John Uldrick, former country club owner, dies
John R. “Red” Uldrick, the developer and former owner of the Hawaii Country Club in Kunia, has died in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was 86.
Uldrick was born in Battle Creek, Mich., and he moved to Hawaii in 1955 as an Army officer. After leaving the Army, Uldrick built the International Golf and Country Club in 1958; it later was named the Hawaii Country Club. He returned to the Mainland after selling the golf course. His 1996 book, “Golf Balls and Monkey Pods,” was about the course.
Uldrick, who died March 15, is survived by brother, Robert; and sister, Viola Sharp.

WAYNE MELVIN ANDUHA, 60, of Kaneohe, died April 13, 2000. Born in Honolulu. Retired as a city refuse collector. Survived by sons, Wayne Jr., Anthony and Tommy; daughters, Stacy Anduha and Deborah Taylor; several grandchildren; parents, Manuel Sr. and Isabel; brothers, Manuel Jr. and Allan; sisters, Sylvia Givens, Viola Fonseca, Susan Costa and Anita Kelly. KANJI FUJII, 79, of Pearl City, died April 17, 2000. Born in Fukuoka, Japan. Retired as a meat inspector with the state Department of Agriculture.
