SUZANNE FITZGERALD DELPECH, who helped found what was at one time the largest advertising agency in Honolulu, died Saturday, Oct. 2. She was 81.
Her first husband was well-known ad executive Vance Fawcett. He died in 1968. She married local stockbroker Alan Delpech in 1978.
The Fawcetts arrived in Honolulu in 1950 and opened Vance Fawcett Associates, an advertising firm. Vance was president. Suzanne was a general partner and served as secretary and treasurer.
The company came to be known as Fawcett McDermott Cavanagh Brinck.
Delpech was born in Los Angeles and graduated from Marlborough School and the Chouinard Art Institute, where she studied architecture and design.
She was a member of the Outrigger Canoe Club and the Garden Club of America.
Her daughter, Denby Fawcett, is a KITV-4 news reporter.
She is survived by her husband, Alan; children, Denby, Tony, Gerald and Kam Fawcett; and grandchildren, Francesca Cunningham, Meagan Fawcett, Brett Jones and Ryan Fawcett.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Outrigger Canoe Club.
Arrangements are by Diamond Head Mortuary.
