Onah M. Johnson
Onah M. (Schlotterbeck) Johnson, a native and former longtime resident of Lewisburg, died Thursday, March 13, 1997, in Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Johnson.
Survivors include one daughter, Judith Ann; one sister, Mary Mann; one brother, Lester Schlotterbeck, niece and nephews, Linda Schlotterbeck-Hinemann, Russell E. Mann and Elkannah Schlotterbeck.
Private services will be Friday, March 21.

Florence Michael Burke
Florence Alberta Michael Burke, 81, formerly of Camden, died Friday, March 14, 1997, at Oxford View Nursing Home in Oxford, where she had been a resident for a year.
Born Dec. 28, 1915, in Wayne Township (Butler County), she was the daughter of William Jacob and Mary Anna (Schueler) Gault. She was a graduate of Darrtown High School, and retired from the Preble County Children's Home after having worked several years as housemother and cook. She was a member of Camden Pentecostal Church in Camden.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Russell Michael, whom she married April 19, 1935, in Liberty, Ind.; and her second husband, George Burke.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Connie Michael, Steve and Mary Michael, all of Camden, Danny and Mary Michael of New Madison, Paul and Beth Michael of Eaton; Jack and Ireta Michael of Indiana; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Floyd Hileman of Camden.
Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Gault of Seven Mile and William Gault of Frost Proof, Fla.; and one sister, Myrtle Jewell of Hamilton.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Norman Charles Michael; a daughter, Mary Florence Michael; eight brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 18, at R.C. Nein and Sons Funeral Home, Camden, with the Rev. Mike Gadd officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
James E. Anderson
James E. Anderson, 56, of Dayton, died Saturday morning, March 15, 1997, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton after an extended illness.
Born May 26, 1940, in Cookville County, Tenn., he was the son of James I. and Velma J. (Jackson) Anderson. He had lived in Dayton most of his life and attended Greenview Calvary Tabernacle in Dayton.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Lula (Gadd) Anderson; three sons, James Anderson, Ronnie Anderson and Jeffrey Anderson, all of Dayton; one daughter, Eva Letner of Dayton; one brother, Glenn Anderson of Florida; one sister, Claudine Boggs of Wilmington; eight grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Shelton; and two brothers, Charles and Harold Anderson.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 18, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Norman L. Livingston officiating. Burial was in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria.
Mary K. Bundy
Mary Kathrine Bundy, 82, of Brookville, died Sunday, March 16, 1997, at her home.
Born Feb. 19, 1915, in Dayton, she was the daughter of George and Grace Elizabeth (Sirran) Koontz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston Davis Bundy; and two sons, William and Ed Bundy.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jean E. and Franklin White of Lee, Fla.; a friend, Tom Terbay of Brookville; daughter-in-law, Joanne Bundy of West Alexandria; a cousin; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, 3377 U.S. 35, West Alexandria, with Father Thomas J. Grilliot officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
Lola H. Wassom
Lola H. Wassom, 83, formerly of Holtzmuller Road, West Manchester, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, at The Brethren's Home in Greenville after an extended illness.
Born April 4, 1913, in Jackson County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Artford and Avo (Lee) Harris and had lived in Preble County since 1948. She had worked at Clifton Uniform Shirt Co. in Eaton. She was a longtime member of West Manchester United Methodist Church and the ladies auxiliary of the church, and had volunteered at Heartland of Eaton for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Jarvis P. Wassom, a resident of The Brethren's Home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joel F. and Betty Wassom of West Manchester and Jerry R. and Patti Wassom of Warner Robins, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy K. and Joe Fuller of Clio Mich.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Sowl of Salisbury, N.C.; nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Lee Variglote and Ina Whitson, are deceased.
Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 14, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Kevin Erickson officiating. Burial was in Monroe Cemetery, Eldorado.

Eugene E. Thompson
Eugene E. Thompson, 79, of Camden, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Born April 3, 1917, in Butler County, he was the son of Edward and Sadie (Newton) Thompson.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Thompson of West Alexandria and Roger Thompson of Camden; one daughter, Shirley (John) VanEs of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter-in-law, Norma Thompson; two sisters, Elizabeth Armstrong of Camden and Martha Benner of Eaton; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Eugene and James Thompson; his parents; a brother, Otis Thompson; and sister, Mary Day.
Private funeral services were Friday, Feb. 14, at R.C. Nein and Sons Funeral Home, Camden, followed by burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden. There was no visitation.
Elizabeth J. Arthur
Elizabeth Jane Arthur, 85, of 290 Prairie Ave., Wilmington, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.
Memorial services were Saturday, Feb. 15, at First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, Wilmington. Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, Wilmington, was in charge of arrangements.

Eva M. Hoffman
Eva Mae Hoffman, 79, of Alpena, Mich., formerly of Lewisburg, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997, at Tendercare in Alpena after a short illness.
Born Aug. 27, 1917, in Eaton, she was the daughter of Calvin L. and Hazel (Sauer) Hoffman, She was a graduate of Monroe Township High School and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewisburg. She moved to Alpena in 1975.
Survivors include one sister, Mildred Newman of Alpena, Mich.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel, followed by burial in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg.
David W. Olendorf Sr.
David W. Olendorf Sr., 85, of Arcanum, formerly of Brookville, died Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at his home following a brief illness.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, David W. Olendorf Jr. of New Paris and Paul W. and Dana Olendorf of Pikeville, Tenn.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Davena and Jim Lightcap of Pikeville, Tenn., and Betty and Gene Schultz of Greenville; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 17, at Gilbert-Fellers Funeral Home, Brookville, with Pastor Joseph G. Soley officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Brookville.

Frances M. Saladin
Frances M. Saladin, 77, of 253 Wayne Trace Road, Eaton, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 15, 1997, at Westview Acres Care Center in Eaton.
Born Jan. 29, 1920, in Chattanooga, Tenn., she was the daughter of James G. and Mary E. (House) Truitt. She had lived in New Lebanon before moving to Eaton in 1973. She retired in 1990 from the Eaton Police Department after 10 years of service as a clerk.
Mrs. Saladin was a member and past matron of Eastern Star Chapter #155 of Farmersville, a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, past mother advisor of Rainbow Girls -- Farmersville Assembly #131.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Julia A. and William B. Withrow of Eaton; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul E. and Vickie Saladin of Germantown, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, with the Rev. Glen Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. Eastern Star services were conducted following visitation Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Martha C. Smith
Martha C. Smith, 78, formerly of Huber Heights, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, in Richmond, Ind.
Born Feb. 1, 1919, in Springfield, she was the daughter of Albert and Zeda (Marshall) Finney. She retired in 1985 from the Clark County school system after 30 years as a teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Smith.
Survivors include two daughters, Zeda Downing of Savannah, Ga., and Stephania Jenks of Kingwood, Texas; grandchildren, Shelley Metz of Eaton, Chad Chadwell of Savannah, Ga., and Joseph Jenks of Kingwood, Texas; and a great-grandson, Nathaniel Metz of Eaton.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, is in charge of arrangements.
Alice M. Klinger
Alice M. Klinger, 43, of 307 N. Main St., West Manchester, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton after a brief illness.
She was born Jan 20, 1954, in Dayton. Mrs. Klinger was a teacher for 20 years, with 16 of those years at C.R. Coblentz Middle School. She attended Wares Chapel United Methodist Church; was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Delta Omega, Ohio; was a West Manchester Community Swimming Pool board member; and a Cancer Support Group member.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Klinger, whom she married June 20, 1982; her parents, Ralph and Virginia (Bennett) Clark of Arcanum; grandmother, Minnie Clark of Greenville; a daughter, Kelli Klinger of West Manchester; a son, Russell "Rusty" Klinger of West Manchester; two sisters, Shirley Clark and Connie Montgomery, both of Crooksville, Ohio; two brothers, Richard Clark of Arcanum and William Bennett of Statesboro, Ga.; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Michael Chapel, West Manchester, with the Rev. Jim Condrey officiating. Burial will be in Wares Chapel Cemetery, West Manchester.
