Kathryn E. Frech
Kathryn E. (Ernst) Frech, 95, of Indianapolis, Ind., died Friday, Dec. 17, at her home.
She was born March 16, 1904. Mrs. Frech was a homemaker and a member of the Meridian Street United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer W. Frech.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Frech; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Monday, Dec. 20, at Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. Flanner & Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary, Indianapolis, Ind., was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community VNA Hospice, 135 South B St., P.O. Box 7, Elwood, IN 46036.

Linda L. Beams
Linda L. Beams, 60, of Woodside Drive, West Alexandria, died Saturday, Dec. 18, at Grandview Hospital in Dayton.
Born Feb. 2, 1939, in Kokomo, Ind., she was the daughter of Ernest and Elnora (Wysong) Hankins.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Bobby Beams; a son, Ralph Beams of West Alexandria; a daughter, Cindy Bartlett of Eaton; a grandson, Aaron Bartlett of Eaton; her mother, Elnora Owens of Eaton; three brothers, George (Patty) Owens of Urbana, Roger (Brenda) Owens of West Alexandria and John (Sandy) Owens of New Lebanon; three sisters, Leslie (Joe) Johnston of Monticello, Ind., Linda (Frank) Summers of Lebanon, Ind., and Alma (Joe) Clay of Shelbyville, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Curt Johnson officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.

Clara L. Dempsey
Clara Lavinia Dempsey, 83, of Lewisburg-Western Road, Lewisburg, died Saturday, Dec. 18, at Hospice of Dayton.
Born Jan. 30, 1916, near Sunbury (Montgomery County), Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William and Rosa (McKee) Berry. She attended Spartanburg School in Randolph County, Ind., and retired from F & F Mold in Verona. She was a member of the Homemakers Club in Lewisburg.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Rosalene Dempsey, in 1938; a grandson, Johnny Dempsey, in 1970; brothers, Jack, Chester, Bruce and Kenneth Berry; and sisters, Helen Berry, Mildred Rose and Opal Hill.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Malcolm T. Dempsey; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Marilyn Dempsey, Andy and Lois Dempsey, all of Lewisburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Ronnie Daubenmire of Xenia, Shirley and Tom Louthan of Brookville, Helen and "Bud" Thokey of Clayton; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel, with the Rev. James N. Lehman officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewisburg Emergency Unit.

Pauline Jaymes
Pauline Jaymes, 60, of Orchard Hill Drive, Miamisburg, died Saturday, Dec. 18, at Middletown Hospital.
Born Dec. 27, 1938, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of Sam and Alma (Collinsworth) Long. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, George Jaymes; a son, Michael L. Jaymes of Dayton; a daughter, Teresa Suttles of Dayton, Tenn.; four grandchildren; a brother, Samuel Long Jr. of Hillsboro; and a sister, Imogene Dutze of Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, James I. Long and Neil Long.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 20, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, followed by burial in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis.

Judith I. Reed
Judith I. Reed, 60, of Little League Drive, Eaton, died Sunday, Dec. 19, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind., after a brief illness.
Born Oct. 18, 1939, in Wayne County, Ind., she was the daughter of the late John R. and Susan L. (Mendenhall) Inloe. She was a 1957 graduate of Camden High School, and had lived in Preble County all her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Leo Reed, in May 1996.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Scott T. and Deneen Reed of Eaton; stepsons, Tim Reed and Mark Reed, both of California; a stepdaughter, Cindy Madison of Arizona; a sister, Shirley Roach of Eaton; several step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., with the Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Emergency Squad or to the American Cancer Society - Preble County Unit.

Edgar D. Glander
Edgar D. Glander, 87, of West Manchester, died Monday, Dec. 20, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Born March 29, 1912, in West Manchester, he was the son of the late Wilbur F. and Sarah C. (Geeting) Glander, and had lived in Preble County all his life. He was a 1931 graduate of Monroe High School.
Mr. Glander was a retired truck driver and farmer; a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II; member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lewisburg; life member of American Legion Post #665, West Manchester; and served on the Preble County Fair Board for 16 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Veda Bernice Glander, in May 1958; and an infant sister.
Survivors include his wife, Helena K. (Bearfield) Glander, whom he married April 3, 1965; sons Edgar F. "Eddie" Glander of West Manchester, Scott A. Glander of West Alexandria, Kirk D. Glander of Eldorado; stepson, Donald E. Hodge of Limestone, Tenn.; two granddaughters, three grandsons, one step-granddaughter; and one step-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, with the Rev. James N. Lehman officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg. Family and friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Michael Chapel, West Manchester, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Preble County Cancer Society.

Bernice I. Wilson
Bernice I. "Bunny" Wilson, 82, formerly of West Manchester, died Sunday, Dec. 19, at Heartland of Greenville after an extended illness.
Born Nov. 30, 1917, in Richmond, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Maggie Ruby.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Marie Wilson of Eaton; a sister, Grace Ford of Eaton; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Wilson, on July 10, 1993; sisters, Alice Kelly, Anna Ramsey and Hazel Markey; and a brother, Earl Ruby.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Burial was in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Darke County, 122 W. Martz, Greenville, OH 45331.

Robert W. Barnes
Robert Woodrow Barnes, 86, of Eaton, died Saturday, Dec. 18, at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton.
Born April 4, 1913, in Gnadenhutten (Tuscarawas County), Ohio, he was the son of the late L.P. and Amelia (Miller) Barnes. He was the former owner/operator of the family-owned Barnes Funeral Homes, Inc.
Mr. Barnes received his Ohio Funeral Directors license in 1933 and had been active in the business for 66 years. He was a member of the Ohio Embalmers Association, and Ohio and National Funeral Directors Associations. He was a 1931 graduate of Eaton High School and a 1932 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Embalming.
He served as a corporal in the 147th Infantry Ohio National Guard from 1930-1940; was a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a registered official in football and basketball from 1933 to 1953, and had refereed many high school games in the Miami Valley.
Mr. Barnes joined the Eaton Volunteer Firemen in 1947, and retired as captain in December 1982. Of his 35 1/2 years with the fire department, he served 33 1/2 years as secretary/treasurer.
He was a 53-year member of the Eaton Lions Club, where he served as secretary (1948-1953), president (1955-1956), zone chairman (1950-1951), Key member in 1951, Advanced Key member in 1964, life member in 1990 and Melvin Jones Fellow in 1994.
He was a charter and life member of Fraternal Order of Eagles - Aerie #2202, Eaton; a member of Bolivar Lodge #82, F&AM, Eaton; Order of Eastern Star - Gleaners Chapter #182, West Alexandria; was a life member of Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton; a member of The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio #22, Eaton; and a member of St. Paul Methodist Church in Eaton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marydale (Fuhrman-Ryman) Barnes, in 1994; brothers, Edward Cecil Barnes in 1918, Paul Francis Barnes in 1960, and Walter Miller Barnes in 1991; sisters, Florence May Becker in 1987, Grace Louise Hogan in 1989 and Mary Ann Phares in 1999.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Robert C. and Sharon J. Barnes, Bruce L. and Rayna E. Barnes, all of Eaton; grandchildren, Brian R. and Erin M. Barnes, Stephen A. and Lori R. Barnes, all of Lewisburg, Michael H. Barnes of Eaton, William W. Barnes of Fairfield and Julie A. Barnes of Eaton; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Christina, Logan and Lorin Barnes, all of Lewisburg; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., with the Rev. Thomas H. Maxedon Jr. and the Rev. Richard VanTine officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. Eaton Lions Club and Masonic services were conducted Tuesday evening following visitation at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Fire Division, 328 N. Maple St., Eaton, OH 45320; to the Eaton Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 33, Eaton, OH 45320; or to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 120 N. Maple St., Eaton, OH 45320.

Helen Clevenger
Helen Clevenger, 76, of Camden, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Kettering Memorial Hospital in Kettering.
Born Feb. 6, 1923, in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late William and Lura (Darragh) Graham. She graduated from Gratis High School, and was employed at Miami University for 28 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Louis Clevenger, in 1995; her parents; one brother, Robert Graham; and one granddaughter, Laurie Jo Gray.
Survivors include four daughters, Connie Sue (Doug) Hubbard of Clermont, Fla.; Mary Jo (Bob) Abraham of Kissimmee, Fla., Patty (Jim) Sparks of Centerville, Ohio, and Karen Gray of Camden; one son, Jeff (Tina) Clevenger of Tulsa, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Harrison of Laramie, Wyo.; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 23, at R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden, with the Rev. Jackie Marshall officiating. There was no public visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor's choice.
