Blanche Somers
Blanche Somers, 84, formerly of Eaton, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at Hillcrest Estates in Liberty, Ind.
Born March 17, 1913, in Preble County, she was the daughter of William and Mary (Bolesman) Doty. She was a lifelong member of Sugar Valley United Methodist Church.
She was married on May 22, 1946, to Marvin Watt Somers, and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1988.
Survivors include one brother, Herbert Doty of Liberty, Ind.; one sister, Ruby Beyers of Kettering; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 24, at R.C. Nein & Sons-Limber Funeral Home/Willard Moss Jr. Memorial Chapel, Camden, with the Rev. Kenn Barton and the Rev. Jean Holmes officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.

June H. Helton
June H. Helton, 53, of 5002 S. Liberty Pike, Liberty, Ind., died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 21, 1998, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford after a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 8, 1955, in Laurel, Ind., she was the daughter of Clarence and Lenora (Pettit) Moore. She had lived Brookville, Ind., and Morning Sun before moving to Union County, Ind., in March 1997.
Mrs. Helton founded the Living Word Assembly in Bath, Ind. She was a member there and did extensive work for the church. She was a member of the Angel Tree Foundation, a prison ministry in the area.
Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Helton Sr., whom she married Sept. 29, 1962, in Camden; one daughter, Pamela D. Combs of Liberty, Ind.; one son, Robert E. Helton Jr. of West College Corner, Ind.; her mother, Lenora Moore of West College Corner, Ind.
Also surviving are one brother, Wilbur Moore of Fraziers Bottom, W. Va.; four sisters, Margaret Tomlin of Laurel, Ind., Phyllis Hardy of Cynthiana, Ky., Sylvia Weatherly of Eaton and Carol Norris of Lawton, Okla.; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; and one brother, Charles Moore.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 24, at Showalter-Blackwell Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, Ohio, with the Rev. Ruth York Hoskins officiating. Burial was in Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Living Word Assembly Youth Group at the funeral home.
Kathleen E. Getter
Kathleen E. (Smith) Getter, 73, of Union, Ohio, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at her home.
A native of Meigs County, Ohio, she was the daughter of Waid C. and Ola L. (Story) Smith. She was a longtime resident of Lewisburg and retired from Paul Manufacturing after 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. "Mike" Getter, in 1980.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry L. and Roberta Getter of Brookville, Michael C. "Mick" and Suggar Getter, Jack R. and Alberta Getter, all of Lewisburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Jill L. and Michael Penix of Miamisburg.
Also surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Ruth Smith, William and Jean Smith, James and Connie Smith, and Homer Smith; grandchildren, Jeris, Kirk, Robyn, Breeann, Chris, Becky, Nichole, Jeremy, and a special granddaughter and family, Dawn and Wes Lesher, with whom she made her final home; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 26, at Polk Grove United Church of Christ in Butler Township, with the Rev. Ron Hajarian officiating. Burial was in Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg. Kindred Funeral Home, Englewood, was in charge of arrangements.

Steven E. Katzenmaier
Steven E. Katzenmaier, 50, of 1933A Taylor St., Fort Wayne, Ind., died early Monday morning, Jan. 19, 1998, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne of a massive heart attack.
Survivors include his wife of three weeks and one day, Virginia "Ginger" (Filley) Pope, formerly of Eaton; a stepdaughter, Jody (Denny) Heindl of Eaton; a stepson, John Denny of Fort Wayne, Ind.; six step-grandchildren including Sherry Meyers of Eaton.
Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 22.
Lillian A. Hartman
Lillian A. Hartman, 67, of New Paris, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Born Jan. 7, 1931, in Alpena, Mich., she was the daughter of Lawrence and Anna (Peplinski) Koteras. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the church's Ladies Sodality, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, all in New Paris.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Paul R. Hartman; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul L. and Susanne Hartman of South Lyon, Mich., Gary L. and Cheryl Hartman of Plant City, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie A. and Robert L. Kincheloe of Marion, Ill.; grandchildren, Richard Kincheloe, Michelle, Kelli and Winter Jo Hartman; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was Monday, Jan. 26, at St. John's Catholic Church, New Paris, with the Rev. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Barnes Funeral Home-New Paris Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Clayton E. Booth
Clayton E. Booth, 79, of Lewisburg died Friday morning, Jan. 23, 1998, at his home after an extended illness.
Born March 13, 1918, in Washington County, Pa., he was the son of Maurice and Ellen (Deveroude) Booth. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving for over 23 years.
He moved to Preble County in April 1990, and served on the Lewisburg Board of Public Affairs from 1991 to 1996. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lewisburg, VFW Post in Lewisburg, a life member of the American Legion in Pennsylvania, and a member of the 29th Infantry Division Association.
Survivors include his wife, Margie (Jones) Booth; three sons, Ralph W. Booth of Denver, Colo., Donald E. Booth of Milford, Mass., and Jerry L. Booth of Harrisonville, R.I.; a daughter, Kathleen R. Thompson of New York; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, West Alexandria, with the Rev. Wesley Stiver officiating. Burial was in Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria.

Lucy E. Judy
Lucy E. Judy, 69, formerly of Brookville, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at VanCrest Health Care Center in Eaton after an extended illness.
Born Nov. 23, 1928, in Kingsport, Tenn., she was the daughter of John W. and Davie Jane (Tate) Hutchins. She retired as manager of the Dairy Mart of Trotwood, and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lewisburg.
Her husband, Herbert L. Judy, died in February 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Squires of Brookville and Irene Roxanne Armstrong of Arkansas; four grandchildren; two brothers, Samuel James Hutchins of Kingsport, Tenn., and Perry "Pete" Hutchins of Gray, Tenn.; and two sisters, Irene Collins and Margaret McGaha, both of Kingsport, Tenn.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Faith Baptist Church, 3878 U.S. 40, Lewisburg, with the Rev. Wesley Stiver officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery near Brookville. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Helen M. Maley
Helen M. Maley, 85, of 644 McGuffey Ave., Oxford, died Sunday evening, Jan. 25, 1998, at her home.
Born Feb. 11, 1912, in Trenton, Ohio, she was the daughter of William and Bertha (Buchanan) Brockman. She was a lifelong resident of the Union County area.
Mrs. Maley was a member of Bath United Methodist Church in Bath, Ind., a member of the Rainbow Sunday School Class and the Bath United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Brookville Order of Eastern Star, where she was a past matron and celebrated 50 years of membership in 1988. She was a charter member of the Country Garden Club in Franklin County, Ind., and a member of the Oxford Senior Citizens in Oxford.
She married Richard Maley on Sept. 6, 1930, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1986. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Maley, on July 5, 1959; and her parents.
Surviving are cousins.
Private graveside services will be conducted at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Malcolm Greene officiating. There will be no public calling. Showalter-Blackwell Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.

Carol J. Thielman
Carol Jean "Bobby" Thielman, 67, of Camden, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at her home.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, James Thielman; two sons and daughter-in-law, Timothy Thielman, Clay and Cyndee Thielman, all of Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Dean Whitehair of Texas; four grandchildren, Emily Bruce, Laura Thielman, Miranda Thielman and Travis Thielman; a great-granddaughter, Bailee Bruce; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and Roger Anton of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Thielman residence, 8035 Lantis Geeting Road, Camden. Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg, is in charge of arrangements.

Harley E. Kreitzer
Harley E. Kreitzer, 87, of Eaton, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Born March 30, 1910, in West Alexandria, he was the son of the late Edgar Sawyer and Grace (Smith) Kreitzer. He was a member of the Sugar Valley United Methodist Church and the Eaton Senior Citizens.
His wife, Hilda I. (Mann) Kreitzer, died June 28, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Jim Brandenburg of Eaton; three nieces; and a sister-in-law, Mabel Kreitzer.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Kreitzer and Hubert Kreitzer.
Graveside services were Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton, with the Rev. Kenn Barton officiating. Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, was in charge of arrangements.
