Nancy W. Ross, 86, of State Route 771, Leesburg, Ohio, died 10:53 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002 at University Hospital, Columbus.
Miriam "Jo" Lantrip
Miriam "Jo" Kempton Lantrip, of Londonderry, lost a courageous fight with cancer on October 17, 2002, at the Kingston Health Care Center. "Jo" was born April 7, 1959, in Franklin County to Mary Meeker Elliott and Robert T. Kempton. She was 43 years old.
Carl M. Rutter
Carl M. Rutter, 59, of Chillicothe, died 6:50 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2002, in the Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.
Edgar W. Collins
Edgar Wendell Collins, 82, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Sunday evening, Oct. 20, 2002, in the OSU Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Chillicothe, the son of Versie L. and Cora L. Peoples Collins. On Oct. 12, 1946, he married Georgia Overly, who preceded him in death Sept. 18, 2000.
Surviving are a sister, Carol F. Youn, Danville, Pa.; and a host of nieces and nephews. His parents; a sister, Mary Mitchell; and brothers, Levi, Charles and Robert Collins preceded him in death.
Mr. Collins was a retired employee of Mead Paper with 44 years of service. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in World War II in the Pacific Theatre, he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Scioto Lodge No. 6, F&AM, Chillicothe York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Shrine Temple, Columbus and American Legion Post 757.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy O'Donnell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mayme G. Hall
Mayme G. Hall, 94, of Greenfield, died Sunday at Greenfield Area Medical Center.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home, Greenfield. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Harold "Bud" Jordan was predeceased by sisters, Millie Ferdon and Geraldine Jordan.
Frances E. Cooper White
Frances E. Cooper White, 92, of Nipgen, made her journey to be with Jesus in a better world at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002.
Margaret "Susie" Birkhimer
Margaret Susan "Susie" Birkhimer, age 46 a former Waverly resident, died Thursday Morning at the Pike Community Hospital.
She is the daughter of Muriel Jacquelyn McCoy Hall of Waverly, and the late Everett Thomas Hall, Sr.
Surviving are her daughters: Jacquelyn Sue (Robert) Weisinger of Campbellsville, Wisconsin, Emily (Craig) Goode of Piketon, and Abigail (Aaron) Walls of Peebles. Also surviving are her fiancé' Robert Borland of Chillicothe, his children: Sam Borland, Nora Borland, and Sarah Borland all of Chillicothe, and 4 grandchildren: Allen and April Weisinger, and Kaylee and Mason Goode. Along with her father she was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Thomas Hall, Sr.
She was a member of the Waverly First Baptist Church. A Memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 3, 2002 at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly, with Rev. William Moore officiating. Calling hours will not be observed.

Lois Ann Haynes
Lois Ann Haynes, 73, of Chillicothe died 12:53 a.m. Monday October 28, 2002, in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
She was born April 1, 1929, in Chillicothe, to the late Dorsey and Claudine Irvin Francis. On April 14, 1951, she married John A. Haynes who died September 25, 1999.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Jan Lee and Scott Decatur of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law Byron and Judith Francis of Chillicothe; sister June Rhea of Chillicothe; sister-in-law Frances Francis of Waverly and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers Melvin and Lloyd Francis.
Lois retired in 1993 as Executive Secretary at the Mead Corporation where she had worked for 40 years.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2002, in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Adena Hospice Services, 111 West Water Street, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ware Funeral Home.
Thomas P. Hurley
Thomas P. Hurley, 61, of Mingo Road Chillicothe, died 11:08 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2002, at his residence.
He was born November 17, 1940, in Ross County, the son of Willard and Helen Shoemaker Hurley. On November 19, 1960, he married Barbara Kaltenbach who survives.
Also surviving are four children: Stacey (Tracey) Depugh, of Frankfort, Thomas Patrick Hurley and Matthew Hurley, both of Chillicothe, and Nicole (Brian) Badgley of Bainbridge; three grandchildren Aaron and Jordan Hains and Levi Badgley; and one sister, Norma Stackhouse, of Chillicothe, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by his parents and two brothers.
He was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2002, in the Twin Township Cemetery with Rev. Willard Kellough officiating. In lieu of flowers family request memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Smith-Moore Funeral Home, Bainbridge.

Fred A. Matchinski, 71, of the Shoreland community in Toledo, Ohio died Saturday, October 26, 2002, in Lake Park Care Center, in Sylvania, Ohio.
C. Edgar McClure
C. Edgar McClure, 86, of Circleville, died October 25, 2002, at his residence.
He was born December 1, 1915, in Coalton, the son of the late Charles C. and Wanda A. (Pittenger) McClure. He was retired from GTE after 29 years, a member of the Community United Methodist Church, Columbus Wood Chippers, National Wood Carvers Association, Pickaway County Historical Society and Pickaway County Senior Citizens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Dumm) McClure; daughters, Betty (Dale) Gifford and Mary (Darryl) Carter, both of Circleville; son, Robert (Joy) McClure, of Grove City; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held yesterday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial followed in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. Family requests memorial contributions to Community U.M. Church or Hospice of Pickaway County.
