Clarence E. Aukerman
Clarence E. Aukerman, 82, of Lincoln Street, Eaton, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 1996, at Grandview Hospital in Dayton.
Born Aug. 25, 1914, in Eaton, he was the son of George and Bertha (Miller) Aukerman. He retired in 1985 after 44 years at General Motors. He was a member of the GM 25-Year Club, and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Eaton. Mr. Aukerman served as scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop #59 for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary E. (Guiler) Aukerman; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene T. and Carol Aukerman, Larry A. and Linda Aukerman, all of Eaton; two brothers, Ralph and Lloyd Aukerman, both of Eaton; one sister, Vashsti Kabler of Tucson, Ariz.; and five grandchildren, William Joseph, Jonathan Brian, Larry Andrew, Lisa Marie and Luke Bradley Aukerman.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 23, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Eaton, with Dr. Phillip D. Malone and the Rev. Kelly Brown officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Kathryn J. Coleman
Kathryn J. Coleman, 81, of Eaton, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 1996, at Grandview Hospital in Dayton after an extended illness.
Born Jan. 19, 1915, in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Ethel M. (Hinkle) Schul. She had lived in Preble County since 1942. Mrs. Coleman was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a former member of the Eaton Business and Professional Women's Club.
Her husband, Thomas Coleman, died Jan. 30, 1975.
Survivors include a sister, Luella Euler of Middletown; a niece, Eileen G. Boren of Bokeelia, Fla.; a nephew, William C. Baird of Middletown; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Rempe, Esther Schul and Elizabeth Schul; and a brother, Eugene Schul.
Memorial services were Saturday, Dec. 21, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Brian Dillahunt officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Myron 'Edith' Miller
Myron "Edith" Miller, 89, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 1996, at Woodland Manor in Somerville, where she resided. She was a former Camden area resident.
She was born in Port Union, Ohio, the daughter of John and Viola (Snider) Vosseler. She was a graduate of West Chester High School and attended Hamilton Business College. She was a member of Fairhaven United Methodist Church.
She married Alex Miller in Port Union on Aug. 24, 1933, and he preceded her in death in 1974.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and George Seals of Camden; four grandchildren, Dianne Skerl of Madison, Ohio, David Seals and William Seals, both of Camden, and Kathy Lake of Hamilton; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Hubert Batchelder of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Harry Miller, in 1959; and a sister, Irene Purdy.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 21, at Weigel Funeral Home, Hamilton, with Pastor Kenneth Barton officiating. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery, West Chester.

Karen S. Tamplin
Karen S. Tamplin, 42, of Front Street, Lewisburg, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 1996, of injuries received in an auto/truck accident on Nov. 18 in Preble County.
Born Nov. 6, 1954, in Dalton, Ga., she was the daughter of William and Geneva (Creech) Adams. She had lived in Preble County for the past 21 years and was employed with Hometown Health Care in Eaton. She was a member of the Full Gospel Temple of Eaton.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Robert E. Tamplin; a daughter, Deanna C. Tamplin of Lewisburg; two sons, Robert W. and Jason L. Tamplin, both of Greenville; two brothers, Gary Estes of Carlisle and Larry Adams of Tacoma, Wash.; three sisters, Beverly Davis of Eaton, Jackie McDaniel of Lewisburg and Tammie Sanders of Gordon; and one grandson, Robert Blake.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 23, at the Full Gospel Temple, Eaton, with the Rev. Raymond Rothwell officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg. Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Walter D. Ash
Walter D. Ash, 76, of Rose Boulevard, Camden, died Friday, Dec. 20, 1996, at Ft. Hamilton-Hughes Hospital in Hamilton.
Born Sept. 26, 1920, in Hamilton, he was the son of Willis E. and Julia (True) Ash. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Hamilton, and was a sales rep for Truck Stops of America. Mr. Ash was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion in Dayton and the FOE in Germantown.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Venius (Hayes) Ash; a son, Michael D. Ash of Camden; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Ash of Alvarado, Texas; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Art, Paul and Russ Ash; and a sister, Marge Terry.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 23, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating.
Paul E. Loser
Paul E. Loser, 78, of 1648 U.S. 127 North, Eaton, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 1996, at his home following a brief illness.
Born Feb. 9, 1918, in Eaton, he was the son of the late Harry and Daisy (Wysong) Loser. He was a retired custodian and bus driver for Eaton City Schools, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Loser was a member of the Eaton Church of the Brethren, a charter member of VFW Post 8066 of Eaton, and a member of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees.
Survivors include his wife, Shelia Ann (Yost) Loser; daughters and sons-in-law, Janie and Gary Washington, Wendy Cain, all of Eaton, Vicki and Richard Brown of Sedalia, Mo., Marlene and Pat Davis of Bowling Green, Ohio; a son, Michael Loser of Columbus; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold Loser of Wheeling, Ind., and Everett Loser of Matthews, Ind.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Loser; and a sister, Alice Yoder.
Memorial services were Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Greg A. Hyre officiating. Burial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Orville E. Anderson
Orville Edward "Andy" Anderson, 71, of Hamilton, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 1996, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
Born April 1, 1925, in Green Hall, Ky., he was the son of Jesse and Emily (Sexton) Anderson. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 through 1946. Mr. Anderson was formerly a plant manager for Magna-Tek in Blytheville, Ark., retiring in 1989, and was formerly employed at Parker Hannifin in Eaton. He was a member of the F&AM, Shriners and the Scottish Rite.
In 1957, he married Louisa Barton, who preceded him in death in 1988.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David Michael and Beth Anderson of Kissimmee, Fla., and Donald and Chris Stamper of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Curtis Perry of Hamilton, and JoAnn Woltz of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Jesse and Sally Anderson of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and Robert Powell, Lelia Elliott, Margaret and Edward Combs, all of West Alexandria; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Alex Anderson.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 23, at Brown Dawson Funeral Home, Hamilton, with the Rev. Fred Hill, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Eaton, officiating. Burial was in Millville Cemetery.

Hubert L. Lake Sr.
Hubert L. "Herb" Lake Sr., 62, of 404 Lexington Road, Eaton, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 12, 1996, at Hospice of Dayton after an extended illness.
Born Feb. 19, 1934, in Charleston, W. Va., he was the son of Lanta N. and Ethel (Dean) Lake. He served with the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1962, and retired in 1991 from Inland Manufacturing after 39 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Broadcasting and attended the Eaton Church of the Nazarene
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Mary L. Lake; three sons and daughters-in-law, William D. and Lena Patterson of Middletown, Charles E. and Laura Patterson of Greenfield, Ohio, Hubert L. Jr. and Rita Lake of Eaton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda L. and Michael Johns of Middletown, Susan M. and Danny Fields, Rita K. and Hubert Lake, all of Eaton.
Also surviving are two brothers, Everett Lake of Arab, Ala., and Dewey Lake of Napier, W. Va.; one sister, Jean Casto of McWhorter, W. Va.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Millard Dean, in 1979; and two brothers, Edward Lake and Larry "Junior" Lake.
Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 16, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Harold E. Horton officiating. Burial was in Preble Memory Gardens.

Quiller Baker
Quiller Baker, 67, of Camden, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1996, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Born June 25, 1929, in Foxtown, Ky., he was the son of Reese and Mary (Isaac) Baker. He was employed by Don S. Cisle Contractors as a master mechanic for 45 years, retiring in 1994.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Elinor (Spicer) Baker, whom he married Nov. 8, 1952, in Richmond, Ind.; son and daughter-in-law, Rod and Karen Baker of Camden; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Mike Campbell, Mary Jordan, all of Camden, Donna and Pat Phelan of New Lebanon, Paula and John Burkhead of West Elkton.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Mandi and Chad Baker, Mike, Cyndi and Sammi Campbell, Robert and Laura Jordan, April, Amy and Sean Phelan, Jordan and Justin Burkhead; four great-grandchildren; one brother, the Rev. Willard Baker of Hamilton; and two sisters, Byrtle King and Myrtle Allen, both of Hamilton.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 15, at R.C. Nein and Sons Funeral Home, Camden, followed by burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
Leslie Ramsey Sr.
Leslie Ramsey Sr., 72, of Eaton, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1996, at Hospice of Dayton.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of Union Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bethel Ramsey; a son and daughter-in-law, Leslie Jr. and Sharon Ramsey of Brookville; grandchildren, Brian and Robyn Ramsey of Springboro, Lesley and Craig Ray of West Manchester; great-grandchildren; his mother, Lula Ramsey of McKee, Ky.; brothers, Elwood Ramsey and Rudolph Ramsey, both of McKee, Ky.; and sister, Freda Mae Bowlen of McKee, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie; and sister, Joyce.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 15, at Gilbert-Fellers Funeral Home, Brookville, with Pastor Clifford A. Hurst officiating. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery, Brookville.
