Wanda B. Smith
Wanda B. Smith, 72, of Pace, Fla., died Friday, Sept. 25, at West Florida Regional Medical Center in Pensacola, Fla.
Born July 9, 1926, in Dayton, she was the daughter of Edgar Jennings and Goldie Mae (Fadely) Oliver. She had lived in Florida since 1986, and had been active in the Santa Rosa Senior Citizen Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lindy Smith, in 1971; and two brothers, James Oliver, in 1946, and Charles Oliver, in 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Diana Smith Campbell of Pace, Fla.; sons, Stacy Smith of Xenia, Ted and Timothy Smith, both of Pace, Fla.; grandchildren, Stephen, Michael and Jack Campbell, Lyndon, Tina Marie Smith, Nalina Porter, Faith Ann and Joshua Smith.
Also surviving are sisters, Linda Shephard of Eaton and Sylvia Davis of Hendersonville, Tenn.; brothers, David Oliver and Jerry Brookshire, both of Eaton, Sherman, Paul and Larry Keith Oliver, all of West Alexandria.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., followed by burial in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Kenneth D. Trunck
Kenneth D. Trunck, 85, of Eaton, died Monday, Oct. 5, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton after a brief illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Eaton, he was born Jan. 14, 1913, the son of the late Clyde and Hazel (Weidmer) Trunck. Mr. Trunck was a retired farmer and former sexton at Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. He was a life member of the Fort St. Clair Gun Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn E. (Evans) Trunck, on Dec. 10, 1990; and a sister, Mary Jo Walker.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila J. Aukerman of Cincinnati and Barbara A. Groves of Eaton; three sons, Kenneth J. Trunck of Eaton, John R. Trunck of Eldorado and Thomas E. Trunck of Orlando, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Jane Callahan of Englewood; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 9, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Emergency Squad.

Marilyn J. Oakley
Marilyn June Oakley, 68, of New Paris, died Monday, Oct. 5, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind.
Born Aug. 19, 1930, in New Paris, she was the daughter of the late George Leslie and Stella E. (Braughton-Cook) Mann. She was a 1949 graduate of Jefferson Township High School, and retired in 1990 as manager of a shoe store in Georgia.
Survivors include her companion, Wilbur Oakley of Harlan, Ky.; sisters-in-law, Josephine Mann of Richmond, Ind., and Edna P. Mann of New Paris; two aunts, Nancy Pennington of Aberdeen, Ohio, and Clara Patterson of New Lebanon; four nephews; one niece; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Dean Mann, in 1985, and Willard Mann, in 1997.
Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 8, at Barnes Funeral Home-New Paris Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Guard officiating. Burial was in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Northwest Emergency Squad, New Paris.

Julie A. Clark
Julia A. (Dearing) Clark, 41, of 1110 N. "J" St., Richmond, Ind., died Wednesday, Oct. 7, of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
A native and lifelong resident of Richmond, she was born March 29, 1957. She was a 1975 graduate of Richmond High School and had received a social services degree from Indiana University East. Mrs. Clark had been employed by Dunn Mental Health as a case manager for the past 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents, David L. and Donna (Ross) Dearing of Eaton; one daughter, Amy A. Allen, at home; one sister, Vickie McWhinney of New Paris; one brother, Gary L. Dearing of Richmond, Ind.; aunts, uncles; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jeff Roagan of Richmond, Ind.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 10, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, Richmond, Ind., with the Rev. Phil Hodgkin officiating. Burial was in Earlham Cemetery, Richmond.

Evelyn Brown
Evelyn Brown, 72, of Camden, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Sycamore Medical Center in Miamisburg.
Born Nov. 5, 1925, in Camden, she was the daughter of Charles R. and Lola (Parrish) Cupp. She graduated from Camden High School and attended Ball State University. Mrs. Brown retired as bookkeeper for Natco after 15 years of service; and had been a supervisor for the Salvation Army for nine years. She was a past president of the Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Glenn and Janet (Miller) Brown of Germantown; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Anne and James Hartman of Camden; a brother, W. Roger Cupp of Fairborn; a sister, Ruth Ann Keller of Camden; three grandchildren, Mathew, Courtney and Cody Brown; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Butch" Brown, whom she married Sept. 9, 1964, in Florida; two brothers, Fred Cupp and Willard Moran; and a sister, Betty Jane Cupp.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 10, at R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden, with the Rev. James D. Whorton officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.

George N. Gambill
George N. "Jack" Gambill, 79, of Miami, Fla., died Monday, Oct. 5.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean (Pitsinger) Gambill, formerly of Camden; brother, Edward C. Gambill and wife of Plymouth, Minn.; daughter, Anita Evans of Greencove Springs, Fla.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; stepsons, Joe (Debbie) Lane of Hamilton, Frankie Mallace of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; stepdaughter, Susan (Phil) Balico of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; five step-grandsons; three step-granddaughters; one step-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were Monday, Oct. 12, at Southern Memorial Park, North Miami, Fla. Lithgow-Bennett-Philbrick Funeral Home, North Miami, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.

Daril Rose
Daril Rose, 51, of Eldorado, died Friday, Oct. 9, at Wayne Hospital in Greenville after a sudden illness.
He was born Dec. 4, 1946, in Richmond, Ind. He worked for Wysong Gravel Company in Camden. Mr. Rose was a member of the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed hunting, NASCAR racing and four-wheeling.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Mary (Thomas) Rose of Eldorado; his father, James Rose of Englewood; sons and daughter-in-law, Mark and Diane Rose of Dallas, Texas, Daril James Rose of Eldorado; daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Wade Smith of Urbana, Ind., Tammy and Kevin Anderson of Eldorado, and April Hubbard of Greenville; six granddaughters; sisters, Kathy Ruby of Morristown, Tenn., Pauline Cavender and Jean Rose, both of Englewood; a special aunt, Lucy Rose of Eaton; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula (Carr) Rose, in May; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Hubbard, in 1995.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 12, at Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, Eldorado, followed by burial in Monroe Cemetery near Eldorado.

John B. Longshore
John B. Longshore, 82, of Eaton, died Saturday, Oct. 10, at Brookhaven Nursing and Care Center in Brookville.
Born July 15, 1916, in Ironton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Samuel B. and Lorena (Willis) Longshore. He retired in 1975 from the Frigidaire Division of GM in Moraine following 30 years of service. He was a member of the Germantown First Church of God, and had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the early 1930s.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Harold Geeting of Eaton; grandchildren, Matthew Geeting and wife Meagan of Dayton, Amy (Geeting) Howard and husband Fred of Camden; great-granddaughters, Bree Ann Geeting and Alexis Kathryn Geeting.
Also surviving are brothers, Samuel B. Longshore Jr. of Flatwoods, Ky., Thomas Longshore of Indianapolis, Ind., and Harold Longshore of Surf City, N.C.; sister, Betty Brownlee of Huber Heights; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathryn (Stewart) Longshore, whom he married Nov. 25, 1935, on Sept. 25, 1997; brothers, James Longshore, Robert Longshore and Homer Lyn Longshore; and sisters, Donna Lee Potter and Verna Burgess.
Friends may call on the family from 3-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Barnes Funeral Home-Preble Memory Gardens Chapel, 3377 U.S. 35, West Alexandria, following which a graveside funeral service will be held at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Woodward presiding.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Germantown First Church of God.

Marie Reece
Marie Reece, 66, of Hamilton, died Thursday, Oct. 8, at Oxford View Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 3, 1931, in Hamilton, and attended the Camden schools. She was a member of West Elkton United Methodist Church for over 30 years; and a member of the TOPS organization for over 30 years, where she won the title of Ohio State Queen in 1975.
Survivors include her mother, Hazel (Belcher) Lewis of Oxford; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanna Lee and Nelson Hisle of Liberty, Ind.; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald Russell and Sheila Mayberry of Hamilton; a sister, Erma Ruth Schnapp of Hamilton.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Sheila Marie Lott of Marion, Ind., Saunya Harris of Richmond, Ind., Melody and Amy Reece of Eaton, Kimberly Mayberry of North Carolina, Diana Wenneck of Harrison, Ind., Tina and Kristin Cato of Hamilton, Darin Hisle and Nelson Hisle Jr. of Liberty, Ind.; great-grandsons, Tre'Vaughn Lott and Tyrell Hisle.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Edward Lewis; two sons, William Ronald Mayberry and Kevin Lawrence Reece; three brothers, Ira, Roscoe and Sherman Lewis; and a grandson, Rusty Mayberry.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Hamilton, followed by burial in Collinsville Cemetery.

Alice J. Lucas
Alice J. Lucas, 66, of Camden, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 14, at her home.
Born June 11, 1932, in Camden, she was the daughter of Clarence and Helene (Strickler) Bailey. She was a graduate of Miami University, and had been a teacher in the Preble Shawnee School District for 38 years. She was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority, the Camden United Methodist Church, the Modern Homemakers Club of Gratis and the OEA.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Jim Lucas; two daughters and son-in-law, Cindy and Denny Bates of Camden and Sharon Lucas of Dayton; a son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Ruth Lucas of Camden; five grandchildren, Amy Smith, Jamie, Katy and Jody Bates, and Josh Lucas; and a great-grandchild, Kole Smith.
Memorial services were Saturday, Oct. 17, at Camden United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jackie Marshall officiating. A private family burial followed. R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alice J. Lucas Reading Scholarship Fund at the First National Bank of Southwestern Ohio, 4 S. Main St., Camden, Ohio 45311.

Martha G. Miller
Martha G. Miller, 84, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton.
Born June 4, 1914, in Dayton, she was the daughter of George and Alma (Guntle) Gilbert. She was a graduate of Dixie High School, and had worked as a cook for West Alexandria School from 1958 to 1964. She was a member of the Moraine Heights Baptist Church and a former member of the First Brethren Church in West Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Chester Miller, in 1972.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Lorretta Clemmer of West Carrollton, Nancy and Jack Turner, Mary and K.D. Buckmaster, all of Eaton, Chesta and Ron Geisbert of South Charleston, Ohio; sons and daughters-in-law, George and Marlane Miller of Douglasville, Ga., Karroll and Judy Miller of Cincinnati; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Gilbert and Dan Gilbert, both of West Alexandria; and a sister, Elizabeth Bowser of West Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Sherm Gilbert; and a sister, Mary Stevens.
Funeral services were Sunday, Oct. 18, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with Pastor Travis Hudson officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria.
