Walter M. Brown
Walter M. Brown, 81, of Chillicothe, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, unexpectedly at his residence.
He was born April 21, 1921, in Chillicothe, to the late Silas and Kathryn Norris Brown.
Mr. Brown, one of 10 children, is survived by sisters Mae E. Duhl, of Chillicothe, and Dorothy Schofield, of Columbus; nieces Sheila Hall, Patricia Finley and Beverly (David) Steinbrook; nephews Jerry (Sharon), Norris (Marilyn), Bob (Charlene) and Carl Jr. (Ruth) Brown, Bill (Linda) and Leroy (Patty) Schofield and many grand-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers Carl, David, Jim Brown, Chuck and Leroy Robinson; sisters Grace Johnson and Ruby Moss.
Walter was a U.S. Army World War II veteran serving one year and eight months in the Asian Pacific Theater. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 108 and a thirty-year employee of Chilpaco, retiring in 1974.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 28, 2002, in the Ware Funeral Home, with Rev. William G. Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad.
Friends may call at Wares from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
