Lenora M. Moore
Lenora Mae Moore, 86, of College Corner, Ind., died Tuesday, April 20, in Riley, Ohio.
Born May 27, 1912, in Morgan County, Ky., she was the daughter of John and Isabelle (Brown) Pettitt. She was a member of Westgate Church of God in Oxford.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Moore, in 1953; her second husband, Edward Shackelford, in 1978; a son, Charles Moore, in 1988; a daughter, June Helton, in 1998; four sisters; three brothers; and three grandchildren.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Lewis Tomlin of Laurel, Ind., Phyllis and William Hardy of Cynthiana, Ky., Sylvia and Howard Weatherly of Eaton, Carol and Patrick Norris of Lawton, Okla; a son and daughter-in-law, Wilbur and Doris Moore of Huntington, W. Va.; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were Friday, April 23, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, with the Rev. Clarence Brannon officiating. Burial was in Concord Cemetery in Dixon Township, near Eaton.

Gordon Brillhart
Gordon Brillhart, 84, of Lutheran Drive, Eaton, died Tuesday morning, April 20, at Greenbriar Nursing Center.
Born Oct. 27, 1914, in Preble County, he was the son of Marshall M. and Mary Ann (James) Brillhart. He was a 1934 graduate of Lanier High School. Mr. Brillhart was a Lanier Township farmer, retiring in 1977; a Lanier and Twin Valley South School bus driver; and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Eaton.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Irene (Coffman) Brillhart; a son, Gary L. Brillhart of Carlisle; a daughter and son-in-law, Kay L. and Bill Snead of Sharonville; three grandchildren, Michael Lee Brillhart of Clearwater, Fla., Michele Stacy of Franklin and William Snead II of Sharonville; one great-grandson, Michael Stacy; and cousins.
Funeral services were Friday, April 23, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, with Elder Russell Eller officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 120 N. Maple St., Eaton, Ohio 45320; or to the American Diabetic Association, 8899 Brookside Road, Suite #2, West Chester, Ohio 45069.

Ruth M. Strausburg
Ruth M. Strausburg, 95, formerly of Jordan Road, West Alexandria, died Wednesday, April 21, at Vancrest Healthcare Center in Eaton following a lengthy illness.
Born Jan. 19, 1904, in West Carrollton, she was the daughter of the late John and Katie (Hoke) Long. She was a charter member of the Brookville Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel L. Strausburg, on Feb. 9, 1982; and two sisters, Mary Stage and Ethel Woodruff.
Survivors include children and their families, Dorothy and Wes Crain of Tulsa, Okla., Howard and Frances Strausburg of West Alexandria, Ina and Henry Benbow of Greenville.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 24, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, with Pastor Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria.

Anna L. Counsil
Anna L. Counsil, 79, of 3255 East Avenue R, Palmdale, Calif., died Tuesday evening, April 20, at Lancaster Community Hospital in Lancaster, Calif.
Born April 30, 1919, in Preble County, she was the daughter of the late George and Ida (Phillips) Glick, and had resided in the California area for the past 37 years. She retired from Mrs. Wagner's Kitchen and as a nurse in the California area. She was a former member of the Fort Black Eastern Star Lodge #336 of New Madison, of which she was a past worthy matron.
Survivors include two sons, Billie Kimmel of New Madison and Roy Kimmel of Eldorado; a stepson, Richard Counsil of LaCresenta, Calif.; and a stepdaughter, Shirley VanLasa of Laguna Niguel, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Counsil, whom she married in 1963; a sister, Helen Duerr; a twin sister, Catherine Troutwine; and a brother, Harry Glick.
Visitation and burial were in California. A local memorial service was held Sunday, April 25, at the Eaton Church of Christ.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.

A. Marie Garber
A. Marie Garber, 93, formerly of New Paris, died Friday, April 23, at Heartland of Eaton.
Born Oct. 3, 1905, in Preble County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lillie (Fudge) Miller, and had lived in the county most of her life. She was a member of Eldorado United Methodist Church for many years.
Mrs. Garber was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight L. Garber, on Sept. 9, 1990; a son, Norman Garber; four grandchildren; and a stepbrother, Russell Miller.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Shyrigh of New Lebanon; a son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Janice Garber of Farmersville; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Garber of Cincinnati.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 27, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Walter M. O'Dell officiating. Burial was in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eldorado United Methodist Church.

Mabel C. Spraker
Mabel C. Spraker, 81, of 221 S. Maple Ave., Warsaw, Ind., died Saturday, April 17, in Warsaw.
Born Feb. 28, 1918, in Greensfork, Ind., she was the daughter of Carl and Jessie (Mull) Martin. She moved from Eaton to Warsaw in 1994. Mrs. Spraker was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Lester Spraker, whom she married Jan. 27, 1937, in Lynn, Ind.; a daughter, Kay Beam of Warsaw, Ind.; three grandchildren; four great-granchildren; three sisters, Sarah Brown and Mary Kaucher, both of Richmond, Ind., and Mildred Martin of Greensfork, Ind.; six brothers, Clyde and Howard, both of Richmond, Ind., Carl Jr. of Hagerstown, Ind., Guy and Kermit, both of Greensfork, Ind., and Paul of Farmersville; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Graveside services were held in Warsaw, Ind.

Florence N. Hoblit
Florence Newbauer Hoblit, 84, of Camden, died Wednesday, April 21, at the Suites of Greenbriar in Eaton.
Born Jan. 20, 1915, in Darke County, she was the daughter of Charles Ozro and Lizzie Marie (Brown) Everding. She married Raymond Newbauer on March 6, 1937, in Darke County, and later married Harold Hoblit in July 1975 in Montgomery County.
She was formerly employed by the Preble County Board of Mental Retardation, and had taught in several different school systems. She was a member of Camden United Methodist Church, Natural Foods Association, Greenpeace, a 4-H advisor, IFYE and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include daughters, Joyce (Jonathon) Crissinger of Star City, Ind., and Rita (Ray) Dill of Camden; a son, Douglas (Alicia) Newbauer of Tucker, Ga.; stepchildren, Dennis (JoAnne) Hoblit of Haines City, Fla., Charles (Elaine) Hoblit of Westminster, S.C., Ron (Becky) Hoblit of West Milton and Marilyn (Richard) Root of Winterhaven, Fla.; a sister, Iva Gant of Richmond, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; 26 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ray Newbauer in 1963 and Harold Hoblit in 1996; brother, Hubert Paul; sister, Anna Catherine; one great-granddaughter; and two great-great-granchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at Camden United Methodist Church, 100 S. Lafayette St., Camden, with Pastors Jackie Marshall and Gary Wood officiating. R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Camden United Methodist Church for the furtherance of handicap accessibility.

Georgia L. Mowell
Georgia Lois Mowell, 74, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of West Alexandria, died Sunday, April 25, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.
Born Oct. 19, 1924, she was the daughter of George and Ocie (Shipman) Sharp. Mrs. Mowell was a retired school bus driver from Twin Valley South High School, and was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Cincinnati. She had lived in Louisville for the past two years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, in 1994; a brother, James Sharp; and three sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas C. Mowell of Cincinnati, Kenneth E. Mowell of West Alexandria and Karl L. Mowell of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Sharp of Gary, Ind.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Larry Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.

James L. Eby
James Lee Eby, 54, of New Paris, died Sunday morning, April 25, in Richmond, Ind.
He was employed at the L&M Workshop in Eaton for over 20 years, and attended Grace Brethren Church in Glenwood.
Survivors include his parents, Dareld and Martha (Erisman) Eby of Eaton; brothers, Gerald of Lewisburg, Ronald of Eaton, Richard (Henritta) of Germantown; sisters, Sharon (George) Shell of Germantown, Linda (Ronald) Barnhart of Brookville; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29, at Rogers Funeral Home, New Lebanon, with Pastor Doris Arnett officiating. Burial will be in Holp Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Springs Care Center, 7739 U.S. 40, New Paris, Ohio 45347.

Douglas H. Staley
Douglas H. Staley, 73, of Camden, died Monday, April 26, at Woodland Country Manor near Somerville.
Born May 11, 1924, in Middletown, he was the son of Douglas C. and Minnie O. (Gividen) Staley. He was a graduate of Purdue University; was a U.S. Army veteran; and retired from Armco Steel in 1990, where he was a quality control supervisor, after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Christ on Laurel Avenue in Hamilton.
Survivors include his wife, Viola (Williston) Staley, whom he married Aug. 31, 1952, in Hamilton; two sons, Daniel Staley and Dave Staley, both of Camden; three daughters, Velma (Richard) Harrington of Gulfport, Miss., Linda Staley of Camden and Anna (Garry) Oliver of Alavaton, Ky.; six grandchildren; one brother, Ray Staley of Somerville; and three sisters, Eunice Sandgren of Kenewick, Wash., Clema Jo (Arthur Jr.) Atkinson of Grand Terrace, Calif., and Mildred (James) Spitler of Enon.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 30, at R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, 249 N. Main St., Camden, with the Rev. Charles Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 29, at the funeral home.

Raymond Faucett
Raymond Faucett, 90, of 13 River Court, Richmond, Ind., died unexpectedly Monday, April 26, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Born Feb. 2, 1909, in Connersville, Ind., he was the son of Alva and Mabel Belle (Decker) Faucett. He was a farmer in Ohio and Indiana; was a timber buyer for Mitchell Veneer of Greensburg, Ind.; worked for Crosley Corp./Avco Corp., International Harvester and Wayne Corp., all of Richmond, Ind. He was a faith healer for several years, and was a member of the Richmond Church of the Brethren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Faucett, in 1934; and two sisters, Eva Pottenger and Helen Stevens.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Harriet Elvira (Lilly) Faucett; five sons, Robert C. Faucett of Economy, Ind., Dwain L. Faucett of Lancaster, Pa., Joseph O. Faucett of Virginia, Harry R. Faucett and David E. Faucett, both of Richmond, Ind.
Also surviving are six daughters, Margaret A. Buroker and Donna M. Walcott, both of Richmond, Ind., Esther L. Lang of Centerville, Ind., Carolyn L. Harris of Dunlap, Tenn., Janet S. Roark of Ocala, Fla., and Naomi R. Vance of Fountain City, Ind.; a sister, Ada Langevin of Richmond, Ind.; 34 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. (Ohio time) Thursday, April 29, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., with the Rev. Clyde Hylton officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. (Ohio time) Wednesday, April 28, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Richmond Church of the Brethren, or to any favorite charity.
