James Ulrich
James Ulrich, 70, of Snellville, Ga., died Wednesday, June 2.
He was born in West Alexandria, and was a graduate of West Alexandria High School. He was a former resident of Kettering.
Survivors include his wife, Pat; a daughter, Missy Ulrich of Snellville, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Melanie Ulrich of Dallas, Ga., David and Colleen Ulrich of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and grandchildren, Heather, Chelsea and Jamie Ulrich of Dallas, Ga.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 5, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, Snellville, Ga.
Elmer E. Huffman
Elmer E. "Mike" Huffman, 86, of Eaton, died Friday, June 4, at Vancrest Health Care Center.
A native and lifelong resident of Eaton, he was born April 28, 1913, the son of the late Elbert and Jane (Mann) Huffman. He was a retired farmer, and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Eaton.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Wigger) Huffman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Larry Stoner of Lebanon, Phyllis and Carl Williams of Centerville, Ohio; four grandsons; two great-granddaughters; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Huffman; and a sister, Edna Hans.
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 7, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Brian Dillahunt officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, or to Hospice of Middletown.
Clarence M. Lindsey
Clarence M. "Dick" Lindsey, 85, formerly of Woodview Commons, Eaton, died Saturday, June 5, at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton.
Born Aug. 31, 1913, in Dayton, he was the son of the late David and Ethel (McDaniel) Lindsey. He retired in 1975 from the National Cash Register Company in Dayton. He was a member of Eagles Lodge #2202 in Eaton.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Davis, in 1954; and two brothers, Claude Lindsey, in 1959, and Charles Lindsey, in 1989.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Linda S. Stroud of Franklin, Carol A. Kiracofe, Connie R. and Mike Hudson of Eaton, Peggy J. and Larry Popps of Sidney, Neb.; three brothers, David Lindsey of West Manchester, Donald Lindsey of Dayton and Edward Lindsey of West Alexandria; two sisters, Beatrice Frenzy of Dayton and Elsie Lindsey of Eaton; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 8, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, with the Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Georgia F. McHenry
Georgia F. McHenry, 91, of Memphis, Tenn., died Saturday, May 22, after a brief illness.
She was born March 15, 1908, in West Florence. She was a graduate of Eaton High School and Ohio Wesleyan University, and for a number of years, taught jewelry and metal smithing at the Memphis College of Art. She married Edgar T. McHenry of Memphis, Tenn., in 1931 and resided in Memphis from the time of her marriage until her death. Mrs. McHenry was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church.
Mrs. McHenry's parents were Ross and Pauline (Frech) Focht, who lived most of their adult lives on East Main street in Eaton. Her father owned a farm near Eaton which is still in the family. For many years, he operated the Eaton Tire Service, which he sold a few years prior to his death in 1964 at the age of 80. Mrs. Focht died in 1978 at the age of 95, a few years after moving to Memphis to be near her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988.
Survivors include a son of Rockville, Md.; and a granddaughter of Hummelstown, Pa.
Nettie O. Stevens
Nettie Opal Stevens, 83, formerly of Mills Avenue, Norwood, Ohio, died Sunday, June 6, at Oxford View Nursing Center at Oxford.
Born Oct. 13, 1915, in Jackson County, Ky., she was the daughter of Price and Ellen (Smith) McQueen. She retired from Fifth Third Bank, where she had been employed in janitorial services.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Josie Stevens of Angola, Ind., Ronald and Joan Stevens of Hamilton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Hallie Williams of Berea, Ky., Margaret Carr and Jewell Cox, both of West Alexandria; a brother, Hiram McQueen of Waneta, Ky.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie Miller, Conley McQueen and Price McQueen; and two sisters, Carrie Reese and Gladys "Cordie" Isaacs.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, June 9, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Jerry Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Rose E. Bach
Rose E. Bach, 83, of LaPorte, Minn., died Sunday evening, July 4, at her home.
Born March 24, 1916, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Elsie Clippenger. She was born and raised in Ohio, and on Sept. 1, 1937, she married Burgess Bach in Preble County.
She and her husband vacationed in the LaPorte area beginning in 1955. In 1960, they founded and developed Northwoods Log Homes, and in 1965, moved to the LaPorte area full time.
Survivors include her husband, Burgess; two daughters, Julia (Ray) Kerby of LaPorte, Minn., and Janet Mobley of Lake Preston, S.D.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, July 7, at LaPorte Baptist Church, LaPorte, Minn. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Walker, Minn. Thomas-Dennis Funeral Home, Walker, Minn., was in charge of arrangements.
Mary A. Phares
Mary Ann Phares, 94, of Eaton, died Monday, July 5, at Greenbriar Nursing Center after an extended illness.
Born March 5, 1905, in Gnadenhutten, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Lycurgus Price "L.P." and Amelia (Miller) Barnes. She was a 1923 graduate of Eaton High School, and was the former owner and operator of Phares Drug Store in Eaton.
Mrs. Phares was a member of the Eaton United Church of Christ; Gleaners Chapter #182, Order of Eastern Star at West Alexandria; past deputy grand matron in 1947; past worthy matron of Iona Chapter #5 in 1935 and 1960; and served as secretary for 18 years of Iona Chapter in Eaton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Phares, in 1974; a son, David B. Phares, in 1942; sisters, Florence M. Becker, in 1987, and Grace L. Hogan, in 1989; brothers, Edward C. Barnes, in 1918, Paul F. Barnes, in 1960, and Walter M. Barnes, in 1991.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley A. and Ed Brubaker, Emily L. and Jim Shank, all of Eaton; a brother, Robert W. Barnes of Eaton; grandsons and spouse, Doug S. Manley of Cincinnati, Jeff A. and Linda Manley of Eaton; great-grandchildren, Shane and Ethan Manley of Eaton.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 10, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, with the Rev. Jay Whitley officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. Gleaners Chapter #182 conducted memorial services Friday evening at the funeral home.

Loran E. Smith
Loran Eugene Smith, 86, of 261 N. Main St., Eldorado, died Tuesday morning, July 6, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton following a lingering illness.
Born Oct. 11, 1912, in Monroe Township (Preble County), he was the son of Omar T. and Edith (Hayes) Smith. He was a graduate of Lewisburg Union High School, and a lifelong resident of the Lewisburg and Eldorado areas. He retired from General Motors (Frigidaire at Moraine City) after 39 1/2 years of service.
On April 2, 1935, he married Edna Marie Kasserman, who preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 1996.
Survivors include one daughter, Lois Skinner of Eldorado; three sons and daughters-in-law, Everett and Phyllis Smith of Orlando, Fla., Kenneth and Jeanine Smith of Indianapolis, Ind., Allan and Robin Smith of Kettering.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Randy Skinner, Greg, Todd and Bradley Smith, Shelley Offenbacker, Rhonda Fink, A.J. Hendrix, Angela Branham and Terri Messer; seven great-grandchildren, Samantha, Kyle, Trent, Jeffrey, Anthony, Adrianna and Tiffany; two sisters, Eunice Miller and Mary Heck, both of Lewisburg.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Billy Smith; a brother, Herbert Smith; and a son-in-law, Lee N. Skinner.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 10, at Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, Eldorado, with the Rev. Raymond A. Michel and Pastor Tony Fink officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg.
Richard Cunningham
Richard Cunningham, 78, of Fairfield, died Tuesday afternoon, July 6, at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield.
Born May 7, 1921, in Mason, he was the son of Richard and Mary Jane (Huskey) Cunningham. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served from 1942-44. Mr. Cunningham was a 1941 graduate of Bliss College of Business in Columbus.
He was the owner/operator of Cunningham Brothers Feed Mill in Camden for 30 years, then became a sales representative for Wilson Feed in Brookville, Ind., for 20 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of American Legion Post #138, VFW Post #1069 and the Knights of Columbus #968.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Mick) Joyce Cunningham, whom he married May 26, 1990, in Fairfield; two sons, Richard Cunningham of Lancaster, Pa., and Jim (Jenny) Cunningham of Middletown; two daughters, Linda Cunningham of Fort Thomas, Ky., and Patti Gray of Richmond, Ind.
Also surviving are two stepsons, Eric (Cathy) Joyce of Jacksonville, Fla., and Tony Joyce of Fairfield; two stepdaughters, Andrea (John Toerner) Joyce of Fairfield and Julie (Brian) Joyce-Smith of Hamilton; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven, in May; a brother, John; and a sister, Elizabeth.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 10, at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, Hamilton, with Father Jeff Silver officiating. Burial was in St. Stephen's Cemetery. American Legion Post #138 conducted memorial services at the funeral home Friday evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Scholarship Fund of Badin High School.
Priscilla Gillette
Priscilla Gillette, 65, of Lexington Road, West Alexandria, died Wednesday, July 7, at her home.
Born Oct. 17, 1933, in Lawrence, Ky., she was the daughter of Guan and Gladys (Fyffe) Ferguson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore E. Gillette.
Survivors include two sons, Theodore (Karin) Gillette of Eaton and John (Sharon) Sorrell of Salt Springs Island, British Columbia; two daughters, Yoshiko (Garrett) Lipps and Rachelle (Mark) Wamsley, both of West Alexandria; two grandchildren; several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 10, in Lawrence County, Ky. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, was in charge of local arrangements.
