Glenn H. Chasteen
Glenn H. "Budd" Chasteen, 41, formerly of Gratis, died Monday, April 10, in Jenison, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Glenn Chasteen, in 1985, and Dulayne (Hatch) Chasteen, in 1970.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served 13 years.
Survivors include two sons, Jason Chasteen of Ft. Drum, N.Y., and Eric Chasteen of Ft. Hood, Texas; stepchildren, Joshua, Ashlee, Cody and Jeremiah, all of Michigan; his mother, Nokie (Ronnie) Myers of Gratis; maternal grandmothers, Rosa Gevedon of Camden and Martha Hatch of Medway.
Also surviving are three brothers, Bill (Jeannie) Chasteen of Lilly, Ky., Shane Chasteen of McKee, Ky., and Joe Chasteen of Eaton; four sisters, Joyce (Mark) Miller of New Paris, Lori York, Debbie Nelson and Mary (Mike) McClanahan, all of Eaton; Lori Rogers of Grand Rapids, Mich., mother of Jason and Eric Chasteen; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Lori and Scott Campbell of Jenison, Mich., with whom he lived.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 15, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Gratis, with the Rev. Bryon Gevedon officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis.
Eula C. McIntosh
Eula C. McIntosh, 89, of Eaton, died Thursday, April 13, at Governor Harris Homestead.
Born May 4, 1910, in Wolf, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Simon William and Corda (Edwards) Cockrell. She was retired from Dayton Tire & Rubber Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dailey McIntosh, on March 25, 1986; six brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include daughters, Wanda White of Eaton and Jerlene White of West Alexandria; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Private family services were Monday, April 17, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Raymond E. Rothwell officiating. There was no public calling. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.
Everett A. Eikenberry
Everett A. Eikenberry, 90, of Eaton, died Saturday, April 15, at Greenbriar Nursing Center.
Born July 29, 1909, in Preble County, he was the son of the late Frank M. and Emma (Aukerman) Eikenberry. He was a 1927 graduate of Lanier High School, and a member of the Upper Twin Old German Baptist Church. He retired in 1986 as owner/operator of E.A. Eikenberry Produce at Eaton.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys E. Eikenberry, in 1989.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ferne V. (Brubaker) Eikenberry; a brother, Virgil E. Eikenberry of Eaton; nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. at the Upper Twin Old German Baptist Church, 3614 Halderman Road, West Alexandria, with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis.
C. Gladys Hall
C. Gladys Hall, 99, of Germantown, died Sunday, April 16, at Hospice of Dayton.
Born Jan. 17, 1901, in Preble County, she was the daughter of Wert and Ida Belle (Littell) Whipp. She was a homemaker most of her life, and a member of the State Road United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl E. Moyer, in 1940; her second husband, Raymond Hall, in 1987; a sister, Voleria Donson; and a grandchild.
Survivors include three sons, Edwin (Gerdie) Moyer of Eaton, Carl (Louella) Moyer of Germantown, Norman (Louella) Moyer of Farmersville; four daughters, Lenora (Clarence) Brown and Virginia Stolz, both of West Carrollton, Janet (Keith) Buckmaster of Springfield and Shirley (Joe) Emrick of Farmersville.
Also surviving are two stepsons, Bill (Laverne) Hall of California, John (Pauline) Hall of West Middletown; two stepdaughters, Betty (Harvey) Stone of Middletown and Pat (John) Curtis of Carson, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Gratis, with the Rev. Gary Wood officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis. The family will receive friends from 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Christopher E. Cain Sr.
Christopher E. Cain Sr., 43, of West Alexandria, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, April 15.
He was born Nov. 11, 1956, in Dayton, he was president of Industrial Systems & Manufacturing in West Carrollton, and was a member of the North Congregation of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Eaton.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell E. Cain Jr.; maternal grandfather, Bernhard Behnken; maternal grandmother, Marjorie Alice Rose; and father-in-law, James Secrest.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy S. (Secrest) Cain, whom he married April 27, 1974; a son, Christopher E. Cain Jr. and fiancée, Diana Goldzwig of Eaton; daughters and sons-in-law, Nikole and Jesse Moore of Centerville, Ohio, Samantha and Tom Batsche of West Alexandria.
Also surviving are his parents, Lowell E. and Beverly Ann (Behnken) Cain of West Alexandria, brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard E. and Tammy Cain, Brian G. and Betty Cain, all of Dayton; grandmother, Dorothy Behnken of Dayton; mother-in-law, Jeannette Secrest of Cincinnati; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 229 Wayne Trace Road, Eaton, with Elder Dale Swank officiating. Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, is in charge of arrangements.

Geneva H. Himelick
Geneva H. Himelick, 77, of 125 Garwood Road, Richmond, Ind., died Monday, April 17, at her home.
Born June 10, 1922, in Springfield Township (Franklin County), Ind., she was the daughter of George "Woody" and Nellie (Luse) Myers. She had lived in Richmond since December 1990, moving there from Liberty, Ind. She retired in 1984 from the Liberty School system, and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Howard G. Himelick, whom she married Nov. 18, 1942; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Moore Himelick of Portland, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Tracy Renee Himelick Dwyer of Hamilton; two step-grandsons, Brian Bertsch of Portland, Tenn., and Marc Himelick of Hermitage, Tenn.; a great-granddaughter; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Myers of North Carolina and Bob Myers of Aurora, Ind.; a sister, Edna Marie Green of Eaton; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, H. Gordon Himelick; a brother, John Myers; and a sister, Mary Myers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. (Indiana time) on Thursday, April 20, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, Ind., with Pastor Dillahunt officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. (Indiana time) on Wednesday, April 19, at the funeral home.
Rilla M. Click
Rilla M. Click, 86, of New Lebanon, died Monday, April 17, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
Born May 23, 1913, in Stokes County, N.C., she was the daughter of Martha and Henry Shelton. She resided in Trotwood until moving to New Lebanon in 1961. Mrs. Click was an employee of the Rike-Kumler Company for 24 years, and was a member of the Eversole Church of the Brethren.
She was preceded in death on Jan. 18, 1988, by her husband, Ralph E. Click, whom she married July 2, 1937; sisters, Alma Murphy and Velma Robertson; and brothers, Henry, Willie, Otis and Doyle Shelton, all of North Carolina.
Survivors include her children, Helen (Tom) Watson of Sylvania, Ohio, Donald Gerald (Kay) Click of Fairborn, David L. Click and Maurice E. Click, both of Dayton; grandchildren and spouses and great-grandchildren, Daniel and Gayle Watson and son Daniel II, Dennis and Rose Watson and daughter Maria, Roy and Barb Watson, Tom and Stephanie Watson, Joey Click and son Taylor, Eddie Click, Donna Click and daughters, Rio and Alexus; and a sister, Catherine Mounce of Eden, N.C.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 20, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, with Pastor Mark Bowman officiating. Burial was in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria.

H. Michelle Necessary
H. Michelle "Shelly" Necessary, 32, of 133 Liberty St., Hollansburg, died Monday, April 17, at Wayne Hospital in Greenville.
Born July 30, 1968, she was a native and lifelong resident of Hollansburg. She was a 1986 graduate of Tri-Village High School, a 1988 graduate of the California College of Respiratory Therapy, and had been a certified respiratory therapist at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind., for 12 years. She was a member of the Hollansburg Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Terry S. Necessary, whom she married April 22, 1995; a daughter, Morgan Michelle Small, at home; a son, Tyler Jay Small, at home; her parents, Joe and Mary (Starks) Lizak; a brother, Edward Lizak of Fairfield; and two nieces.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 22, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, Richmond, Ind., with the Rev. Charles McMahan and the Rev. Kyle Herrman officiating. Burial was in Hollansburg Cemetery.

Mildred A. Eubanks
Mildred A. Eubanks, 88, of West Alexandria, died Thursday, April 20, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
Born July 25, 1911, in Benton Harbor, Mich., she was the daughter of Elton and Martha (Lindt) Holmes. She had retired from Inland Manufacturing in 1971 after 16 years.
Mrs. Eubanks was a member of the First Brethren Church for 52 years, First Brethren Senior Saints, WACOCO Food Bank a charter member of Inland Retirees, a member of the Round Table, and driver for Red Cross Meals on Wheels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel, in 1956.
Survivors include a son, Lionel (Cora Beth) Eubanks of Bainbridge, Ohio; three daughters, Marilyn Ward, Carol (Dan) Gilbert and Wanda (John) DeVilbiss, all of West Alexandria; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Allene Glendening of Palmetto, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Ruth Eubanks of West Alexandria; a daughter-in-law, Carol Jean Eubanks of West Alexandria; and a dear friend, Barbara Klinger of West Alexandria.
Funeral services were Monday, April 24, at the First Brethren Church, West Alexandria, with Dustin Vorhis officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, was in charge of arrangements.

Robert Kelley Jr.
Robert Kelley Jr., 75, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, April 19, at his home.
Born July 26, 1924, in Camden, he was the son of the late Robert Sr. and Alice (Ruby) Kelley. He had lived in the Lewisburg area for 27 years. Mr. Kelley was a veteran of World War II and a retired stockman for Vindale Homes in Brookville. He was a former member of the Eagles Lodge #2202 and VFW Post #8066, both in Eaton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Madonna Lou (Wessel) Kelley, in 1974; sons, Richie Kelley, in 1972, and Ryan Kelley, in 1974; brothers, Earl, Elmer and James W. Kelley; and a sister, Betty Horn.
Survivors include sons, Robert Kelley III of Lewisburg, Timmy Kelley and Toby Kelley, both of Madison, Wis., Mark Traylor of West Virginia, Kevin Traylor of New Paris and Jeff Traylor of Oxford; a daughter, Laurie Weireter of West Manchester.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Kelley of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Frances Manning, Carolyn Powelson and Patty Bechtol, all of Eaton, Norma Ross of Eldorado and Shirley Staubs of California.
A Service of Remembrance was held Saturday, April 22, at 7080 East Lock Road, Lewisburg. Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Ruth M. Earman
Ruth Miriam Earman, 85, of Brookville, died Thursday, April 20, at BrookHaven Nursing and Care Center in Brookville, where she had been a resident since 1992. She was a former resident of Preble County and Richmond, Ind.
Born Aug. 12, 1914, in Eaton, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Lucy C. (Hart) Earman. She retired in 1979 from Belden Corporation in Richmond. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and area bowling leagues.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alan Earman, in 1910, and Stanley Earman, in 1948.
Survivors include a brother, Ralph F. Earman of Eaton; and a sister, Mildred Beson of Brookville.
Funeral services were Monday, April 24, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, with the Rev. Thomas H. Maxedon Jr. officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Eleanor R. Kelley
Eleanor R. Kelley, 89, formerly of Lewisburg, died Friday, April 21, at Otterbein Home of Lebanon.
She was born March 29, 1911, in Dayton, and was a member of the North Riverdale Lutheran Church in Dayton.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Harriet Catherine (Hagerman) Ralston; her husband, Ellis E. Kelley, in January 1995; a daughter, Ann Lorraine Kelley, in 1942; and a sister, Lorraine Reynolds, in March 1999.
Survivors include daughters, Marilyn Clemens of Miami, Fla., Ruth Schlofner of Sacramento, Calif., and Martha Kelley of Middletown; sons, Robert Kelley of Dayton and David Kelley of Wendell, N.C.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, with the Rev. Monte Stevens and the Rev. James Lehman officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg. Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel was in charge of arrrangements.

Elvas C. Tumbleson
Elvas C. "Abe" Tumbleson, 86, of New Paris, died Thursday, April 20, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
He was born Dec. 18, 1913, in West Union, Ohio. He retired from General Motors-Frigidaire Division in Dayton, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion Post #360 in New Paris.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae (Pendergrass) Tumbleson in December 1979; a sister and a brother.
Survivors include his special friend and companion of 20 years, Judy Wood of New Paris; stepdaughters, Helen Rogers of Camden and Winnifred Rutherford of Hamilton; and a brother, Paul Tumbleson.
Funeral services were Monday, April 24, at Barnes Funeral Home-New Paris Chapel, with the Rev. Don Boyer officiating. Burial, with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard, was in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris.
Dorothy L. Besecker
Dorothy L. Besecker, 86, formerly of Lexington-Salem Road, West Alexandria, died Sunday morning, April 23, at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton.
Born Feb. 14, 1914, in Gratis, she was the daughter of the late Homer O. and Anna E. (House) Hoff. She was a 1933 graduate of Lewisburg-Union High School, and retired after 11 years of service with Twin Valley South Schools. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in West Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold H. Roselius, in 1951; her second husband, Russell L. Besecker, in 1982; and two sisters, Ida Hundley and Loretta Harris.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta A. and Joseph Painter of Dayton; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael L. and Linda Besecker of West Alexandria; three sisters, Ethel Weaver of Brookville, Berniece Davisson and Marjorie Albert, both of Lewisburg; four grandchildren, Kenneth Painter of Dayton, Beth Y. Besecker of Toledo, Erin M. Besecker and Michelle K. Besecker, both of West Alexandria.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 25, at Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel, with the Rev. J. Herman Bassler officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery near West Alexandria.

Raymond M. Durham
Raymond Milton Durham, 70, of 1106 S. 24th St., Richmond, Ind., died Saturday, April 22, at his home.
Born Aug. 24, 1929, in Rockcastle County, Ky., he was the son of Leander and May (Abney) Durham, and had resided in Richmond for 50 years. He was a tool and die maker at Belden, was a member of the Belden 25-Year Club and a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lelia (Ellison) Durham, whom he married Dec. 24, 1950; a son, Raymond Bruce Durham of Richmond, Ind.; a daughter, Pamela W. Lipps of West Manchester; five grandchildren; and his mother, Mayme Durham of Richmond, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Clarence Edward Durham and Caroll Wayne Durham; and a grandson, Bruce D. Durham.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Calvary Baptist Church, 119 SW "E" St., Richmond, Ind., with the Rev. Lester Maples officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.

Jacqueline F. Lamb
Jacqueline F. Lamb, 51, of Dayton, died Sunday, April 23, following a brief illness.
Born Oct. 3, 1948, in Dayton, she was the daughter of Jack L. and Mildred (Lucas) Welch.
She was preceded in death by her mother on July 7, 1998.
Survivors include sons, Todd E. Lamb and Lon E. Lamb, both of Dayton; companion, Robert Hall of Dayton; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Bonnie Welch of Dayton; sister and her companion, Terrie Welch and Tim Cochran of Dayton; aunt and uncle, Margaret and Willie Hudson of Dayton; four nieces, three nephews and three great-nephews, all of Dayton.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, 3377 U.S. 35 (between West Alexandria and Eaton), West Alexandria, with Pastor Michael Weldon officiating. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery, West Alexandria.
