Raymond C. Dowler
Raymond C. Dowler, 80, of Kent, died Monday.
Born May 28, 1917 in Calis, W.Va., he was the son of John and Icie (Riggle) Dowler.
Mr. Dowler was a retired automobile mechanic. He was employed by Dood Chevrolet in North Jackson.
He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Mogadore.
Survivors include his son, Jack R. of Kent; daughter, Nancy (Carl) Frost of Holbrook, Pa.; eight grandchildren; brother, Fred McCracken of Aleppo, Pa.; and sisters, Karmen Ward of Warren and Monalee Lough of Maryland. His wife, Maclella "Honey," died in 1972.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. until services at 7:30 tonight at Heritage Baptist Church of Mogadore, with the Rev. Gerald Collingsworth officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lutheran Cemetery in Newton Falls. Arrangements were made by Wood-Kortright Funeral Home. Wood services
Lillian Wood
Services for former Windham resident Lillian Wood, 83, of Lower Salem, Ohio, who died Monday at Shelby Hospital in Marietta, will be held at 1 p.m.today at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home in Garrettsville.
Born June 30, 1914 in Cleveland, she was the daughter of Fred and Pauline (Janus) Haas.
Survivors include her sons, Ronald of Lower Salem and Russell of Astoria; daughters, Ruth Maur of Freedom and Robin Sadler of Windham; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother Raymond Haas of Columbus; and sisters, Helen Lybarger of California, Jean Click of Berea, Treasa Thompson of Cleveland and Florence Crossley of Rocky River. Her husband Earl R., whom she married Oct. 21, 1932, died April 18, 1996. One grandchild, one great-grandchild and a sister, Dorothy Capozzio, also died previously.
Burial will be in Drakesburg Cemetery in Freedom Township. Addie Hilberry
Addie C. Hillberry
Addie C. Hillberry, 86, of Ravenna, died Tuesday at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna.
Born Oct. 11, 1910 in Mannington, W.Va., she was the daughter of Clarence and Lila Jane (Hughes) Parks. She had lived in Ravenna since 1942.
Mrs. Hillberry was a member of Brady Lake Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Lawrence Mike of Mantua; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Her husband, Merle, died in 1990.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery in Paris Township.
Clara Conner
Clara R. (Minth) Conner, 71, of Kent died Saturday
Born March 23, 1926 in Letcher County, Ky., she was the daughter of Rev. Arnold and Maude (Shelton) Kelly.
Mrs. Conner was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, John of Kent and David (Daryl) of Kentucky; daughters, Mrs. George (Donna) Lysyj of Cleveland, Mrs. Melvin (Jackie) Taylor of Ravenna, Cindy of Mogadore, Mrs. Harry (Debbie) Calhoun of Kentucky, Mrs. James (Pat) Robinson of Kentucky, and Mrs. James (Berneda) Polly of Ravenna; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda Gardner of Kent; and brother, the Rev. Arnold Kelly of West Virginia.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Kent Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. James Polly officiating. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
Mildred Hoff
Mildred Lucille Hoff, 89, of Ravenna, died Saturday at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna.
Born June 21, 1908 in Kinchloe, W.Va., she was the daughter of Waitman T. and Florence (Currey) Smith. She had lived in Spencer, W.Va., until she moved to Ravenna in 1945.
Mrs. Hoff was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ravenna for more than 50 years and the Marian Circle and Willing Workers Sunday School class. She also was active in the Women's Civic Club of Ravenna, Annevar Garden Club of Ravenna and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Ravenna Chapter.
Survivors include her son, Peter of Columbus; daughter, Betty Leblanc of Stow; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Fred Smith of Spencer, W.Va., Wayne Smith of Denver, Colo., and Eugene Smith of Kent; and sister, Freda Roberts of Morenci, Mich. Her husband, Jason Sammy Hoff, died in 1995. Her sons, William and James, grandson, Bradley Hoff, sister, Minnie Wilson, and brothers, Doyle, Roy and Don Smith, also died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel ,where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Thomas Poremba officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.
Leonard Marcello
Leonard A. "Lenny" Marcello, 73, of Warren died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Health Center inYoungstown.
Born Aug. 20, 1923 in Warren, he was the son of Sam and Angeline (Cornicello) Marcello. He was a 1941 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and had attended Younstown State University.
Mr. Marcello retired in 1983 from LTV Corp. in Warren as a turn foreman after 25 years of service.
He attended St. James Church in Warren.
He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Frances "Fran" (Ludwick), whom he married June 29, 1948; sons, Donald J. of Rootstown, Thomas E. of Akron and Richard D. of Long Beach, Calif.; daughters, Sister Mary Lenette Marcello of Chardon, Fran Byers of Hermosa Beach, Calif., and Joanne Killen of Warren; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His brothers, Joseph, John, Jack and Michael, and sisters, Esther Perozzi, Rita Basile and Sister Mary Jo Anna, died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road, N.E., Warren, where a service will beheld at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. at St. James Church in Warren. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
Mona Slagle
Mona Kathleen Slagle, 51, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday in Canonsburg, Pa.
Born May 8, 1946 in Isabella, Pa., she was the daughter of Donald R. and Alvinia (Mortland) Broadwater.
Mrs. Slagle taught fourth grade at Northside Elementary School.
She was a charter member and a trustee of the Grace United Methodist Church in Rogers.
She was a graduate of the University of California in California, Pa.
Survivors include her husband, Ron , whom she married Aug. 5, 1972; sons, Troy of Fayetteville, Ark., and Todd, at home; daughters, Kristy, at home, and Stephanie of Queens, N.Y.; mother, Alvina Broadwater; brothers, Ted Broadwater and Brent Broadwater, both of East Millsboro, Pa.; and sisters, Donna Ewing of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Brenda Ashcraft of San Rosa, Calif.;
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 tonight at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, Ark. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Rogers, Ark., with the Rev. Charles Wiggins officiating. Burial will be in t Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers.

Nora Dietz
Nora E. Dietz, 86, of East Elm Street, Kent, died Sunday at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna.
Born Aug. 31, 1910 in Kent, she was the daughter of Thomas J. and Mary (McBride) O'Brian.
Mrs. Dietz worked as a stenographer for Davey Tree Expert Co. in Kent.
She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Kent, LCBA, Infant Jesus of Prague Guild, and Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary.
Survivors include her son, Tom (Linda) of Grand Isle, Vt.; and two grandchildren. Her husband, Glen V., died previously.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Church in Kent. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.

Robert Graham
Robert A. Graham, 74, of Myrna Boulevard, Kent, died Saturday at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.
Born Nov. 17, 1922 in Warren, he was the son of Edward A. and Lucille (Hoskenson) Graham.
Mr. Graham was a retired employee of Lamson & Sessions Co. in Kent, where he was a supervisor/
He was a member of Rockton Masonic Lodge No. 316 in Kent.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his daughter, Janis Linzey of Kent; one grandchild; and sister, Jean (Richard) Frame of Randolph, N.Y. His wife, Esther Mae, died in 1996.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home in Kent, where Rockton Lodge will conduct Masonic services at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, with the Rev. Richard Eshler officiating.
