Paul E. Taylor Sr.
Paul E. Taylor Sr., 74, of Ohio 722, Arcanum, died Saturday, Oct. 30, in Fairborn after an extended illness.
Born March 11, 1925, in Rose Hill, Va., he was the son of William F. and Minnie G. (Hobbs) Taylor. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Taylor was a member of DAV #104 and American Legion, both of Lewisburg, and VFW #8211 of West Milton.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael H. Taylor, in 1982; a granddaughter, Tiffany DeLong, in 1985; a brother, Herbert P. Taylor, in 1987; and a sister, Audrey Wilma Ingram, in 1986.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Bessie C. "B. Christine" (Weber) Taylor; three sons, Paul E. Taylor Jr. of Sweet Springs, Mo., James B. Taylor of Arcanum and Robert C. Taylor of Clermont, Fla.; four daughters, Juanita D. Kiel of Arcanum, Jennifer F. Taylor of Fairborn, Virginia M. Litchfield of Dayton and Evelyn L. McDonnell of Mainville, Ohio; a brother, "Bill" Eugene Taylor of Dayton; a sister, Thelma Ray of Rose Hill, Va.; and 19 grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel, with the Rev. Kurt Tomlinson officiating. Burial, with full military honors, was in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewisburg Emergency Unit.

Grace K. Weherley
Grace K. Weherley, 74, formerly of Dafler Road in West Alexandria, died Monday, Nov. 1, at Heartland of Eaton.
Born on June 12, 1925, in Dayton, she was the daughter of the late Orval Clarence and Clara Emma (McIntosh) Kisling. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lowell Weherley in 1957; a brother, Donald Kisling in 1991; a step grandchild, Joel Patrick Kleehammer, Jr. in 1993.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary #322 of West Alexandria.
She is survived by her husband of ten years, Ralph E. "Bud" Weherley, son and daughter-in-law Dennis H. and Betty A. Crowe of Hamilton; brother Keith K. Kisling of Eaton; sisters Hilda Mae Spitler of West Milton and Ruth Clarric Spencer of Eaton; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 4, at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, with the Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Interment was in the Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton.
Memorials may be made to the Eaton Fire Division, 328 N. Maple St., Eaton, OH 45320.

Lawrence Crowell
Lawrence Edward Crowell, 79, of Piqua, died Nov.1, at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.
Born in Eaton on Aug. 7, 1920, he was the son of the late Matthew and Almeda (Harris) Crowell of Greenville. He is survived by his wife, Martha M. (Lamkin) Crowell; the mother of his children, Leola Crowell, Greenville; children Leo Crowell, Greenville; Raine (Crowell) Hunt of Greenville; Lew Crowell of Powell; Leslie Crowell of Greenville; Lyle Crowell of Versailles; Linda (Crowell) McGlothin of Greenville; Lynn Crowell of Grinoeil, Iowa and Lavena (Crowell) Marker of Greenville; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four children, sons Larry and Leroy and daughter Leona and Loretta; and three brothers, Dorsey Crowell, Leonard Crowell and Walter Crowell.
Lawrence attended Number 9 School, a one-room school in Eaton, and was a member of the Church of the Brethren in New Carlisle. He was a member of the Piqua Masonic Lodge Warren #24 and the Dayton Scottish Rite.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 4, at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home in Piqua, with the Pastor Andrew Wright officiating. Interment was at Miami Memorial Park in Covington. Masonic services were held Thursday morning at Warren Lodge #24 followed by Dayton Scottish Rite.

James H. Tyler
James H. Tyler, 75, Eaton, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Regency Manor in Richmond, Ind.
He was born Dec. 6, 1923, in Richmond, Ind., to Homer and Alice (Jones) Tyler and lived in Preble County most of his life. He was a retired supervisor from Nibco in Dayton and was a U.S. Navy veteran of W.W. II. He was a former member of Elk's Onyx Lodge #479, Richmond, Ind., and American Legion Moore Irvin Post #359, Richmond, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his father; wife Elizabeth A. (Niles) Tyler on Jan. 19, 1998; brothers Kenneth and William Tyler.
He is survived by his mother Alice Boatright, Richmond, Ind.; daughter Billie Jean Johnson, Richmond, Ind.; step-daughter Elizabeth J. Bennet, Richmond, Ind.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; step-sister Carrie Elizabeth Watson, Cincinnati; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 5 at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with Rev. Martel Winburn officiating. Interment was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

James N. Wise
James Nathan Wise, 62, Largo, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 2, at his residence. He had lived in Florida for the past 12 years, and prior to that, 15 years in Houston, Texas.
Born Feb. 22, 1937 in Middletown, he lived there until moving to Kennard, Texas. He was employed in the fabricating plant at Armco Steel while living in Middletown and was the owner/operator of Wise Wheelchair in Largo, Fla. for 10 years. He was a member of the Woodlawn Church of God, Largo, Fla. and the Masonic Lodge of Eaton and Crockett, Texas.
Preceded in death by his father, James Woodrow Wise and step-father, Earl Huffman, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dorothy L. Wise; two daughters, Brenda (Rick) Kulms, Grapeland, Texas and Toni (Brent) Richey of Crockett, Texas; one son, James Nathan (Tracey) Wise II of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren, Rick Kulms, Nikki Kulms and Dustin Kulms of Grapeland, Texas; Mollie Richey and Courtney Richey of Crockett, Texas and Taylor Wise of St. Petersburg, Fla.; mother Geraldine (Rose) Huffman, Largo, Fla.; three sisters, Ginger (David) Dougherty, Gratis; Barbara Wise, West Chester; Pat (Don) Byrd of Deltona, Fla. and one brother, Ronald (Bonnie) Wells, Gratis.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Christian Assembly of God Church with the Pastor Don Dohm officiating. Interment was at Fairmound Cemetery, West Elkton. Funeral arrangements were made by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, Middletown.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 1123, Middletown, OH 45042.

Sharon Fudge
Sharon M. Fudge, 45, Eaton, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Reid Hospital, Richmond, Ind.
Born Sept. 6, 1954 in Troy to the late Willard and Pauline (Morgroos) Biser, she lived in Eaton most of her life. An Eaton graduate, she was a former employee of Baxter Travenol in Eaton.
She is survived by sons Jason and Travis of Eaton; sister Karen Biser, Eaton; brothers Gary Biser, Tipp City and Terry Biser, Celina; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Friday, Nov. 5, at Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria. Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, was in charge of arrangements.

Diane R. Matheny
Diane Renee (Rogers) Matheny, 33, of Camden, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, at her home after a battle with cancer.
Born Nov. 27, 1965, in Hamilton, she was a lifelong resident of Preble County and attended Preble Shawnee schools.
Survivors include her parents, William and Margie (Hunt) Rogers of Camden; two sons, Russell and Kyle Matheny, both of Lewisburg; two daughters, Andrea and Sarah Matheny, both of Lewisburg; seven brothers, William Jr. (Karen) Rogers of Eaton, Kenneth (Kathy) Rogers of Okeana, Ind., Phillip (Nettie) Rogers of Camden, Don (Mary) Rogers of Somerville, Dennis (Barbara) Rogers of Gratis, James (Pat) Rogers of Somerville and Mike (Lisa) Rogers of Camden.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 19, at the Camden First Church of God, Camden, with the Rev. Bobby Hollon officiating. Burial was in Fairmound Cemetery, West Elkton. R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden, was in charge of arrangements.

Arthur K. Jones
Arthur K. Jones, 91, of West Elkton, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Middletown Regional Hospital in Middletown.
Born Dec. 24, 1907, in West Elkton, he was the son of Charles M. and Emma R. (Kenworthy) Jones. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Europe during World War II, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. He was later self-employed as a bricklayer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Charles M. Jones.
There are no survivors.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 19, at R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden, with the Rev. Ruben Cabanillas officiating. Burial was in Fairmound Cemetery, West Elkton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gratis Township Life Squad, 4985 Camden-West Elkton Road, Somerville, OH 45064.

Christine Craft
Christine Craft, 77, formerly of Greenbush Road, Somerville, died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Woodland Country Manor Nursing Home in Somerville, where she had been a resident since 1996.
Born Aug. 18, 1922, in West Liberty, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Ambers and Paulina (Prater) Peyton, and had lived in the Somerville area for the past 57 years.
She worked at Inland Container Corporation, Sennet Container and Regal Packaging Company, all in Middletown, and had been retired for the past 17 years. She was a longtime member of the Order of Eastern Star, Camden Chapter #443 (Oxford #225).
She was preceded in death on Feb. 20, 1996, by her husband, Thomas L. Craft, whom she married Feb. 12, 1949; two sisters, Bernice Craft of Somerville and Margaurette Smith of Ezel, Ky.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and David O'Dell of Camden; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Lee Anne Craft of Middletown; granddaughter, Alison Craft of Middletown; brother, Delbert Donald Peyton of Owensville, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives.
Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 20, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, with Pastor Jerry Pelfrey officiating. Burial was in Preble Memory Gardens. OES Chapter #225 of Oxford conducted memorial services Friday evening during visitation at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami Valley Alzheimer's Association.

Herman E. Dalton
Herman E. "Brownie" Dalton, of Eaton, died Friday, Nov. 19, at his home after an extended illness.
Born in Hillsville, Va., he was the son of the late Lee and Artie Missie (Jennings) Dalton. He was raised in Lavern, Minn., and his family moved to Preble County when he was 10 years old. At the age of 17, he began working at the Hiestand Lumber Company Sawmill. He managed and operated the mill from 1954 until it closed in the early 1960s.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Dalton and Pearl Showalter, both in 1988; his twin brother, Sherman J. Dalton, in 1995; and three nephews, Ronald Showalter, Gary Showalter and Leroy Dalton.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Thelma I. (Price) Dalton; daughters and son-in-law, Carole E. and Dennis N. Boomershine of West Alexandria, and Marlene M. Frantz of Eaton; a sister-in-law, Laura Dalton of Eaton; a special nephew, John S. Dalton of Eaton; five grandchildren, Gregory L. (Barbara) Winn, Kelly E. (David) Montgomery, Tracy L. Campbell, all of Eaton, Stephen D. (Amy) Winn of Brookville, and Cynthia E. (Douglas) Miller of West Alexandria; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 22, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, with the Rev. Greg A. Hyre officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Emergency Squad, or to any Hospice Unit.

Mary L. Bailey
Mary Louise Bailey, 56, of Columbus, formerly of New Lebanon, died Saturday, Nov. 20.
Born Sept. 16, 1943, she was the daughter of Virgil and Erma (Craig) Agee, and a 1961 graduate of Eaton High School. She served for 29 years with her husband, the Rev. Richard Bailey, in the Assembly of God Church; and was currently a staff supervisor with Teen Challenge in Columbus for the past six and a half years. She was a member of the Evangel Temple Church Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas; her parents; and a brother, Loren Agee.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Richard Bailey; two daughters and son-in-law, Marlene and Bill Otis of Sarasota, Fla., and Cinda Johnson of McKinney, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Becky Bailey of Eaton, Tony and Holly Bailey of New Philadelphia, Ohio.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters and brother-in-law, Geneva and Kenneth Overholts of Eaton, and Norma Jean Reid of Clinton, Ontario, Canada; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald "Bud" and Bessie Agee of Eaton, William "Bill" and Betty Agee of Dayton.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 23, at the New Lebanon Assembly of God Church, followed by burial in Trissel Cemetery. Rogers Funeral Home, New Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Mrs. Bailey to assist with medical expenses.
