Anna Belle E. "Bubbles" Woods
Anna Belle E. "Bubbles" Woods, 71, of Berwyn, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 20, 2002, in the LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange, Illinois, following an extended illness.
She was born April 4, 1931, in Chillicothe, to the late Floyd and Bessie Hertenstein Cox and was the beloved wife of Alva Woods, Jr., who died May 10, 2002.
Anna Belle was the loving mother of daughter, Amy (Douglas) Botts; dearest grandmother of Douglas Botts III, all of Berwyn, Illinois; fond sister of Pearl (Albert) Harrington, Evelyn (James) Stewart, Marjorie (Russell) Seymour, William (Carrie) Cox, Glenn (Minnie) Cox, all of Chillicothe, and dearest aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter, Judith Ann Moffitt; brothers, Gene, Roger and James Cox and three infant brothers.
Mrs. Woods was a crossing guard for the village of Cicero and a lunchroom mom for Cicero School.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2002, in the Foran Funeral Home, Summit, Illinois, and 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2002, in the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ in Christian Union, with the Rev. Mark Clendaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ware Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Clifford H. Beatty
Clifford H. Beatty, 68, of Greenfield, died Saturday at the Greenfield Area Medical Center.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov., 26, at the Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Albert Cox officiating. Burial is in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Mary Alice Dailey
Mary Alice Dailey, 82 of Chillicothe, died 8:18 PM, Saturday, November 23, 2002 in the Westmoreland Place Nursing Home following an extended illness.
She was born July 31, 1920 in Greenfield, OH the daughter of the late John and Hazel Templeton. On January 30, 1938 she married Albert D. Dailey, who preceded her in death, November 27, 1971.
Surviving are daughters Mrs. Raymond (Jettie) Stark, Kettering; Mary Lou Grice, Myrtle Beach, NC; Jean Pinkerton, Chillicothe; Mrs. Gary (Pam) Smith, Chillicothe; and Tina Masterman, Chillicothe; two sons Robert Dailey of Chillicothe; and Steven (Carol) Dailey, Wilmington, DE; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; one brother; a very dear friend Pat Rooney; and a very dear companion, the Late Kenneth Stephen Madru.
3 daughters, Beverly, Marlene and Diane;1 sister and one brother preceded her in death.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Lawrence Hummer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home.

Bennie Fairchild, 97, formerly of 160 Beaver Pike, Waverly, OH died 6:55 a.m. Sunday, November 24, 2002 at Pike Community Hospital, Waverly, OH.
Rita Jean Grubb
Rita Jean Grubb, 76, of Chillicothe, left this world 7:10 a.m. Sunday, Nov., 24, 2002 in Westmoreland Place Nursing Home following an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 27, 1926 in Ross County to George and Lela Thornton Mettler. On Jan. 30, 1946, she married Eugene Grubb, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Marshia Grubb, of Chillicothe, Marcetta (Randy) Potter, of Idaho, Ohio, and Angela Grubb, of Chillicothe; a son, Garrett (Teresa) Grubb, of Grove City; six grandchildren Wade and (Techia) Potter, Jess Potter, Dannie (Jamie) Grubb, Geoffrey Grubb, Gregg (Andrea) Grubb, and Maria Grubb; seven great-grandchildren, a sister Marilyn (Walter) Spindler; two brothers, Jim (Hazel) Mettler and George Mettler, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by a son and two brothers. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
Mrs. Grubb had retired as a nursing assistant and transporter after 12 years with the Chillicothe Hospital and 16 years with the Adena Regional Health System. She was known as Grubby to all her friends and co-workers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Salem United Methodist Church, Meade, Ohio, with Pastor John Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem United Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water, or the American Cancer Society, 138 Marietta Road, Suite D, Chillicothe.
Darlene Leach
Darlene Leach, 45 of Chillicothe, went home to be with her Lord, 5:50 PM, Friday, November 22, 2002 in the Pleasant Hill Manor, Piketon, following an extended illness.
She was born September 15, 1957, in Ross County, the daughter of the late Fred and Annie Downing Darling.
Surviving are sons Doug Darling, Chad Leach, and Brian Leach, all of Chillicothe, Former husband and father to Chad and Brian, Terry Leach; and one sister, Nancy Butcher, Chillicothe. One sister, Beverly, and four brothers Charles, Gary, Larry and Glenn, preceded her in death.
Before her illness, Darlene had attended Open Door Church. A special thanks to Pleasant Hill Manor for there outstanding care for Darlene.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday November 26, 2002 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Mike Butcher officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home.
Elizabeth Allman
Elizabeth Allman, 87, formerly of Frankfort, died Nov. 27, 2002, at Westmoreland.
She was born Sept. 10, 1915, in Lawrence, Ky., the daughter of Oscar and Virgie Cooksey Pennington. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, husbands, Glen Adams, in 1971 and Phil Allman in 1989, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
She survived by daughters, Helen George, Waverly, Doris (Maurice) Dickson, Columbus, Betty (Bill) Graham, Chillicothe, Elizabeth (Robert) Fetherolf, Circleville, and Judy (Jon) Smith, Frankfort; son, G. Edward (Penny) Adams, Frankfort; brother, Walter Pennington, Greenfield, Myrtle (Howard) Beavers, Kingston, and Bertha Mae (Glen) Belvins, Louisa, Ky., sister-in-law, Annie Pennington, 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, special friends, Faye and Allen Rigsby, and several nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church of Lattaville.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Rev Graham officiating. Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston, Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Chester Wayne Meadows, 73, of Ray, died Tuesday at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson.

Lola Powell
Lola Harmon Powell, 90, formerly of Chillicothe, passed from this life Monday, November 25, 2002, in Lexington, SC, where she had resided since 1995.
She was born November 1, 1912, in Hamlin, WV, the daughter of William J. and Ada Barrett Harmon. On September 11, 1930, she married Cecil Powell, who preceded her in death June 14, 1975.
Surviving are daughters, Delores and husband, E.C. Baker, Indianapolis, IN, Pearl and husband, Ronnie Roister, Londonderry, Mary Peters, Lexington, SC, and Gloria Jean and husband, Jeff Osborne, Londonderry; sons, Ralph and wife, Betty Powell and Leslie and wife, Elizabeth Powell, all of Lexington, SC, Cecil and wife, Phoeba Powell, Bainbridge, Bernard and wife, Patricia Powell, Washington C.H., Clyde and wife, Priscilla Powell, Jackson, and Roger and wife, Alice Powell, Chillicothe, an adopted son, Michael David and wife, Cathy Powell, Chillicothe; 45 grandchildren; 104 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren. Her parents, an adopted son, Steve Allen Powell; grandsons, Billy Joe Peters, Jeremy Powell and Jonathan Peters; a granddaughter, Milly Jo Peters; and a great-granddaughter, Beth Ann Roister, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Powell was a member of the Edmond first Baptist Church, Lexington, SC, and the Secret Sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Richmond Dale Church of God with Rev. Donald Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday.

Retired Staff Sgt. John I. Twaddle, 79, of Lawton, Okla., died Wednesday at a hospital in Lawton.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Post Cemetery in Fort Sill, Okla., under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.
