Opal S. Allman
Opal S. Allman, age 80, of Frankfort, died on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at 8:06 a.m. Opal suffered from Alzheimers since 1995.
She was born on Aug. 15, 1921, in Ross County, the daughter of the late Clarence V. and Mary M. Richter Shields. On Jan. 21, 1943, she married Gerald C. Allman, who preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 2000.
Surviving are grandchildren, Jodi Lynn (Bowdle) Allen and Stephen Gilbert Allen, of Chillicothe, TSgt. James Jeffrey Bowdle and SSgt. Nicole Marie (Aragon) Bowdle, of Medical Lake, Washington, Jay Phillip Bowdle and Tricia Louise (Hughes) Bowdle, of Frankfort.
"Nannie" loved her eleven great-grandchildren very much, they will miss her always: Jason Lee Dement, Justin David Dement, Kevin Douglas Allen, John Patrick Allen, Stephanie Kathryn Allen, Brittney Anne Bowdle, Gerri Lynne Bowdle, Krista Marie Henderson, Brandon Jay Hughes, Jacob Phillip Bowdle and Jerrod Allman Bowdle.
She is also survived by her sisters, Lourene Shields, Ruth Keaton and Mary Ellen Shields; and a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Garnet Shields, all of Frankfort.
Opal's kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. She had many, many friends in her life that she always considered part of her family.
At Opal's request, a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. No calling hours will be observed. The Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort, is serving the family.
Roxie M. Fayard
Roxie M. Diehl Fayard, 86, of Chillicothe, died 3:30 a.m. August 5, 2002, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 16, 1915, in Lockbourne, Ohio, to Jacob and Myrtle Duffy Diehl. On May 27, 1933, she married her husband of 69 years, George F. Fayard, who survives. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include three daughters, Louise (Jack) Eberle, of Dallas, Texas, Alice Fegelman, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pam (Mac) Peters, of Chillicothe, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Teresa (Cal) Smith, Patricia (Lewis) Meo, Marybeth (Scott) Yerigan, Jon (Anna) Eberle, Elliott (Suzanne) Fegelman, David Fegelman, Todd (Karen) Fegelman, Krista Peters and Ethan Peters; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joanne Jones, of Chillicothe and Marie Kindingler, of Florida. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Georgia; four brothers, Eugene, Clyde, Clark and John; three sisters, Rosemary, Freda and Leafy; and a son-in-law, Dr. Ronald Fegelman.
Mrs. Fayard was a 50 year member of the First Presbyterian Church, a volunteer with the Adena Health System, a member of the Belles and Beaus Square Dance Group and the Ross County Senior Citizen Center Euchre Club.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, at the Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at Haller's, with Rev. David Titler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Graceland Cemetery, New Castle, Pa. No Calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge.
