Keith K. Turner
Keith K. Turner, 88, formerly of West Manchester, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Trinity Community of Beavercreek after an extended illness.
Born Oct. 15, 1911, in Miami County, he was the son of the late Lynn and Anna Belle (Kessler) Turner, and had lived in Preble County most of his life. He retired from Sheffield/Bendix. Mr. Turner attended the West Manchester United Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah I. (Waldren) Turner, on June 21; brothers, Fremont Turner, Bruce Turner and Larry Turner.
Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Kahn of Lyden, Wash., Sandra Knodel of Shelby Township, Mich., and Marcia Newhouse of Dayton; four grandchildren; a brother, Dudley Turner of West Manchester; two sisters, Phoebe Stayton of Sidney and Joan Zuzola of Lewisburg; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St., Eaton. Burial will be in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
Klaus H. Friedrich
Klaus H. Friedrich, 58, of Eaton, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 22, following a lengthy illness.
Born Jan. 5, 1941, in Frankfurt, Germany, he was the son of the late George and Katie (Handel) Friedrich. He was self-employed for 15 years in the construction trades in the Eaton area.
Survivors include his children, Krista M. Barnett of Eaton, Linda Lee Granger of Alaska and Klaus Dieter Friedrich of Germany; grandchildren, Christopher A. Davis and Dustin M. Barnett of Eaton, four grandchildren in Alaska and four grandchildren in Germany; and two sisters, Evelyn Hartbarger of Franklin and Erika Pironti of Germany.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 27, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, followed by burial in Preble Memory Gardens.
Roy Keaton
Roy Keaton, 82, of Fairhaven, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, at his home.
Born Oct. 15, 1917, in Brookville, Ind., he was the son of William and Anna (Johnson) Keaton. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Keaton was employed at Miami University as a construction laborer until his retirement, and had also been employed by Sheely Construction and the City of Hamilton. He attended Fairhaven Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby (Deason) Keaton, whom he married Dec. 31, 1938, in Newport, Ky.; two brothers, George Keaton and George Horstman; and three sisters, Jessie Stewart, Ruby Thompson and Daisy Dealy.
Survivors include five daughters, Barbara (William) Moreland of Camden, Ruby (Charles) Tucker of Richmond, Ind., Terry (Jim) Stephen of Liberty, Ind., Phyllis Ingram of Fairhaven and Carolyn (Sam) Cash of Liberty, Ind.; two sisters, Elizabeth Bley of Edna, Texas, and Cora Smith of Hamilton; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Evelyn Parks.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 27, at Fairhaven Community Church in Fairhaven, with the Rev. John Crutchfield officiating. Burial was in Fairhaven Cemetery. R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden, was in charge of arrangements.
Alfred Ferrie
Alfred Ferrie, 72, of Mary Kay Drive, Gratis, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Heartland of Eaton.
Born July 22, 1927, in Taunton, Mass., he was the son of Manuel and Mary (Carvalho) Ferrie. He retired from Aacco Company in Torrence, Calif., where he was a supervisor of aircraft castings.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian O. Ferrie, in 1990; and 20 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a son, Michael Ferrie of California; three daughters, Debra Kimberlin of Gratis, Robin Ferrie of Los Angeles, Calif., and Susan Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services were Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the convenience of the family. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, was in charge of arrangements.
Raymond Ashworth
Raymond "Pete" Ashworth, 82, of Jordan Road, West Alexandria, died Thursday, Dec. 23, at Hospice of Dayton.
Born May 13, 1917, in Richmond, Ind., he was the son of Raymond and Maude (Kaucher) Ashinger. He retired from Inland Manufacturing in 1982 after 43 years and was a member of the Inland Retirees Club.
Mr. Ashworth was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of James E. Ryan Post #322 American Legion and Post #8066 VFW. He was a former square dancer in the Lewisburg Promenaders, and was a member of the West Alexandria Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ruth Ashinger; a daughter and son-in-law, Ronda and P. Kent Richison of New Lebanon; and a grandson, Samuel Richison.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 27, at the West Alexandria Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Philip Dell officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery near West Alexandria. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, was in charge of arrangements.

Helen M. Woodbury
Helen M. Woodbury, 90, of Eaton, died Friday morning, Dec. 24, at Heartland of Eaton after an extended illness.
Born Oct. 11, 1909, in Hamilton County, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Ida A. (Weihmeiar) Meyer. She had formerly lived in Dayton, and moved to Alden, Mich., in 1972 and to Eaton in 1993. She was the financial secretary at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Dayton for 17 years.
Mrs. Woodbury was a member of Belair United Methodist Church at Belair, Mich.; past mother advisor of Rainbow Girls; and past member and worthy matron of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Levi Woodbury, in 1982; two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Shirley Woodbury of Eaton; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Donald Rabold of Jupiter, Fla.; and a sister, Heneretta Cortney of Cincinnati.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Concord Church Cemetery, Englewood. Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred S. Robison
Mildred S. Robison, 93, of Eaton, died Saturday, Dec. 25, at Heartland of Eaton.
Born March 16, 1906, in Eaton Rapids, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Julius E. and Harriett (Wiseman) Smith. She had been a seamstress and Avon sales representative in the Kansas City, Mo., area before moving to Eaton in 1976.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William S. Holliday Jr., in 1943; and two brothers, Dale L. Smith and Carl E. Smith.
Survivors include a sister, Lois V. Brown of Eaton; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., with the Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Delbert G. Arthur
Delbert Gene Arthur, 61, of New Paris, died Sunday, Dec. 26, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Born Jan. 27, 1938, in Darke County (Harrison Township), he was the son of Robert and Hazel Viola (Rhoades) Arthur. He had lived in the New Paris area all his life, and attended L&M Products in Eaton.
Survivors include his mother, Hazel V. Arthur of New Paris; two brothers and sister-in-law, Stanley and Janet Arthur, and Raymond Arthur, all of New Paris; and a niece, Tina Riegel of Eaton.
Graveside services were Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris, with the Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Barnes Funeral Home-New Paris Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Murray A. Phares
Murray A. Phares, 77, of Germantown, died Monday, Dec. 27.
Born June 29, 1922, he was the son of the late Arthur E. and Amanda E. (McCormick) Phares. He retired from Frigidaire Division (Plant #2) of General Motors in 1976 after 30 years of service, and farmed for more than 15 years in the West Elkton area.
Mr. Phares was a former member of the Lions Club International in Beechwood, Ohio, a former Boy Scout committeeman for Germantown Troop #29, and was a social member of the Germantown Eagles #2292. He attended both Good Shepherd and Greenbush United Methodist Churches.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Childs.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Lou (Stephen) Phares; a daughter, Jo Ann (Doug) Schmidt of Middletown; two sons, James S. (the Rev. Dawn) Phares of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Jay (Michelle) Phares of Germantown; and six grandchildren, Amber Phares of Santa Rosa, Calif., Hannah Phares of Bettendorf, Iowa, Chelsea and Spencer Schmidt of Middletown, Logan and Emerson Phares of Germantown.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Dalton Funeral Home, corner of Ohio 4 and Weaver Road, Germantown, with the Rev. Sivaji Subramaniam, the Rev. Gary Wood and the Rev. Dawn Phares officiating. Burial will be in Simonson Chapel Cemetery, Trenton. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home.

Donald E. Yost
Donald E. Yost, 75, of Gratis, died Monday, Dec. 27, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Born July 22, 1924, in Gratis Township, he was the son of Robert Scott and Ruth (Meyer) Yost. He married Uella Roesch on Sept. 29, 1945, at Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Ala. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years, and was engaged in dairy farming for 45 years.
Mr. Yost served on the Preble Landmark Board of Directors for 27 years and the Livestock Producers Board for multiple terms. For more than 10 years, he served as a 4-H advisor.
He also served on the Dairy COBA Board, DHIA Board, Extension Advisory Board, 1st National Bank of Southwestern Ohio Board of Directors, Gratis School Board, and was a charter member of Farm Bureau Council #16. He held various offices at Salem Lutheran Church, West Alexandria, and the State Road United Methodist Church, Germantown, where he was a member.
Survivors include his wife, Uella; two sons, Marion Robert (Jennifer) Yost of Silver City, N.M., and Dr. William Michael (Donna) Yost of Orrville, Ohio; one daughter, Maribeth (Daniel) Hays of Camden; and one sister, Marilyn (Harold) Coning of New Lebanon; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be a 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at State Road United Methodist Church, Germantown, with Pastor Gary Wood officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, 249 N. Main St., Camden.
