Regina C. Teach
Regina C. "Jean" Teach, 90, of 728 N. Wayne St., Piqua, died Sunday afternoon, June 21, 1998, at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, Calif.
Born Jan. 8, 1908, in Eaton, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Etta (Hines) Weadick. She was a 1927 graduate of Eaton High School and attended the Dayton Business College. Mrs. Teach was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She was a past member of the Piqua Players and the Piqua Catholic School Mothers Club.
She married Joseph C. Teach on July 17, 1934, in Eaton. He preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph C. Teach of Piqua and Ted N. Teach of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Earyle (Nancy) Woodard of LaJolla, Calif.; nine grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and a brother, Daniel Weadick of Eaton.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 26, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Piqua, with the Rev. Father Francis Keferl as the celebrant. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington. The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, Piqua, where a prayer service will be held at 5 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church, 528 Broadway, Piqua, Ohio 45356.

Vernon R. Root
The Rev. Vernon Richard Root, 65, of Big Cabin, Okla. died Wednesday, May 20, 1998 in Joplin, Mo.
Born Nov. 1, 1932 in Camden, he was the son of Homer and Alice (Hines) Root. He was a 1950 graduate of Camden High School and also a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, Okla. He was an auctioneer, a mechanic at Green Country Ford and had been the service manager for A&M Chevrolet and C.R. Moore Motor Co.
He was a pastor at Maybell Baptist Church and Narcissa Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Melvi (Clifford) Root of Big Cabin, Okla., whom he married on June 28, 1953; nine children, Donald Vernon Root Sr., Earnest Homer (Pete) Root, James Allen Root, all of Vinita, Okla., Kathy Sue Black of Oswego, Kan., Vernon Root Jr. of Welch, Okla., Crystal Lee Pleasant of Mannford, Okla., Melvie Jane Martin of Chelsea, Okla., Christopher Gerald Centers of Lakemont Shores, Okla., and Levi Kendall Root of Big Cabin, Okla.; three sisters, Mary Cupp, Alice Ballinger and Alberta Nelson, all of Camden; 24 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 20 foster children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ernest Root, one sister, Clara Stevenson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 23, at the First Baptist Church in Big Cabin. Burial was in Big Cabin Cemetery. Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita was in charge of arrangements.

Chester R. Gilbert
Chester R. (Chet) Gilbert, 78, of Beltsville, Md. died Monday, May 25, 1998.
Born Feb. 21, 1920 in West Alexandria, he was the son of Arthur and Ruth (Hamilton) Gilbert.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Flouton) Gilbert; sisters, Dorothy Schutt, Ann Kiamy, Doris Pierce, Joyce Nisius; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Emmanuel United Methodist, May 28. Burial was in Columbia Memorial Park, Columbia Md.

Mary K. Horine
Mary Kathryn Horine, 81, of Little League Drive, Eaton, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, June 3, 1998, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Born Jan. 28, 1917 in Preble County, she was the daughter of Perry and Mary (Thompson) Wright. She was a 1935 Camden High School graduate and worked at Hooks Drug Store in Richmond and retired in 1997 as a cook for the Preble County Sheriff's Department. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary; VFW Auxiliary; Rebecca Lodge of Eaton; served on the Preble County Senior Citizen's Board.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Dwight L. Horine; niece, Mary Louise Schmid of Richmond, Ind.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fredrick Wright and Clayton Wright.
Funeral services were Friday, June 5 at Barnes Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Emergency Squad.

Ruth E. Wright
Ruth E. Wright, 77, of Cincinnati, formerly of West Alexandria, died Thursday, June 4, 1998 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati.
Born August 27, 1920, she was the daughter of Franklin and Desi (Wright) Wright. She was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati School of Nursing and was a registered nurse for 50 years. She was on the chief nursing staff of the cardiac research program.
Survivors include a niece, Bonnie Salmans Albers of Cincinnati, and three nephews, Paul Wright of Eaton, David Wright of West Alexandria, and Robert Hamm of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Wright and Muriel Wright; and a sister, Mary E. Wright Salmans.
Graveside services were held Monday, June 8, at Fairview Cemetery in West Alexandria, with the Rev. J. Herman Bassler officiating. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Ballinger
Betty Ballinger, 59, of Camden, died Friday June 5, 1998.
Born Aug. 11, 1938 in Estle County, Ky., she was the daughter of Matthew and Buford (Tipton) Newton. On March 1, 1954, she married Dennis Ballinger in Liberty, Ind. She worked for Miami University for 16 years.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dennis Ballinger; a son, Terry (Erica) of Camden; and four brothers, Tom (Elizabeth) Newton, Ralph (Betty Jo) Newton, both of Cleves; Robert Newton of Brookville, Ind., Dale (Cheryl) Newton of Araiba, Ga.; one sister, Bonnie Young of Camden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Tracy and Belvery Newton; and one sister, Zula Francis.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 9, at the R.C. Nein & Sons-Limber Funeral Home, Camden with the Rev. Riley Parker officiating. Burial was in the Somerville Cemetery, Somerville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11117 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242, or Vitas Hospice, 1121 West Kemper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45240.

Jerry L. Koeller
Jerry L. Koeller, 60, Lewisburg, died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Kettering Memorial Hospital, Dayton.
Born June 25, 1937 in Lewisburg, he was the son of the late Herbert and Hannah (Etzler) Koeller. He was a 1956 graduate of the Lewisburg High School; he served in the U.S. Army; was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewisburg; he had been a drivers license examiner in Dayton; worked in the tool room at Skiles Body Shop and had been a carrier for the Dayton Daily News.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathi L. (Dunham) Koeller in 1984; two brothers, John E. Koeller in 1972 and James R. Koeller in 1982.
Survivors include three daughters, Teresa L. and husband Kenneth Hartman, Melissa L. Koeller and friend Ann Steele, all of Brookville, Nancy L. Koeller of Rock Hill, S.C.; brother, Jack W. Koeller of Lewisburg; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Koeller of Findlay; three grandchildren, David Fasick, Kenny and Jenni Hartman, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 9, at the Barnes Funeral Home, Lewisburg, with the Rev. James Lehman officiating. Burial was in the Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewisburg Emergency Unit.

Bernard L. Bollheimer
Bernard L. "Butch" Bollheimer, 78, of East Mechanic Street, Eaton, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Heartland of Eaton.
Born June 12, 1919 in Dayton, he was the son of William and Anna (Baker) Bollheimer. He retired in 1977 after 15 years with Select Tool and Die in Dayton; U.S. Air Force veteran; member of American Legion Post #215, Eaton; member and past president and vice president of South Shores Sportsman Club; member of Full Gospel Temple in Eaton; race car owner and parts maker for race cars.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Catherine E. "Kitty" (Taylor) Bollheimer; sons, Edward L. Bollheimer of Orlando, Fla., Ronald E. Bollheimer of Dayton; brothers and sister-in-law, Ralph Bollheimer of Brownsville, Texas, Bert and Nancy Heuerman of Orlando, Fla.; sisters and brother-in-law, Helene Beck of Fort Myers, Fla. and Gladys and Benny Benson, Chesapeake, Bay, Va.; grandsons, Brad A. and David Bollheimer, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 11 a.m. at Full Gospel Temple, 4745 U.S. 127 N., Eaton, with the Rev. Raymond Rothwell officiating. Burial will be in the Dayton National Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Barnes Funeral Home, Eaton, are in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Full Gospel Temple or Eaton Emergency Squad.

June B. Asher
June B Asher, 82, of West Alexandria, died Sunday, June 7, 1998.
Born June 15, 1915 in Hector, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Luther and Belva Bowling. She retired in 1973 from the Inland Products Division of General Motors following 18 years of service. She was a member of Farmersville First Baptist Church, and along with her husband James, owned and operated Asher Fishing Lakes for over 10 years.
She was preceded in death by husbands Earl Wagers Sr. in 1940, and James Asher on Oct. 15, 1985; brothers Dennis Bowling, Shafter Bowling and his wife Cecil, and Sullivan Bowling.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Earl and Natalie Wagers of New Lebanon; grandchildren Regina Wintermute of New Lebanon and James Wagers of Brookville, six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Curt and Bill bowling of Salem Ind., Charlie and Bessie Bowling, and Marvin and Ruby Bowling, all of Manchester, Ky.; sisters-in-law Nancy Bowling of Indiana and Lillie of Mt. Oreb.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, June at the Barnes Funeral Home-Preble /Memory Gardens Chapel, 3377 U.S. 35, West Alexandria, with Pastor James Whorton presiding. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday. Burial will be in Preble Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of New Lebanon.

Irma L. Crist
Irma L. Crist, 86, of 7625 Salem Road, Liberty, Ind., died Sunday evening, June 7, 1998, at Oxford View Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 14, 1911 in Preble County, she was the daughter of William and Edith Lyons Matix. She has lived in the Union County area all of her life.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Crist of, Liberty, Ind.; a daughter, Joan Bealty of Hamilton; a sister, Helen Miller of Eaton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde, Russell, Glenn and Omer Matix.
Funeral services at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Dana Hadden, pastor of Hannas Creek Christian Church in Union County officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Showalter-Blackwell Funeral, Baker-Fosdick Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County EMS Unit.

Ernest E. Moore
Ernest Eldon Moore, 91, of 117 High St., New Paris, died Monday morning, June 8, 1998 at his residence after an extended illness.
Born Oct. 14, 1906 in Randolph County, Ind., he was the son of Charles F. and Laura Ann (Bradford) Moore. He retired in 1971 from Avdo Corp. in Richmond, Ind. after 24 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara Jean (Tucker) Moore; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Ladonna Tucker, Allan and Mary Kay Moore all of New Paris, Lewis and Barbara Moore of Waukesha, Wis.; seven daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Cooper of New Paris, Darla and Steven Henderson of Centerville, Ind., Cheryl and William Hooks of Caryville, Tenn., Joyce and John Sheard of Eaton, Shelby and Tommy Vinsant of Jacksboro, Tenn., Rozan and Junior Tucker of Smyrna, Tenn., Janet Graham of Indianapolis, Ind.; sister, Lela Wonetta Ridge of Nobelsville, Ind.; brother, Bradford Moore of Owensville, Mo. 28 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ernest E. Moore Jr.; daughter, Marilyn Lou Moore in 1950; granddaughter, Connie Faye Tucker in 1953; brothers, Edward Moore and Chester Moore.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11 at 11 a.m. at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St., New Paris, with the Rev. Wayne Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Park Cemetery at Winchester, Ind. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10 from 6-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Emergency Squad or Northwest Fire Department.
