NETTIE WEINGARTEN, 92, of West Bloomfield, died June 4, 2001. She was a member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek and the National Council of Jewish Women.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Charles and Ruth Weingarten of West Bloomfield; daughter-in-law, Barbara Heller; grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey and Joyce Weingarten, Dr. Brenda Weingarten and Dr. Robert Felsenfeld, Dr. Mark and Cindy Weingarten, Ellen and Geoffrey Kasselman, Mindy and Scott Eisenberg, Irwin Weingarten and Dr. Lynn Gessner; 15 great-grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late Irwin Weingarten; loving mother of the late Dr. Joel Weingarten.

ZELDA RUTH HOFFMAN, 81, of Peoria, Ariz., formerly of Detroit, died June 4, 2001.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Curnow of Walled Lake, Lorraine and Dennis Raczkowski of Glendale, Ariz.; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Nellie Copley of Bloomfield Hills; sister, Annette Goldberg of Birmingham; grandchildren, Danielle and John Moynihan, Julie and Tim Ballard; great-grandchildren, Christina, Steven, Rachel, Logan. She was the beloved wife of the late Julius Hoffman.

ABRAHAM KUTLOV, 88, of Detroit, died June 4, 2001. While a student at Northern High School, he joined the Michigan National Guard and spent summers in Grayling with the 182nd Field Artillery and played in the band.
After graduating from, University of Detroit, where he played in the marching band and joined the fencing club, he won many medals and was recognized as the state of Michigan outstanding fencer.
Mr. Kutlov earned a degree in electrical engineering but to get a job at Ditzler Color Company he enrolled in Lawrence Institute of technology and went to night school to earn a degree in chemical engineering. During World War II, he did work with automotive paints and worked with all branches of the armed services on camouflage.
He later joined the Cadillac Packing Company and went on the become a specialist in spice flavoring and sanitation of meat packing plants.
He was first clarinet in the All City Band and Orchestra in Detroit and was offered a scholarship to attend the national music camp at Interlochen.
Mr. Kutlov was a life member of the American Chemical Society, the Institute of Food Technologists, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the alumni association of Lawrence Tech, life member of Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, a member of B'nai Moshe Synagogue and an associate member of Hadassah.
In 1978, Mr. Kutlov was honored by the Greater Detroit Sausage Manufacturers Association and was presented a charter investor certificate for his investment in the University of Detroit Mercy.
Mr. Kutlov is survived by his wife of 62 years, Leona Kutlov; daughters and son-in-law, Carol and Ram Armon of Israel, Elizabeth Levin of Huntington Woods and her fiance Stephen Kelman; grandchildren, Oren, Eyal, Guy, Dana and Gil Armon, Daniel and David Levin. He was the dear brother of the late Sophie Kutlov, the late Mary and the late Lt. Col. Milton Kutlov. Interment at Oakview Cemetery.

SIDNEY FRANK SCHARE, 73, formerly of Livonia of Clermont, Fla., died June 4, 2001. He was an owner/operator of a custom draperies store.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Manny Schare of Hollywood, Calif., David and Amy Schare of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Matthew Schare of Clermont; granddaughter, Brooke; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Roberta (Bobby) Schare of Oak Park, Max and Sylvia Isley of West Bloomfield. He was the loving husband of the late Esther Schare; loving brother of the late Marvin Schare; loving son of the late Sarah Schare.

HARMON BAYER, 81, of West Bloomfield, died July 23, 2001. A self-employed chemical engineer, he was recognized for his devoted service to the American Zionist Movement-Michigan Region. Mr. Bayer was a past president of Parents for North American Israelis, a founding and charter member of American Society for Quality Control (ASQC), a fellow for the American Association for Advancement of Science in 1964. He was listed in Library of Congress as a prominent engineer in 1975, listed in Who's Who as a top engineer and was recognized for outstanding contributions at Hechtman Apartments.

HOWARD BERNARD EHRLICH, 77, former Detroiter of Massachusetts, died July 22, 2001. He was a graduate of Wayne State University Law School and had worked as an engineer, die designer and an attorney.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie and Peter Beer of West Bloomfield. Mrs. Grunwald was the beloved wife of the late Sandor Grunwald.
