Mark Allen Back, 41, of Ocala, Fla., died Friday, Sept. 5, 1997, at his parents' home near LaPorte after a brief illness.
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Back of Rosemount, Minn.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Back of LaPorte; two sisters, Sharon Miller of Singapore and Diana (Robert) Craig of Union; two brothers, Steve (Dee) Back of Camden and Mike (Debbie) Back of Dayton; numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
There will be no services.

Rosetta H. Swaim
Rosetta H. Swaim, 82, of 637 Woodland Drive, Rockville, Ind., died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 8, 1997, at her home.
Born April 26, 1915, in Rockville, Ind., she was the daughter of Charles Clarence and Zula (Hixon) Harrison. She had served as deputy treasurer and later deputy auditor of Parke County for 10 years. She was the retired co-owner of Rockville Vault and Monument Company from 1952-1978.
Mrs. Swaim was a member of the Rockville First United Methodist Church, Estabrook Chapter DAR, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #177, Veteran of Foreign Wars Paul Taylor Post #1752, all in Rockville.
Her husband, whom she married on June 18, 1938, died Oct. 10, 1966. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Allen Harrison and Gerald Harrison.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Valena and Millard Clauss of Bremen, Ind., Paula and Bill Connerley of Eaton; three grandchildren, Leslie Davies, Lauren Davies and Jarrod Connerley; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 12, at Gooch Funeral Home, Rockville, Ind., with the Rev. Jack B. Steele officiating. Burial was in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville.

Ella M. Huffman
Ella May Huffman, 77, of Eaton, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 1997, at her home.
Born Oct. 14, 1919, in Miami County, Kan., she was the daughter of the late August and Marie K. (Knoche) Brocker, and had lived in Preble County since 1945. She had worked as a secretary at Westvaco Corp., retiring in 1985 after 28 years.
Mrs. Huffman was a member of the Eaton United Church of Christ, Eaton Senior Citizens and had worked with the Preble County Food Bank for 12 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane E. Sarver of Richmond, Ind.; a son, Neil M. Huffman of West Alexandria; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Lydia Suit of Merriam, Kan.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, August Brocker, Gilbert Brocker, Roy Frank Brocker and Conrad Brocker; and two sisters, Katherine Lesino and Emelie Trollope.
Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 15, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. James W. Whitley officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton United Church of Christ.
Bryan A. Tabor
Bryan A. Tabor, 16, of Jamesway Drive, Eaton, died Friday, Sept. 12, 1997, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born Jan. 6, 1981, in Dayton, and was a junior at Eaton High School. He was employed part-time at Trotwood Foodtown and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eaton.
Survivors include his parents, Allen and Janet (Noble) Tabor of Eaton; two sisters, Leanna and Maleah Tabor of Eaton; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Tabor of West Alexandria; maternal great-grandmother, Marie Riege of West Alexandria; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Garney and Virginia Noble; and great-grandfather, Paul Riege.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the First Baptist Church, Eaton, with the Rev. Fred Hill officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, was in charge of arrangements.
Ellen Hogg
Ellen Hogg, 18, Wayne Trace Road, Eaton, died Friday, Sept. 12, 1997, as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born April 22, 1979 in Hamilton, and was a senior at Eaton High School. She was in the high school choir, was a member of the Eaton Church of the Nazarene and a member/secretary of the Nazarene Youth International.
Survivors include her parents, Bill and Linda Hogg of Eaton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jason and Leilani Hogg of West Alexandria and Adam Hogg, at home; a niece and nephew, Hannah and Jason Hogg of West Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Mary Parker, and Steven and Eliza Hogg.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at R.C. Nein & Sons-Limber Funeral Home/Willard Moss Jr. Memorial Chapel, 249 N. Main St., Camden, with Pastor Horton and Pastor Jan Winnale. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
Mary G. Jordan
Mary G. Jordan, 81, of Jordan Road, West Alexandria, died Friday, Sept. 12, 1997, at Westview Acres Care Center in Eaton.
Born July 16, 1916, in Preble County, she was the daughter of Frank and Rosa (Geeting) House. She was a housewife most of her life and a member of Shiloh Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in December 1996.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Bill Ruebush of West Alexandria; a son, Steven Jordan of West Alexandria; three grandchildren, Kristina, Amber and Tammie Ruebush, all of West Alexandria; two brothers, Lloyd House of Alabama and Martin House of Greenville; two sisters, Esther Taylor of Eaton and Betty Clark of Washington.
Four brothers, Ralph, Carl, Paul and Roy House; and two sisters, Margaret and Dorothy House, are also deceased.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Kenneth Vetter officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Wilma R. Long
Wilma R. (Jarrett) Long, 76, of Lewisville, Texas, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 1997.
She was born March 22, 1921, in Webster, Ind., the daughter of William R. and Abbie (Wissler) Jarrett. She had lived in Lewisville, Texas, since 1984.
Survivors include her husband, Manford E. "Mike" Long, whom she married Dec. 21, 1940; one son, Roger K. Long of Centerville, Ohio; one daughter, Viki E. Wald of Lewisville, Texas; two granddaughters, Lisa Bass of Chicago, Ill. and Angie Spears of Greenwood, Ind., one grandson, Jesse M. Wald of Lewisville, Texas; five sisters, Rexeen A. Catron of Centerville, Ind., Loy Johnson of Eaton, Sylvia Conley of Hagerstown, Ind., Ila Lewis of Phoenix, Ariz., and Selma McGriff of Chino Valley, Ariz.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Olin Jarrett and Lester Jarrett.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in Crown Hill Cemetery, Centerville, Ind., with the Rev. Phillip Johnson officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Mills Funeral Home, Centerville, Ind.
Iris N. Jones
Iris N. Jones, 87, of Eaton, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 1997, at Garden Manor Extended Care in Middletown after an extended illness.
Born April 7, 1910, in Butler County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Pearl (Boomershine) Welsh, and had lived in Preble County most of her life.
She received a business degree from Miami Jacobs Business College, Dayton. Mrs. Jones was member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Eaton; Gleaners Chapter #182, Order of Eastern Star, West Alexandria; and Omicron Sigma Sorority, Eaton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph N. Jones, in November 1980; a brother, William Welch; and a sister, Mildred Schlechty.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Walter Betscher of Hamilton; a grandson, Joseph Betscher of Eaton; a brother, Cecil Welsh of Dayton; and a sister, Jane Anson of Eaton.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with Dr. Phillip D. Malone officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Catherine A. Gauntt
Catherine A. Gauntt, 88, of Eaton, formerly of 1131 Park Ave., Troy, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 1997, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Born April 14, 1909, in Camden, N.J., she was the daughter of George and Hellen (Atkinson) Robinson. She had been a resident of Heartland of Eaton for the past two years.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Baker of New Paris, Edith Grosz of Tipp City and Earline Sizemore of West Manchester; two sons, Earl Rube of Texas and Paul Rube of Philadelphia, Pa.; a sister, Teresa Sipalones of New Jersey; 22 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joe Armstrong, in 1996; five sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Barnes Funeral Home-New Paris Chapel, 109 W. Main St., with the Rev. Verl Light officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg. The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. on Thursday. at the funeral home.
Audrey M. Schiml
Audrey M. Schiml, 78, of West Alexandria, died Monday, Sept. 15, 1997, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Born July 2, 1919, in Bristol, Va., she was the daughter of Corbin and Iva Dell (Turner) Rust. She was a 1937 graduate of Eaton High School, and had been a sales clerk at McFall Furniture in Eaton for many years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Eaton, and the Buckeye Model A Ford Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn R. Beane, in 1978; a daughter, Nancy Lee Schmidt, in 1961; and a sister, Bonnie Christopher, in 1993.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph E. Schiml; a son, Michael J. Schmidt of Eaton; a daughter, Carol Wigger of Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Berdyne Michael of Camden; a brother, Garnett Rust of Camden; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., with Dr. Phillip D. Malone officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the funeral home.
