Anne Ingram
Anne Ingram, 86, died Friday, Feb. 19, in Melbourne, Fla., where she had resided for the past four years. She was a former resident of Eaton.
Born March 4, 1912, in Middletown, she was the daughter of Albert and Stella Brown.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Jenkins of Palm Bay, Fla., and Joyce Harrell of Melbourne, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Ingram, in 1971; a son, Larry Ingram, in 1993; one sister; and one brother.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Breitenbach, McCoy and Leffler Funeral Home, Middletown.

Marilyn L. Keller
Marilyn L. Keller, 70, formerly of East Wadsworth Street, Eaton, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, in Lewisburg after an extended illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Preble County, she was born Nov. 22, 1928, the daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy (Doughtery) Teaford. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Del Hoover of Eaton, Rhonda and Rick Sheley of Brookville; five grandchildren, DeLana Earley, Monica Newkirk, Stacey Hoover, Tara Sheley and Nathan Sheley; one great-grandson, Nick Earley; two brothers, Ernest Teaford and James Teaford, both of Eaton; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell S. "Jack" Keller, on July 14, 1995.
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 20, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Thomas H. Maxedon Jr. officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.

Frank Shellhorn
Frank Shellhorn, 78, of New Paris, died Thursday, Feb. 18, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind.
Born Sept. 2, 1920, in Richmond, Ind., he was the son of Walter Peck and Nova Shellhorn. He had lived in New Paris for the past 37 years. Mr. Shellhorn retired in 1982 as a heavy equipment operator, and had worked 20 years with DECCA Records. He was a member of Local 1047 and the New Paris Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Kay Hensley, in 1995.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sally Elaine (Wright) Shellhorn; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Ann and Wayne Doan, Deborah Sue and Danny Zurwell, all of New Paris; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 22, at Barnes Funeral Home-New Paris Chapel, with the Rev. Don Boyer officiating. Burial was in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris.

Virgil Creech Jr.
Virgil Creech, Jr., 65, of Richmond, Ind., died Thursday, Feb. 11, at Reid Hospital after a long illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Richmond, he was born April 12, 1933, the son of Virgil Sr. and Anna V. (Revalee) Creech. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and attended Moorehead State College at Moorehead, Ky. He retired in 1991 after 32 years as a machine operator at Alcoa, and had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Creech was a former member of the Richmond Evening Optimist Club. He had coached City Tackle Football, Gray-Y and Little League baseball, and had been a part-time referee with the Eastern Indiana Officials Association.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Marlene Creech; a daughter, Valerie Creech, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Virgil III and Lisa Creech of Richmond, Ind.; two grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob Creech, and another expected in July; a brother, Walter Creech of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Wilma Sasser of Connersville, Ind.; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 15, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Chapel, Richmond, Ind., with the Rev. Jack Wallace officiating. Burial was in Earlham Cemetery, Richmond.

Vernon R. Chrismer
Vernon R. Chrismer, 66, formerly of Preble County, died Saturday, Feb. 20.
Born Oct. 2, 1932, in Hamilton, he was the son of the late Vernon G. and Marie (Truster) Chrismer. He retired in 1994 after 20 years as a salesman for Scott Towel, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Chrismer was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Indiana Sheriff's Association, and was a former member of the American Legion in Aurora, Ind.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann (Geeting) Chrismer; two brothers, Von Eugene Chrismer of Brownsville, Texas, and Darrel Lee Chrismer of Lexington, Ky.; nieces and nephews.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, is in charge of arrangements.

Raleigh T. Ferguson
Raleigh T. Ferguson, 88, of West Alexandria, died Sunday morning, Feb. 21.
Born June 5, 1910, in Bluff City, Tenn., he was the son of the late Frank and Jennie (Carrier) Ferguson. He had retired from Frigidaire in Dayton, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Lebanon.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Marguerite (Rurode) Ferguson; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth E. and Bob Kitchen of Dayton, Dorothy J. and William Mansel of Brookville, Shelby and Eugene Clinger of West Alexandria, Judy L. and Phil Wright of West Alexandria; sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Janet Ferguson of Bowling Green, Ky., R. Thomas and Julie Ferguson of Lakewood, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ida Clayman of Bristol, Tenn.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a cousin.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joe Ann Ferguson; a granddaughter; five sisters; and one brother.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, 3377 U.S. 35, West Alexandria, with Pastor James Whorton officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria.

Jeff D. Sparks
Jeff D. Sparks, 82, of Dayton, died Sunday, Feb. 21, at Miami Valley Hospital.
Born March 12, 1916, in Wolf County, Ky., he was the son of the late Fielding and Emma Sparks.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula, in 1989; and a daughter, Kathleen Shiverdecker, in 1998.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde and Mary Jo Sparks of Eaton, John and Janet Sparks of Washington State; two daughters, JoAnn Patrick and Reba Sparks, both of Dayton; nine grandchildren, Michael, Debra, Steve, TeAnna, Luana, Nancy, Sandra, Eva and Eric; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Westbrook Funeral Home, Wayne Avenue, Dayton. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria.
William E. Spoonamore
William E. Spoonamore, 83, of New Lebanon, died early Monday morning, Feb. 22, at his home.
Born Oct. 1, 1915, in Garrad County, Ky., he was the son of the late James and Sally (Spears) Spoonamore. He was a retired truck driver for Moraine Materials Sand & Gravel Co., and had also worked as a farmer and construction worker. He was a member of Union Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sarah Elizabeth (Owens) Spoonamore; daughters, Joyce Adeline Maye of Toledo, Katie Lucille Norman of Trotwood, Patricia Dianna Hollon of Trotwood and Martha Jane Spoonamore of New Lebanon; sons, Barry Lee Spoonamore of New Lebanon, Ricky Eugene Spoonamore of Dayton and William Alvin Spoonamore of West Alexandria; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, 3377 U.S. 35, West Alexandria, with Pastors James Whort on and Barry Quinlan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria.

Birdie N. Taylor
Birdie N. Taylor, 75, of New Market-Banta Road, Lewisburg, died Tuesday, March 2, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
Born Dec. 7, 1923, in Winchester, Ky., she was the daughter of John and Pearl (Dennison) Wilson. She had been a resident of Preble County since 1961. Mrs. Taylor retired in 1985 after 25 years with Whittaker Corporation in West Alexandria. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, and the American Business Women's Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth J. Taylor, in 1997.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth C. and Linda Taylor of Brookville, and Norman K. Taylor of Lewisburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Boone Shindeldecker, Sandra and Delbert Nuse, all of Lewisburg; sisters, Ruby Snider and Elizabeth Davis, both of Kentucky, Ruth Doolin and Anna Cavey, both of Dayton, and Joyce Smith of Beavercreek; brothers, Eugene Wilson of Miamisburg and John Wilson of Englewood; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 6, at Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel, with the Rev. James N. Lehman officiating. Entombment was in Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville.

Earl Foist
Earl Foist, 83, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, March 2, in Panama City Beach.
Born Feb. 16, 1916, in Matthews, Ind., he was the second son of Eve (LeRoy) and Frank Foist. He was a 1935 graduate of Elwood High School. He went to work for General Motors, Frigidaire Division in Dayton in 1937 and worked there until his induction into the Army in 1941.
Mr. Foist served in the European Theater during World War II, and was in the battles and campaigns of Rome-Arno; Rhineland; Southern France and Central Europe. He was awarded the EAME Theater Ribbon with five Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Ribbon. He was a staff sergeant, technician 3rd grade.
He attended Quartermaster Motor Transport School in Baltimore, Md. After being honorably discharged, he returned to General Motors for the next 36 years. In December 1976, he and his wife moved to Panama City Beach, Fla., having lived in Hamilton until his retirement.
He had been on the church bowling league, and was a great sports fan, especially of baseball. He was a confirmed Lutheran and a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Hamilton.
Survivors include his wife, Becky (Alberta Bechtol) Foist, whom he married Oct. 27, 1945; a son, Fred E. Foist of Panama City Beach, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky F. and Fred Lane of College Station, Texas; two grandsons, Michael Lane and Daniel Lane of College Station, Texas; three brothers, Howard Foist of Redlands, Calif., Leroy Foist of Anderson, Ind., and Wilfred Foist of Panama City Beach, Fla.; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Denver Foist; and sister, Bernice Foist.
Graveside services were Sunday, March 7, at Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton, with the Rev. Brian Dillahunt officiating. Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, was in charge of arrangements.
