THREE DALLAS MEN ARE MENTIONED IN CASUALTY LISTS Three Dallas men were mentioned in Tuesday's casualy list, one as having died of wounds and two as being wounded. Private Walter L. Evans, 17-year-old son of Mrs. Ida Chappell, 3400 Live Oak, received wounds in the fighting during the last days of the "big push" and died as a result. He was a member of Company E, 144th Infantry, Thirty-Sixth division, but was later trans- ferred to another regiment. Lieutenant James Hardin Crosby, son of Mrs. Julia Crosby, 513 Main street, had his right arm shot off in the battle of the Meuse. He is expected home shortly. Private Sanford Bartee, son of Mrs. Mary Day, 2606 Live Oak, was wounded early in the fall. His mother has received letters from him announcing convalescence and saying he expects to return home in the near future. |
