Lelah M. Agler
Lelah M. Agler, 73, of Eaton, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997.
Born June 23, 1923, in Darke County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Carrie (Brown) Haller, and had lived in Preble County most of her life. She was an admitting clerk at Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Ind., from 1964 to 1976. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #665 of West Manchester and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Eaton.
Survivors include her husband, Lowell C. Agler; a son, Ted C. Agler of Nashville, Tenn.; daughters and son-in-law, Judy A. and Earl Smith of Eaton, and Barbara A. Agler of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Shaeffer of Tipp City, Betty Rohrer of Trotwood and Carolyn Dearth of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 12, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Burial was in Monroe Cemetery, Eldorado.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Emergency Squad, to the First Presbyterian Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Margaret J. Greiner
Margaret Jo (Thompson) Greiner, 69, of 385 Bernard Road, Apt. 156, New Vienna, Ohio, died Thursday morning, April 10, 1997, at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.
Born Feb. 13, 1928, in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Pheobe Marie (Oberlin) Thompson. She worked for many years as a bus driver and also as a cook for the Eaton City Schools. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Akron, Ala.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven Allen and Kathleen Greiner of Tennessee, John Nicholas and Maryann Greiner of Hillsboro; daughters and son-in-law, Karen Jo Greiner of Wilmington, Constance Sue and John T. White of California; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Harold Cooper of Wilmington, Anna Mary and Lee Sola of Illinois; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Thompson; and a sister, Della Shephard.
Graveside services were Monday, April 14, at Blanchester IOOF Cemetery, with Pastor Dan Ferrell officiating. There was no public calling. Fisher Funeral Home, Wilmington, was in charge of arrangements.

James P. Kendel Jr.
James Patrick Kendel Jr., 31, of Lewisburg, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, April 8, 1997, at his home.
Survivors include his father and wife, James Sr. and Judy Kendel of Dayton; mother and husband, Rebecca and Steve Pugh of Williamsburg, Ind.; maternal grandparents, Anne and Russell Montgomery of Brookville; sisters, Deborah Yurkowski of Brookville and Traci Murphy of Dayton; stepbrother, Steven Pugh of Williamsburg, Ind.; a niece; many aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Daniel and Effie Kendel.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 12, at Rogers Funeral Home, Trotwood, followed by burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alcohol Abuse Treatment Centers.

Thomas E. Roberts
Thomas E. Roberts, 52, formerly of Gratis, died Thursday, April 10, 1997, at Fayette County Hospital in Washington Court House.
Born Nov. 7, 1944, in Knoxville, Tenn., he was the son of Charles Eugene and Ruth (Renfro) Roberts.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Julie Roberts of Eaton; an aunt, Clara Foreman of Gratis; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an uncle, Harold Foreman, who was his guardian.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 15, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Gratis, followed by burial in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis.

Dallas G. Fultz
Dallas Gene Fultz, 46, of Dafler Road, West Alexandria, died Thursday, April 10, 1997, in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Born April 2, 1951, in Dayton, he was a graduate of Twin Valley South High School. He was employed by the Public Works Division of the City of Eaton, where he was named "Employee of the Year" in 1996.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Fultz, in 1993.
Survivors include his mother, Clarabelle (Hendrickson) Fultz of West Alexandria; a daughter, Lindsey Kay Fultz, a son, Darren Gene Fultz, and a stepdaughter, Angie Lynn Stoner, all of Brookville; aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the West Alexandria Emergency Squad.

Minnie Day
Minnie Day, 88, of 400 Ada Doty St., Gratis, died Thursday, April 10, 1997, at her home.
Born March 9, 1909, in Lee County, Ky., she was the daughter of Logan and Vina (Miller) Toler. She had been a homemaker most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, in 1985; a son, James Willard Day, in 1927; and a daughter, Mavis McCloud, in 1983.
Survivors include five daughters, Lillian Zimmerman of Germantown, Christina Cheatle of Dayton, Emma Short of Middletown, Wilma Wilson and Virginia Rigsby, both of Gratis; a brother, Harrison Toler of Gratis; two sisters, Lillian Perdue of Kettering and Gail Lawson of Middletown; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were Monday, April 14, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Gratis, with the Rev. Walter Miller officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis.

Ricky L. Stidham
Ricky L. Stidham, 37, of 6067 Ivy Lane, West Alexandria, died Thursday, April 10, 1997, as a result of an automobile accident.
Born Sept. 25, 1959, in Dayton, he was the son of Orville and Gwendolyn (Massengill) Stidham. He had attended Twin Valley South High School, and had served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a factory worker with A.D.M. Animal and Health Nutrition Co. in Lewisburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, in 1995.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 15, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, followed by burial in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.

David A. McCloud
David A. McCloud, 30, of Eaton, died Saturday, April 12, 1997, at his home.
Born July 9, 1966, in Richmond, Ind., he was the son of Clarence D. Jr. and Frances Maridene (Laird) McCloud. He was a 1984 graduate of Eaton High School, and had worked as a cabinet maker at Precision Wood Products near Camden for the past seven years. He was a member of the Eaton Country Club and attended the Eaton Church of the Brethren.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1992.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Cynthia L. "Cindy" (Warner) McCloud; one son, Eric Z. McCloud, at home; mother and stepfather, F. Maridene and Melvin E. James of Eldorado; father- and mother-in-law, Charles P. and Norma L. Warner of West Alexandria.
Also surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary L. and Kathy McCloud of Tennessee, Jim D. and Dianne McCloud of Eaton, Terry F. and Tammy McCloud of Greenville, Richard D. and Betsy McCloud of Eaton; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, at the Eaton Church of the Brethren, 1407 N. Barron St., Eaton, with the Rev. Craig Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Fannie L. Booker
Fannie L. Booker, 72, of Sun City Center, Fla., formerly of Dayton, died Thursday, April 10, 1997, at her home.
A native of Wilmore, Ky., she had been a Bay area resident for three years, moving there from Dayton. She was a member of the Wimauma Church of God and was a volunteer at Mary Martha House.
Survivors include her husband, Carlton Almand; a son, Barry Goforth of West Alexandria; a stepson, Charles Booker of Dayton; daughters, Millie L. Webber of Nancy, Ky., and Rose A. Rike of Lewisburg; brothers, Luther Corman of Lexington, Ky., and Shannon Corman of Stanford, Ky.; sisters, Elnora Mills of Wilmore, Ky., and Grace Smith of Somerset, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, April 14, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Ron Smith officiating. Burial was in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria.

Mary Jo Gunn
Mary Josephine (Hayslett) Gunn, 62, of Dayton died Friday, April 11, 1997, after a lengthy illness.
Born Dec. 8, 1934, in Eaton, she was the daughter of Ralph and Mary Hayslett. She was a registered nurse, having graduated from the Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed for 24 years at Bethany Lutheran Village, including eight years as director of nursing. She was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and shared a special fellowship with Father Isaac Ebeigbe of St. Charles Borromeo in Kettering.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Thomas W. Gunn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Jo and Jim Godfrey, Cathy Jo and Mike Hart; a son, Thomas J. Gunn; four grandchildren, Patrick and Christopher Godfrey, and Kristen and Sarah Hart; a brother, Mike Hayslett of Germantown; and two sisters, Emma Plockeman of Wild Rose, Wis., and Nancy Loy of Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Julia Simms; mother-in-law, Maggie Gunn; and brother-in-law, John Gunn.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 15, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, with Father Isaac Ebeigbe and the Rev. Larry Hoffsis officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made made to the American Cancer Society or to Lutheran Social Services.

Allene Wehrley
Allene Wehrley, 69, of Columbus, and formerly Preble County, died Saturday, April 12, 1997, in Columbus.
Born June 2, 1927, in Irvine, Ky., she was the daughter of Everett and Lofa (Watson) Brookshire. She was retired, and attended Valley View Methodist Church in Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Johnson, in 1994.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Jean and Gary Reames of Pickerington, Ohio, Linda Sue and Marshall Lowery of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; sons, Steven Darrell Johnson of London, Ohio, David William Johnson and Mark Allen Johnson, both of Columbus; brothers, Jim Brookshire of Dayton and Bill Brookshire of Eaton; a sister, Eleanor McManus of Oregon; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, 3377 U.S. 35 West, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday at the chapel.
