John E. Milliken
John E. "Jack" Milliken, 75, of Stuart, Fla., died Friday, Nov. 21, 1997, at his home.
Born Sept. 26, 1922, in Lorain, Ohio, he was a graduate of Ohio University and of the University of Wisconsin School of Banking. He had been a division manager of sales for Frigidaire Corp. in Dayton, was a former cashier of the New Carlisle National Bank, and later became a partner in the Milliken-Williams Agency in New Carlisle. He retired in 1987.
Mr. Milliken served in the European Theater of Operations in World War II, where he received the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis (Scarff) Milliken, whom he married Sept. 1, 1945; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Dr. Daryl Woodard of Eaton; a son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Jo Ellen Milliken of Bryan; four grandsons, Dr. Brian Woodard and wife Teresa, Scott Woodard, Greg Milliken and Doug Milliken; and two great-granddaughters, Brittany and Rachel Woodard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Conrad Milliken and Robert Milliken.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the First United Methodist Church, New Carlisle, with the family receiving visitors one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the New Carlisle Cemetery.

George L. Profitt
George L. Profitt, 81, of West Alexandria, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 25, 1997, at Grandview Hospital in Dayton after a short illness.
Born July 20, 1916, in Vortex, Ky., he was the son of Wilgus B. and Amelia (Bryant) Profitt. He retired in 1977 from GM Delco Products in Dayton, and was U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald L. Profitt of West Alexandria and Jessie Bernard Profitt of Dayton; one brother, Robert Profitt of Winchester, Ky.; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Frances (Young) Profitt, in 1978; six brothers, Morgan, Tom, Bruce, Luther, Ira and Harm Profitt; and three sisters, Lyda Tuttle, America Johnson and Elizabeth Profitt.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, with the Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Burial was in Butler County Memorial Park, Hamilton.
Hazel A. Howard
Hazel Agnes (Bowman) Howard, 101, formerly of 5925 Camden-Sugar Valley Drive, Camden, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Survivors include a grandson and his wife, John and Lynn Dane of Centerville, Ohio; a granddaughter and her husband, Vivian and Jerry Cottle of Middletown; and other relatives.
Graveside services were Saturday, Nov. 29, at Fairmount Cemetery, Camden. R.C. Nein & Sons-Limber Funeral Home, Willard Moss Jr. Memorial Chapel, Camden, was in charge of arrangements.
Annabelle Eubank
Annabelle Eubank, 73, of Celina, formerly of West Alexandria, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997, at Kettering Memorial Hospital in Kettering.
Born Oct. 28, 1924, in Preble County, she was the daughter of Robert and Leona (Waltz) Coleman. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ingomar.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Clifford Eubank; a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Jack Roberts of Huber Heights; a daughter, Mary Lee Scott of Huber Heights; a sister, Roberta Travis of West Alexandria; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert Coleman.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Larry Kettlehake officiating. The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria.
Rosalie F. Rosfeld
Rosalie F. Rosfeld, 59, of South Central Avenue, West Alexandria, died Monday, Dec. 1, 1997, at Hospice of Dayton.
Born Oct. 20, 1938, in Batesville, Ind., she was the daughter of Percy and Ann (Sherwood) Robinson. She was a member of the New Lebanon Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Harold Rosfeld; three sons, Anthony H. Rosfeld of West Alexandria, Vincent A. Rosfeld and wife Julie of Medway, and Nathanael Rosfeld, at home; one daughter Erin Weimer and husband Mark of Eaton; six grandchildren; a brother, Fred Robinson of Brookville, Ind.; a sister, Jane Hollenbach of Brookville, Ind.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Kelvin Lott officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.

Winnifred D. Collins
Winnifred D. Collins, 83, of West Alexandria, died Monday, Dec. 1, 1997, at Hospice of Dayton after a short illness.
Born May 27, 1914, in New Paris, she was the daughter of Harvey and Alcie (Baumgardner) Conrad. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in West Alexandria, Chapter #310 OES in New Paris, Preble County Historical Society and the Delta Theta Tau Sorority in New Paris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Collins, in 1992.
Survivors include four daughters, Sally Fudge, Jane Lightner and husband Richard, all of West Alexandria, Sue Rose of Tampa, Fla., and Linda Collins of West Carrollton; eight grandchildren, Melinda Nickell of West Alexandria, Andy Fudge of Dayton, Mike Rose and wife Dea of Orlando, Fla., Matt Rose of Tampa, Fla., Scott Lightner and wife Martha of Bellbrook, Jeff Lightner of West Alexandria, Dan Collins of Tampa, Fla., and Jenny Collins of Dayton.
Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Jesse Nickell of West Alexandria and Travis Rose of Orlando, Fla.; a niece, Libby Sampsell of Dayton; and a sister, Martha Loch of Dayton.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with Pastor Ron Dafler officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.

Evan L. Croy
Evan L. Croy, 84, of 5201 College Corner Pike, Oxford, died early Tuesday morning, Dec. 2, 1997, at his home.
Born Sept. 28, 1913, in Advance, Mo., he was the son of Colonel Fred and Minnie I. (Taylor) Croy. He had lived in the Oxford area since 1949. Mr. Croy was employed by National Lead of Ohio for 18 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member and deacon of Talawanda Baptist Church in Oxford, a member of the Oxford Masonic Lodge and the Oxford Senior Citizens.
Survivors include five sons, Fred E. Croy of Camden, Donel R. Croy of Englewood, Kenneth L. Croy of North Augusta, S.C., Michael E. Croy of Hamilton and Terry D. Croy of Garland, Texas; three sisters, Jewell Reimler of Advance, Mo., Betty Cato of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Clara Walker of Oxford; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie M. Croy, who died May 24, 1993; a brother, Rex Croy; and a sister, Pauline Knight.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Showalter-Blackwell Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, Ohio, with the Rev. Thomas A. Fenton officiating. Burial will be in College Corner Cemetery, West College Corner, Ind. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at the funeral home.

Eveline J. Morris
Eveline J. Morris, 71, of Camden, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
Born April 19, 1926, in Brookville, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Bessie (Stoner) Fryman. She was a graduate Brookville High School. She was employed by General Motors, where she was the cafeteria manager until her retirement in 1981.
Survivors include her husband, Myron Morris, whom she married April 23, 1947; four sons, Richard (Betty) Morris of Xenia, Kenneth (Gail) Morris of Camden, Charles Morris of Middletown and Thomas (Pam) Morris of Carlisle; two sisters, Opal Howerton and Dorothy Walker, both of Brookville; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family at R.C. Nein & Sons-Limber Funeral Home/Willard Moss Jr. Memorial Chapel, Camden. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
Floyd Snowden
Floyd "Embry" Snowden, 90, formerly of Somerville, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Birdmont Health Care Center in Wytheville, Va.
Born Sept. 26, 1907, in Bybee, Ky., he was the son of Charles and Polly Anne (Hines) Snowden. He worked as a tool and die maker for Frigidaire, retiring in 1968. He was a member of IOOF #147 in Gratis.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Willie Mae Snowden; two sons, Gary (Betty) Snowden of Camden and Kenneth A. Snowden of Dayton; a daughter, Pat (Rick) Lehmkuhl of Rural Retreat, Va.; a brother, Robert A. Snowden of Haysville, N.C.; a sister, Alma Christopher of Fairborn; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Della, Fannie and Margaret; and six brothers, Shelby, Joe, Clayton, Jim, Charlie and John Snowden.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 6, at R.C. Nein & Sons-Limber Funeral Home/Willard Moss Jr. Memorial Chapel, Camden. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
Donald J. Tobias
Donald Joe Tobias, 47, of Englewood, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, following a sudden illness.
He had been employed for more than 21 years at Parker Hannifin Lewisburg's plant.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Ellen M. (Duffley) Tobias; two daughters, Stephanie and Melissa Tobias, both of Englewood; a brother, Ron (Debby) Tobias of Beavercreek; and his mother-in-law, Eleanore Duffley of Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred M. and Marie (Cole) Tobias.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 6, at Kindred Funeral Home, Englewood, followed by burial in Polk Grove Cemetery, Butler Township.

Paul F. Linnens
Paul F. Linnens, 82, of Eaton, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, in Richmond, Ind.
He was born Nov. 23, 1915, in New Castle, Ind. He retired from Perfect Circle in New Castle, Ind. Mr. Linnens was a life member of the VFW in New Castle and a member of the UAW.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah (Leullen) Linnens; and one daughter.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara R. Purdy of Eaton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren living out of state.
There were no services. Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, was in charge of arrangements.
