANY - Dorothy Brock Carter, 74, 812 S. Shadowlawn Drive, died Friday, January 17, 2003 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be Monday, 2 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Chuck Auschwitz officiating.
Born in Decatur County, Mrs. Carter had lived in Albany a number of years and was retired from Sears after 30 years of service. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Carter of Albany; sisters, Doris B. Cumbie of Climax, and Frances B. Walker of Atlanta; brother-in-law, Ralph E. Carter of Morrow; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the residence.

ALBANY - Martha Jordan Harper, 92, of 803 Blaylock St., died Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Palmyra Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Mount Mary Baptist Church in Sasser, with interment following in the church cemetery. The Rev. Gregory Robinson officiating.
Born December 27, 1910 in Calhoun County, Mrs. Harper was a homemaker and a member of Mount Mary Baptist Church. She attended Calhoun County public schools.
Survivors include two sons, Albert Harper Jr. and Bennie Harper, both of Albany; a sister, Golden Creeks of Atlanta; two daughters-in-law, Pauline Harper and Betty Harper, both of Albany; and three grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Richard Gilbert Jenkins Sr.
SYLVESTER - The graveside funeral service of Richard Gilbert Jenkins Sr, 48, of 1826 Porters Corner Road, Sylvester, died Thursday, January 16, 2003, will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at Floral Memory Gardens. The Rev. Elbert Osteen will officiate.
A native and life long resident of Albany, Mr. Jenkins was born to Wilburn Russell Jenkins and Jennie Mae Parker Jenkins on October 6, 1954 and had moved to Worth County eight years ago. He was the owner of Jenkins Building Contractors.
Survivors include his wife, Shirlee Hinson Jenkins, a son, Richard Gilbert Jenkins Jr. and a daughter, Melissa Marie Jenkins, all of Sylvester; three brothers, Gene Russell Jenkins and Ronald Wilson Jenkins, both of Albany, and Robert Allen Jenkins of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Wanda Jenkins Pantone of Albany, and Kathy Levins of Doerun; his mother-in-law, Betty Hinson of Sylvester; a grandson, Richard Gilbert Jenkins III; and a granddaughter, Emily Melaine Jenkins.
The family will receive friends at their residence today (Sunday) from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

T. Howren Norton Sr.
LAKELAND, FL - The Rev. T. Howren Norton Sr., 88, of Lakeland, FL, died Thursday, January 9, 2003, at Grace Health Care following a stroke.
The funeral was Monday, January 13, 2003, at First United Methodist Church in Lakeland, FL.
The Rev. Howren Norton had delivered the word of God to people throughout Florida for more than 60 years. After graduating from Florida Southern College and from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, he became a United Methodist minister in 1938, pastoring in churches throughout the state of Florida. The Rev. Norton made mission trips to Cuba and had enjoyed the new covenant that Florida had made with Cuba in sponsoring churches there.
A fifth generation Methodist Minister, The Rev. Norton continued to bring people to Christ. As recently as this fall, he converted a man to Christianity and baptized him while both were in the nursing home. He was also counseling a couple in the nursing home who wanted to get married.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frances D. Norton; two sons, the Rev. Thomas H. Norton Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL, and John Hendrix Norton of Albany; two daughters, Mauren N. Baker of Snow Hill, NC, and Julia N. Stevens of Plantation, FL; sister, Kathryn N. Williams of Jacksonville, FL; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

ALBANY - Margaret Ann Lumpkin Tyson, 60, of Albany, passed away Saturday morning, January 18, 2003 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hall & Hall Funeral Home, with Bro. Bruce Smith and Bro. Mark Bullock officiating. Interment service will be Tuesday at Shawmut Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama.
Mrs. Tyson was born in West Point, GA, and was formerly employed at Flint River Textiles.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Linda Crews of Albany and Starla and Tommy White of Rock Mills, AL; sons and daughters-in-law, Benjamin and Rhonda Tyson of Albany and Michael and Lisa Tyson of Valley, AL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eldridge and Nonnie Lumpkin of LaGrange, and Duvard and Terri Lumpkin of North Augusta, SC; sisters and brother-in-law, Eva Mae Slay of Notasulga, AL, Betty and Jerry Hunt of Nashville, TN, Mary Lumpkin and Sheila Lumpkin, both of Valley, AL; and 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today (Sunday) from 4 p.m.-7 p.m.

ASHBURN - Services for Tommy C. Hutto, 74, of Sycamore, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ashburn First Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Arabi Cemetery, Arabi, GA. Mr. Hutto died Friday, January 17, 2003 at Tift Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Mr. Hutto was born in Crawford County, Georgia and had resided in Turner County for many years. He was the son of the late William Henry and Melissa Corene Yawn Hutto. He was a member of the Penia Baptist Church in Crisp County and was the owner and operator of Hutto's Shoppe and Wrecker Service.
Survivors include his wife, Jannie Timmons Hutto of Sycamore; a son, Durwood Hutto of Cordele; six daughters, Orene Cameron, Janice Brown and Joyce Webb, all of Sycamore, Merie Adams of Fitzgerald, Cindy Shiver of Cordele and Tommie Jean Stone of Tifton; three brothers, James Hutto of Poulan, Alton Hutto of Duncan, OK, and Bill Hutto of Enterprise, AL; two sisters, Annie Merle Young and Wenelle Lilly, both of Albany; and 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today (Sunday), from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at Perry Funeral Chapel.

CORDELE - Mae Hartley Martin, 91, of Baptist Village, Waycross, died Friday, January 17, 2003 in Waycross.
Funeral services will be held today (Sunday), 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home, with burial in Zion Hope Cemetery in Cordele.
A native of Crisp County, Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Cordele.
Survivors include a son, Glynn (Kaye) Hartley of Perry; three daughters, Joyce Adkins of Clemson, SC, and Laverne (Stanley) Hendricks of Moultrie, and Emma Lee (Howard) Rawlings of Plant City, FL; a sister, Ethelle (Jimmy) Musselwhite of Warner Robins; and 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husbands, Ollis R. Hartley and James T. Martin.

FORT GAINES - Jack Moseley, 71, of 311 E. Hartford St., Fort Gaines, died Friday, January 17, 2003 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Fort Gaines United Methodist Church in Fort Gaines. The Revs. Jack Taylor and Jeff Hines will officiate.
Born June 21, 1931 in Birmingham, AL, Mr. Moseley was the son of the late R. J. Moseley and Clarice Spinks Moseley. He was a retired former chairman and CEO of USF&G of Baltimore, Maryland. He had lived in Fort Gaines for the past five years and a member of Fort Gaines United Methodist Church. Mr. Moseley was involved on may political and civic committees.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Blake Moseley of Fort Gaines; three sons, Jack Moseley Jr. of Montrose, CO, Glynn Moseley of Fort Gaines and Edward Moseley of Melbourne Beach, FL; and three grandchildren, Mitch, Kate and Josh Moseley.
Preceded in death by a grandson, Evan Moseley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fort Gaines United Methodist Church.

ALBANY - Burnes Lee Blankenship, 72, of Albany, died Saturday, January 18, 2003 at his residence.
His funeral service will be Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at Kimbrell-Stern with interment to follow at Morgan City Cemetery, Morgan, GA. Elder Max Childs will officiate.
A native of Paynesville, WV, Mr. Blankenship had lived in Albany since 1973. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Vietnam Conflict and retired with 22 years of service. Upon retirement, he was an associate working for Civil Service at the Albany Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany Lincoln Mercury, Tanner Dean Motors and retiring again with Oglethorpe Auto Service. An avid golfer and bowler, his memberships also included The Air Force Sgt.'s Association, American Legion Post No. 30, V.F.W. No. 2875, and The Loyal Order of the Moose, holding the highest degree, the "Pilgrims Degree of Merit".
Survivors include his wife, Dora Mae Eubanks Blankenship of Albany; a daughter, Brenda Blankenship McLean of Albany; a son, Brian Blankenship and wife, Tonya of Marietta; two sisters, Lena Blankenship Honaker of Whitewood, VA, and Patty Blankenship Compton of New Port News, VA; two brothers, Johnny Blankenship of Paynesville, WV, and Ben Blankenship of Oakridge, NC; six grandchildren, Jason McLean, Jessica McLean, Austin McLean, Ariel Blankenship, Breanna Blankenship, Donte Bolden; and one great-grandchild, Cameron James Dean McLean.
The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday.

ALBANY - Susan B. Farkas, 60, of Albany, died Saturday evening, January 18, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital following an illness.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 2 p.m., at Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church. The Revs. Nathan Godley and Nancy Scarborough will officiate. The remains have been cremated.
A native of Valdosta, GA, Mrs. Farkas had lived in Albany since 1966. A member of the teaching profession for over 35 years, Mrs. Farkas was a 1964 graduate of Valdosta State College (now Valdosta State University) and was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a former Foreign Language Teacher at Riverview Academy and at the time of her death she was head of the Performing Arts Department and taught French at Deerfield-Windsor School. She was also a former teacher of the year for both Riverview and Deerfield-Windsor Schools. Mrs. Farkas was a member of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church and the Alpha Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard Farkas II of Albany; a son, George Farkas of Atlanta; two daughters, Trudy Farkas of Atlanta and Lorraine Farkas of Albany; mother, Mary Sue Branch of Atlanta; sister, Sharon Henderson of Atlanta; niece, Michele Higgins Wilkinson of Atlanta; nephew, Michael Higgins of Atlanta; four great-nieces and nephews, Harrison and Ashley McCray, Margaret Wilkinson and Kemper Scott Higgins, all of Atlanta.

PEACHTREE CITY - Donald B. Johnson Sr. of Roswell, died Wednesday, January 15, 2003. He was a 1966 graduate of Albany High School, a 1972 graduate of Georgia Tech and was a longtime employee of Georgia Power.
Survived by his children, Stacy A. Johnson of Portland, OR, and Donald B. Johnson Jr. of Austin, TX; a brother, Doug A. Johnson of Donalsonville.

Born in Caneyville, KY, on August 8, 1916 to the late Jack Hayes and Ella Glazebrook Hayes. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed working with the elderly in Starke, FL. She has lived in Worth County for the past five years with her daughter and still maintained her home in Starke, FL. Mrs. McCrary is a member of Madison Street Baptist Church in Starke.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Boyd of Sylvester and Reathel Dorminey of Columbus; two sisters, Rennie Cooper of Morton Gap, KY, and Nancy Adcock of Elkhart, IN; and eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today (Monday), from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
