Steven P. Cunningham
Steven Paul Cunningham, 52, of Camden, died Friday, May 21, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
He was born Oct. 11, 1946, in Cincinnati. He was a graduate of Miami University, holding a master's degree in accounting. Mr. Cunningham was president and director of internal auditoring at CHA Health in Lexington, Ky. He was also a member of the Plymouth Church of Christ in Cleveland, and a member of the Masons.
Survivors include his parents, Donna E. Cunningham of Camden, and Richard R. (Betty) Cunningham of Fairfield; two brothers, Richard R. Cunningham of Lancaster, Pa., and Jim (Jenny) Cunningham of Middletown; two sisters, Linda D. Cunningham of Fort Thomas, Ky., and Patti A. Gray of Richmond, Ind.
Funeral services were Monday, May 24, at R. C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral, Camden. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mason.

William Carson
William "Bill" Carson, formerly of the Eaton area, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 16, at his home in Reno, Nev.
Born March 28, 1940, he was the son of Charles and Cecilia Carson. He attended grade school in Eaton. After graduating from Xavier High School in Cincinnati, he enlisted in the Marines. He worked in Eaton before moving to Reno.
Survivors include his wife, Barb; a daughter, Kim Vickers of Alma, Ga.; a son, Jim Smith of Alabama; four grandchildren; a sister, Vera McKee of Richmond, Ind.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother and sister; and brothers, James and Charles Carson.
Funeral services were in Reno.

Martha F. Roe
Martha F. Roe, 78, formerly of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, May 19, at Hospice of Dayton after an extended illness.
Born Nov. 29, 1920, in Lewisburg, she was the daughter of John S. and Sylvia (Steiner) Skiles. She retired in 1982 as an operator for General Telephone Company of Brookville. Mrs. Roe was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Brookville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Roe, in October 1963; and two brothers, John E. Skiles and Milford Skiles.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Roe-Meeks of Brookville and Marsha Shannon of Eaton; a twin sister, Mary Longnecker of Arcanum; a sister, Jean Anderson of Lake Suzy, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jenni Phillips, Jane Combs and Jon Hoff; and three great-granddaughters.
Funeral services were Saturday, May 22, at Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel, with the Rev. David Justis officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.

Helen F. Raymer
Helen Frances Raymer, 66, formerly of Eaton, died Aug. 27, 1998, in Scranton, Pa., where she had lived since 1996.
Born Dec. 24, 1931, in Indianapolis, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Myrtle Mae (Hughley) McDonald. While in Eaton, she was a member of the Eaton Church of the Brethren, and was a member of the Mended Hearts, Inc., Chapter 61 of Dayton.
She was preceded in death on May 24, 1987, by her husband, Russell E. Raymer, whom she married July 25, 1950; and a sister, Margaret Westenhaver.
Survivors include children, Robert G. Raymer of Scranton, Pa., Cammy S. Shuler of Richmond, Ind., Revonna Baldridge and David Raymer, both of Plant City, Fla.; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond McDonald of Grapevine, Texas., and John McDonald of Horseshoe, N.C.
Graveside memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery, 3377 U.S. 35, West Alexandria, with Pastor Greg Hyre officiating. Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, is in charge of arrangements.

James Waller
James Waller, 69, of North Barron Street, Eaton, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 23, at his home.
Born April 24, 1930, in Preble County, he was the son of John and Ruth Marie (Jordan) Waller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Mary Hittle.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Waller of Eaton; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul "Pete" and Joan Waller of West Alexandria; nieces; and cousins.
Graveside services were Tuesday, May 25, at Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Daniel Snider officiating. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, was in charge of arrangements.

Fred E. Bowman
Fred E. Bowman, 73, of Wayne Trace Road, Eaton, died Monday, May 24, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Born Sept. 10, 1925, in Roanoke, Va., he was the son of Nathaniel and Ella (Showalter) Bowman. He was the owner and appliance service technician of Bowman Appliances in Eaton for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ruth Bowman; three daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Byron Miller of Waterford, Calif., Betty and Philip Cook of North Manchester, Ind., Mary Jane and John Beery of Athens, Wis.; a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Sally Bowman of Modesto, Calif.; a brother, Herman Bowman of Arcanum; a sister, Evelyn Sink of Rocky Mount, Va.; and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl Bowman and J.D. Bowman; and a sister, Elizabeth Bowman.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 28, at the Upper Twin Old German Baptist Church, West Alexandria, with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria. A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 28, at the funeral home.

Albert C. Reed Sr.
Albert C. "Pete Reed Sr., 71, of New Carlisle, died Wednesday night, June 30, at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield.
Born June 2, 1928, in Liberty, Ohio, he was the son of Samuel W. and Marie B. (Fortner) Reed. He had worked as a plumber, retiring in 1994 from Zengel Construction Company, Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roy Reed; and three sisters, Elsie Smith, Ruth Windhorst and Dorothy Faulknor.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; three daughters, Carolyn Thompson of Indian Springs, Nev., Debbie Rhome of Brighton, Mich., and Beverly Trichler of Eaton; four sons, Al Reed Jr. and Gary Reed, both of Dayton, Doug Reed of Miamisburg and Ron Reed of Trenton.
Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Diana Tragesser of New Carlisle; two stepsons, Jeff and Rod Demmitt, both of New Carlisle; 23 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Reed of Eaton; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 6, at Trostel, Chapman and Christmas Funeral Home, New Carlisle, with the Rev. Russell Lawson officiating. Burial was in Forest Hills Memory Gardens, Tipp City.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Gertrude Shock
Gertrude Shock, 100, of Eaton, died Thursday, July 1, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton.
Born Dec. 5, 1898, in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Peter Albert and Flora (Cheak) Swerer, and had lived in Preble County all her life. She was a member of Eaton United Church of Christ.
On Aug. 24, 1918, she married Leonard Shock, and he preceded her in death in May 1966.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Doris K. Shock; a son, Richard L. Shock; brothers, Willard and Robert Swerer; and a sister, Rebecca Bowman.
Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn Kisling of Eaton and Evelyn G. Hale of Las Vegas, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Davis of Hagerstown, Ind.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 6, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. James William Whitley officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton United Church of Christ, or to the Eaton Emergency Squad.

Orville J. Brubaker
Orville J. Brubaker, 92, of Eaton, died Thursday, July 1, at Governor Harris Homestead in Eaton.
Born Aug. 25, 1906, in Gasper Township (Preble County), he was the son of the late Jesse and Duvall (Frantz) Brubaker. He was owner of Prebco Manufacturing Co.; a member of the Eaton United Church of Christ; Bolivar Lodge #82, F&AM of Eaton; Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton for over 50 years; and the Farm Bureau.
On March 4, 1929, he married Dorothy M. Michael, and she died May 10, 1997. He was also preceded in death by a foster sister, Esther Coning.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Herman M. and Joan Brubaker of West Alexandria; a daughter and son-in-law, Margery B. and Stewart Prakel of Versailles; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Virgil Brubaker of Haines City, Fla.
Funeral services were Monday, July 5, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, followed by burial in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Edna Ehler
Edna Ehler, 78, of Ohio 503, Arcanum, died Thursday, July 1, in Eaton.
Born Feb. 2, 1921, in Preble County, she was the daughter of Silas and Emma (Weaver) Everding. She was a graduate of West Alexandria High School, was a housewife and farmer. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of West Alexandria.
Mrs. Ehler was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1979.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Ruby Everding of Dayton; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 6, at Salem Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Daniel Snider officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, was in charge of arrangements.

Glen J. Fourman
Glen J. "Shorty" Fourman, 92, formerly of Lewisburg, died Sunday, July 4, at Heartland of Eaton, where he had resided for the past 18 months.
Born Aug. 12, 1906, near Arcanum, he was the son of the late Joseph Leander and Ida J. (Fellers) Fourman. He was a retired Preble County farmer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Treva (Bunger) Fourman, in 1927; his second wife, Emma (Requarth) Fourman, in 1979; five brothers, Herby in 1889, Vernie in 1957, Harry in 1972, Ray in 1986 and Arlie in 1989; two sisters, Elcey Moyer in 1981, and Reva Wright in 1982.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn J. and Pat Fourman of Lewisburg; two granddaughters and their spouses, Constance Sue and David Rodrian, Jane Ann and Gary O'Neal; four great-grandchildren, Sarah and Alicia Rodrian, Kelly Potts and Christopher O'Neal; two great-great-grandchildren, Derritt O'Neal and Haylee Potts; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family on Thursday, July 8, at Ithaca Cemetery in Darke County. The Rev. James Lehman will officiate. Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewisburg Emergency Squad or to the Lewisburg Fire Department.
