Luther Maddox
Luther T. Maddox, 80, Middletown, died Thursday, Nov. 5, at Middletown Regional Hospital, Middletown.
Born Aug. 15, 1918 in Grayson, Ky., he was the son of Matt and LaRue (Issacs) Maddox. He was educated in the Butler County Schools, and was a farmer in the Butler County area for more than 50 years before retiring in 1994. He married Betty Jane Burns in 1939.
He was a member of Butler County Landmark, Butler County Farm Bureau, Holstein-Friesian Association and Butler County Dairy Council.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane, Middletown, children Carol Jane (Richard) Giffen, Trenton, and Tom Maddox, Middletown; six grandchildren, Heather (Greg) Whitesele, Julie Maddox, David Maddox, Michael (Melissa) Giffen, Melanie Giffen and Stephanie Giffen; three great-grandchildren, Brittany, Paige and Cody; two sisters, Nola Wilson, Florida, and Betty Arnold, Hamilton; three brothers, Sherman Maddox, Arizona, Chilt Maddox, Cincinnati, John Maddox, South Carolina.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 9 at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, Hamilton, with the Pastor Paul R. Young officiating. Burial was in Butler County Memorial Park.
Paul Beaver
Paul G. Beaver, 73, Eaton, died Monday, Nov. 2, at Oakridge Rehab and Specialty Care Center, Richmond, Ind., after an extended illness.
Born July 30, 1925 to the late Isaac and Anna (Trittschuh) Beaver, he was reared by his late aunt and uncle, Gustov and Evelyn Trittschuh, Bradford. He was a WWII veteran who served with the United States Marine Corp in the Southern Pacific, retired from General Motors, Central Office, after 38 years. He worked with the Lakengren Water Authority for 8 years.
An active member of Grace Lutheran Church, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph E. Beaver and a sister, Evylin M. (Beaver) Skiba.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Florence E. (Strobel) Beaver; a son, CWO4 Joyce B. (Mila) Beaver, stationed in Oak Harbor Washington; a daughter, Cheryl D. (Ben) Barnett of Beavercreek; a brother, Lester (Viola) Beaver of Covington; five grandchildren, Michelle L. Beaver, Yakima, Wa., Schuyler and Justin Beaver, Oak Harbor, Wa., Eric and Kyle Barnett, Beavercreek; one great-grandaughter, Kaitlynn Marie Beaver, Yakima, Wa.
A memorial service will be held Nov. 14, at 10:30 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Lutheran Dr., Eaton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be given to the Paul Beaver Memorial at Grace Lutheran Church.
Arlene Isler
Arlene R. Isler of Okeana died Thursday, Nov. 5.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert P. Isler; daughters Kathryn Isler Goos, Eaton, Carolyn Jean (Stephen) Dawkins, Dallas, Texas, Diane (Brian) Miller, Cincinnati, Maria (Andrew) Smith, Chicago, Ill.; two grandchildren, Alexander Douglas Dawkins and Natalie Isler Miller; siblings, Yvonne Duer, Ellen, William, Allen, and James Arias.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 9, at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Shandon. Arrangements were handled by the Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Hamilton.
The family requests memorial contributions be directed to the St. Vincent DePaul Society in care of The St. Aloysius Catholic Church, P.O. Box 95, Shandon, Ohio 45063.
Bill G. Stahr
Bill G. Stahr, 70, of 15 Northeana Drive, St. Marys, Ohio, died early Wednesday morning, Sept. 9, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
Born March 9, 1928, in Ripley, W. Va., he was the son of Lewis and Frances (Harpold) Stahr. He retired as marketing and sales manager of Dayton Coatings and Chemicals, and was the owner of Stahr Video Productions in St. Marys.
He had served as president of the Auglaize-Mercer County Convention and Visitors' Bureau, was a member of the Professional Videographers Association and past president of the Polyurethane Manufacturers Association. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in West Alexandria and the Valley of Dayton Shrine.
Survivors include his wife, Elene J. (Pappas) Stahr, whom he married Oct. 30, 1976; one son, David G. (Linda) Stahr of Arnold, Md.; two daughters, Dedra (Charles L.) Chinn of West Carrollton and Susan (Allan) Thompson of Springboro; four granddaughters, Robin (Robert) Reidy of Kettering, Erin Thompson of Springboro, Amanda Stahr and Margaret Stahr, both of Arnold, Md.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 12, at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, followed by graveside services at Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Roger W. Reedy
Roger Wayne Reedy, 51, of Lexington, Ky., former of the Dayton and Trotwood area, died Sunday, Sept. 6, in Dayton.
He was born March 26, 1947, in Harlan, Ky.
Survivors include two daughters, Ronda Tipton of Morehead, Ky., and Renee Reedy of Lexington, Ky.; his wife, Nadine Reedy of Knoxville, Tenn.; a stepson, David Brannon of Lexington, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Lisa Potter of Lexington, Ky.; four grandchildren; his father, Roger Reedy of Morehead, Ky.; two brothers, Danny Reedy of Corbin, Ky., and Johnny Reedy of Dayton; and two sisters, Debbie Shroder of New Carlisle and Sheila Godsey of Corbin, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Izela (Roberts) Reedy, in 1978.
Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 10, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with Dr. Pat Murray officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria.
Ruby B. Flory
Ruby B. Flory, 82, of West South Street, Arcanum, died Monday evening, Sept. 7, at her home.
Born Nov. 29, 1915, in Eaton, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Edna (Bender) Bell.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Chatterton of Centerville and Becky Ramirez of Bradford; five sons, Donnie Flory of Ludlow Falls, Scott Worley of Eaton, Edward Flory and James Flory, both of Arcanum, and Joe Flory of West Manchester; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Scott Worley, in September 1935; her second husband, Ray Flory, in January 1969; a son, Robert Flory; a grandson, Rodney Flory; two brothers, Hubert and Stanley Bell; and a sister, Ruth Coleman.
Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 10, at Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum, with the Rev. Paul Chastain officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Alice Morningstar
Alice Morningstar, 86, of 7753 Gayle Drive, Carlisle, died Monday evening, Sept. 7, at her home.
Born Nov. 8, 1911, she was the daughter of William Edward and Nellie V. (Wambolt) Johnstone. During World War II, she worked as a track walker at Armco Steel Co.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois Jewell of Franklin; five sons, Charles (Marilynn) Morningstar, with whom she resided, Adrian (Elizabeth) Morningstar of Germantown, Gilbert (Ann) Morningstar of Franklin, William (Gabriela) Morningstar of Middletown and Aaron (Dee Dee) Morningstar of Council Grove, Kan.; 31 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles, in 1963; her parents; a son, James Edward; a daughter, Madonna Taylor; and two grandsons, Steve and Robert Byron Morningstar.
Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 10, at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, Middletown, with the Rev. Delbert Dawes officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Andrew Allen
Andrew "Jack" Allen, 70, of 194 W. Lakengren Drive, Eaton, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, at his home.
Born April 7, 1928, in Seco (Letcher County), Ky., he was the son of the late William Edgar and Martha (Osbourne) Allen. He retired from the C.T.L. Distribution Center in Mulberry, Fla., where he was a chemical delivery truck driver. Mr. Allen was a member of Masonic Lodge #243, F&AM in Mountain City, Tenn.; American Legion Post #72 in Mulberry, Fla.; and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Betty J. (Wills) Allen; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Wayne Allen of Minnesota, Kenneth Darrell Allen of Florida, Jack Edward and Linda Sue Allen of Mulberry, Fla.; daughters and sons-in-law, Marjorie Ann and Chuck Togon of Minnesota, Karen Sue and Thomas Stacey of Fredericktown, Ohio, Sandra Lynn and Edward Platz, Donna Marie and Richard Bower, all of Florida.
Also surviving are 19 grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie (Emory) Fenner of Mountain City, Tenn., and Juanita Robinson of Kingsport, Tenn.; a brother, Thomas Darrell Allen of Knottingham, Pa.; a half brother, Billie Allen of Mountain City, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Allen; two half brothers, Stelson and Howard Allen; and one grandson.
Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 12, at Henson Funeral Home, Mountain City, Tenn., with the Rev. Howard Estep officiating. Masonic graveside services and burial were in Phillippi Cemetery, Mountain City, Tenn. Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel was in charge of local arrangements.
Brett M. Cantrell
Brent Michael Cantrell, 28, of Lewisburg, died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 12.
He was a graduate of Tri-County North High School, and had been employed as a job setter for the past seven years at K & B Mold in Brookville.
Survivors include his parents, Kermit M. "Mitch" and Loretta M. (Baker) Cantrell; paternal grandmother, Geraldine Cantrell of Virginia; maternal grandparents, Bill and Dolly Baker of Virginia; two brothers, Matthew and Brian Cantrell of Lewisburg; and a sister, Carrie Cantrell of Lewisburg.
Funeral services and entombment will be private. Kindred Funeral Home, Englewood, is in charge of arrangements.

Mervin McKee
Mervin McKee, 68, of East Carlton Road, West Alexandria, died Saturday, Sept. 12, at his home.
Born Jan. 25, 1930, in West Manchester, he was the son of Clarence and Sadie (Poffenberger) McKee. He retired from the West Alexandria Post Office after 27 years, was a farmer and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of James E. Ryan Post #322 American Legion, Twin Valley Rod and Gun Club, was an NRA member and an ATA member.
Survivors include sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Edward Bergeron of Columbia, S.C., and Vera Bruns of West Alexandria; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lowell McKee, Donald and Margie McKee, Loren and Donna McKee, all of West Alexandria, Merrill and Alice McKee of New Lebanon, Raymond and Jane McKee of Corning, Ohio, Virgil and Barb McKee of Columbus, Larry and Millie McKee of Eaton; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister-in-law, Caroline McKee.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Brian Dillahunt officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Loraine C. Swihart
Loraine C. Swihart, 71, of North Ft. Myers, Fla., died Friday, Sept. 11.
She was born at St. Marys, Ohio. She was the former owner of the Central House in Eaton. Mrs. Swihart moved to Florida from Eaton in 1976, and to Ft. Myers in 1983.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jacci and Craig Steffen of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; a granddaughter, Amelia; and a niece, Kim Carlson.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Ft. Myers, Fla. 33907. Entombment will be in Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
