Kenneth Sears
Kenneth O. Sears, 37, of Annapolis, died Nov. 23, 2002 at his home. The cause of death is unavailable.
Mr. Sears was born Jan. 3, 1965, in Annapolis. He was employed in the construction field and was a former boat builder.
His interests included fishing and hunting.
Surviving are two daughters, Natalie and Julie Yeckley of Calvert County; his mother, Patricia Mason of Newport, N.C.; two brothers, Tommy Sears and Ronnie Williams of Annapolis; two sisters, Betsy Binette of Ladys Island, S.C., and Krystal Kasper of Port Royal, S.C.; and his grandfather, Philip Sweeney of Annapolis.
He was the son of the late Harry T. Sears.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. tomorrow at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave. No formal services are planned and burial is private.

George Taylor Jr.
George Lewis Taylor Jr., 65, of Chester, died Nov. 24, 2002 at Washington, D.C., Hospital Center.
Born Sept. 9, 1937, in Chester, Mr. Taylor was the son of George L. Taylor and Charlotte Nash.
He attended the former Stevensville High School. On April 26, 1957, he married Sylvia Hunter.
He was drafted into the Army in 1957 and served in the Panama Canal Zone. He returned to Chester where he was a waterman, harvesting oysters, crabs and clams.
In 1992 he began working for the Queen Anne's County Parks and Recreation Department.
He enjoyed his dogs and staying home watching television.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Tory V. Taylor of Grasonville; one daughter, Tia Noel Taylor of Denton; one grandson; and his stepmother, Mary Elmira Taylor.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Road, Chester, where services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Easton.

Barbara Armstrong
Barbara Lykes Armstrong, 58, of Millersville and formerly of Loveland, Ohio, died Nov. 20, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center from complications after surgery.
Mrs. Armstrong was born May 2, 1944, in Hattiesburg, Miss. She attended McLean High School in McLean, Va.
In addition to working as a real estate agent in Maryland, she was also a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Her hobbies included cooking, flower and herb gardening, antiques, collecting, history, playing bridge and dancing. She was a dedicated sports fan for local teams.
Surviving are her husband, John A. Armstrong, whom she married in 1961; two sons, J. Richard Armstrong of Annapolis and R. Bryan Armstrong of Odenton; her mother, Irene Wargo Lykes of Sarasota, Fla.; and one sister, Liliane M. Lykes of Falls Church, Va.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 7 at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St.

Philip Beach
Philip A. Beach, 72, a resident of Grand Island, Fla., since 1992 and formerly of Annapolis, died Nov. 21, 2002 at Florida Hospital Waterman in Eustis, Fla.
Mr. Beach was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Baltimore, and served in the Army.
He was a graduate of the Detroit GM Institute for Diesel Engineers. His first job was with John Trumpy working on PT boats in Annapolis and later he served as a boat captain for Pepsi-Cola of Annapolis. He also was a boat captain for a private charter service.
Mr. Beach was a member of Centreville United Methodist Church, the Elks and Annapolis Masonic Lodge 89. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed racing go-carts and building and flying airplanes.
Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Beach; a daughter Katherine Strong of Lexington, Ky.; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., where services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will follow in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
Mikayla Cochran
Mikayla Louise Cochran, infant daughter of Timothy J. and Sarah L. Cochran of Riva, died of heart failure Nov. 23, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center where she was born Nov. 21.
Mikayla was a tissue organ donor.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Sue Ann Schou of Annapolis, James Franklin and Bobbi Cochran of Alta Loma, Calif., and Charles J. and Betty Wood of Delaware.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship Church, Central Avenue and Brick Church Road, Davidsonville. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater.

Robert Dunne
Robert Emmet "Bob" Dunne, 54, a 21-year resident of Annapolis, died Friday (Nov. 15, 2002) at his home of complications of diabetes.
Mr. Dunne was born in New York City and grew up in the Washington, D.C., area.
From 1965 to 1971 he served in the Marine Corps, achieving the rank of sergeant. He served in Vietnam, earning two Purple Hearts as well as two Good Conduct medals, the National Defense Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
Subsequently he returned to the Washington area where he earned an associate's degree in business administration from Northern Virginia Community College and studied business management and banking at George Washington University, while beginning a long career in the banking and finance industry.
During a six-year term with Maryland National Bank in College Park, he worked in collections and direct and indirect lending. In 1983 he became manager of yacht financing with Horizon Creditcorps Chesapeake Office in Annapolis.
Mr. Dunne then spent more than seven years as assistant vice president of Farmers National Bank of Maryland. He retired in 1993, although he remained active in the marine lending industry as his health permitted until July 2001.
Mr. Dunne's hobbies included rugby and sailing. His volunteer work with a number of organizations occupied most of his free time and made use of his talents for celebrating life in a wide variety of ways with his many friends.
A former treasurer and vice-commodore of the Eastport Yacht Club, he served several years as house committee co-chairman and as chairman of its annual Lights Parade.
In addition, during many years as the primary force behind the club's annual parties in celebration of the Volvo Leukemia Cup Regatta, he was honored with the title of Principal Party Officer.
While with Maryland National Bank, Mr. Dunne headed its Washington Area Activities Committee, coached men's and women's softball teams, coordinated its annual Christmas Dance and Crab Feast, and was co-captain of its flag football team.
Mr. Dunne is survived by 10 siblings, Timothy Dunne of Colonial Beach, Va., Christopher Dunne of San Diego, Calif., David and Mary Rose Dunne of Arlington, Va., Frank Dunne of Virginia Beach, Va., Greg and Connie Dunne of Portland, Ore., Anet Dunne of Santa Rosa, Calif., Peggy Dunne of Novato, Calif., and Laura Gordon of Colorado Springs, Col. His marriage to Debby Lynne Dunne ended in divorce.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Eastport Yacht Club, 317 First St. Arrangements are by Hardesty Funeral Home.

Stewart Murphy
Stewart F. Murphy, 79, of Crownsville, died Nov. 14, 2002 at the home of his daughter, Jan Ann Gavin, in Crownsville, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Murphy was born July 7, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Charles Stewart Parnell Murphy and Eva Sawyer Murphy.
He attended the University of Notre Dame, majoring in journalism and physical education, and was a member of the high diving team. In 1943 he was inducted into the Army Air Corps where he flew P-61 Black Widows with the 425th Night Fighter Squadron in the European theater of operations. He was recalled to active duty in the Air Force during the Korean War.
An accomplished designer and marketing director, he won many awards and filed 17 patents with the U.S. Patent Office, most notably for the floating brush attached to stereo cartridges and an innovative alumnimum framed "knockdown" kitchen cabinet system known as Arcware.
His design porfolio included stints at Revlon, Remington Rand and Pickering and Stanton before he founded S.F. Murphy and Associates of Madison Avenue.
His Poggenpohl Studio at Church Circle and Euro Design Center participated in many commercial and residential projects in the 1980s, providing cutting edge kitchen and bath design to the area. The studio often participated in the Annapolis raft races, winning both speed and design awards in the annual event.
His interests included architecture, sculpture, sports, poetry, literature and dogs. He was recognized by the United Jewish Appeal for efforts to resettle the displaced in Israel, the United States and other lands of freedom.
He was formerly married to the late Mary Pughilli and Gertrude Murphy.
In addition to his daughter, he is survived by three other daughters, Susan Ann Mereness of Alexandria, Va., and Lynne Ann and Lauri Ann Murphy of Los Angeles, Calif.; three sons, Michael Stewart Murphy of Elizabeth City, N.C., Jay J. Murphy of Jacksonville, Fla., and Thomas Nelson Murphy of Basking Ridge, N.J.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Mary Lou Murphy.

Joseph Neyman
Joseph Herbert Neyman, 61, a resident of Kent Island, died of cancer Nov. 16, 2002 at Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum after a two-month illness.
Mr. Neyman was born May 4, 1941, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and attended Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda. He served in the Navy from Feb. 26, 1959, through May 3, 1962, and was maintenance engineer on the USS Howard W. Gilmore.
He worked in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field for 30 years and was an entrepreneur and inventor. He invented and patented a commercial ironer cleaner known as a "sensor cleaner for a flat work ironer" and the "Clip-It Leader Holder" used by fishermen, an item featured in The Capital on Sept. 30, 2001. An avid fisherman and boater, Mr. Neyman was a member of the Kent Island Yacht Club. He enjoyed the Chesapeake Bay, rock and roll music, watching the history channel and World War II movies on television. He also was a life-long Redskins football team fan.
On Nov. 20, 1964, he was married to Judith Lewis of Annapolis. The couple divorced on Oct. 19, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Jill Popov of Annapolis and Aimee Spagnolo of Edgewater; and a sister, Elaine Albert of Lewes, Del.

Lillian Dunn
Lillian Dunn, 62, of Annapolis and previously of York, Pa., died Nov. 19, 2002, at home, after a four-year battle with cancer.
Mrs. Dunn was born July 17, 1940 in New York, N.Y.
She was a homemaker but also worked for several years as an office manager in a local medical office.
A member of St. Mary's Church in Annapolis, her hobbies included gardening and spending time with family and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jim Dunn of Annapolis; two sons, Michael Dunn of Arnold and John Dunn of Carlisle, Pa.; her mother, Magdaline Konicek of Woodside, N.Y.; one sister, Rosemarie Curley of Hicksville, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis. Clare Malloy
Clare Morrison Malloy, 89, of the Admiral Heights Community of Annapolis, died Nov. 22, 2002 at Genesis Elder Care Spa Creek. The cause of death is not yet available.
Mrs. Malloy was born March 1, 1913 in Scranton, Pa. She was a graduate of Marywood College and taught school in Scranton, Pa.
In 1939, she married John Walter Malloy. He died in 1993.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Annapolis.
In addition to her husband, she is preceeded in death by one sister, Marion Morrison.
Surviving are three daughters, Geralyn Malloy of Annapolis, Marie Anderson of Severna Park and Claire Barton of Crofton; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be tomorrow from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Avenue, Annapolis. Pedro Stansbury
Pedro Norman Stansbury, 31, of Bethlehem, Pa. and previously Annapolis, died Nov. 19, 2002, in Bethlehem after a lengthy illness. The cause of death is not available.
Mr. Stansbury was born July 21, 1971 in Baltimore and educated in Anne Arundel Public Schools. He attended Keystone Job Corps Center in Drums, Pa. and received certification in building maintenance.
His hobbies included music, sports, family and friends.
He is survived by three daughters, Breanna Stansbury of Bethlehem, Pa. and Patrica and Monique Stansbury, both of Annapolis; his mother, Lillian Stansbury Baldwin of Annapolis; a grandmother, Madeline Abrims of Annapolis; one step-grandmother, Ellanor Stansbury of New Mexico; two brothers, Perry Stansbury of Frederick and John Gilmore of Glen Burnie; three sisters, Janice Pulley of Annapolis, Lillian Stansbury of Baltimore and Donna Diggs of North Carolina.
Friends may call Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Reese and Sons Mortuary, 821 West Street, Annapolis and where funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Bestgate Memorial Park.
John M. Musterman
Retired Air Force Col. John M. "Jack" Musterman, 75, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died suddenly of a cerebral hemorrhage Nov. 22, 2001 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Col. Musterman was born on April 3, 1926, in Annapolis. He attended St. Mary's Elementary School and Loyola High School in Baltimore before graduating from Annapolis High School in 1944.
He joined the Army Air Corps to become a pilot during World War II. After the war he attended the University of Maryland before re-enlisting in the Army Air Corps, and became a pilot. When the corps became the Air Force, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant and was a pilot with Strategic Air Command for 10 years.
While in the service, he graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1959 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
Col. Musterman completed a tour of duty in Vietnam as a reconnaissance squadron leader, where he flew 100 missions over North Vietnam. He was awarded the Silver Star and 12 other medals of honor during the campaign.
After retiring from the Air Force in 1972, he was an engineering manager with the Honeywell Corp.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville for 28 years and belonged to Sigma Tau honorary scholastic fraternity, the Retired Officers' Association, the League of Silent Flying and the Capital Area Soaring Association.
Col. Musterman enjoyed remote control airplanes and boats.
He was married to the former Barbara Ann Kent of Annapolis on Dec. 12, 1948.
Also surviving are three sons, Mark D. and Michael D. Musterman of Annapolis and Matthew D. Musterman of Tomsbrook, Va.; one daughter, Maria Matthews of Annapolis; one brother, Robert F. Musterman of Salisbury; two sisters, Dana C. Clemens of Phoenixville, Pa., and Helen E. Harrison of Arnold; and seven grandchildren.
He was the father of Kent Musterman and Kathleen Katceff, who both died in 1975.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 West Central Ave., Davidsonville. Burial will be in St. Anne's Cemetery.

Alice Ringgold
Alice Elizabeth Ringgold, 78, of Stevensville, died Nov. 22, 2001 at her home.
Born in Chester on Aug. 2, 1923, Mrs. Ringgold was the daughter of the late John A. and Lillian Twigg Walters. She attended school in Chester and on Oct. 8, 1938, she married Bernard W. Ringgold of Chester. They raised their family on Goodhand Creek Road and moved to Stevensville in 1962.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, John "Jack" Bernard Ringgold Sr. of Chester; two daughters, Brenda A. Ruth of Grasonville and Gladys M. Lee of Chester; two brothers, J. Newman Walters Sr. and George Walters, both of Chester; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her sister, Elnora Ringgold, died in February 1999.
Family and friends may call at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Road, Chester, where services will be at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Stevensville Cemetery.
