Harold E. Vollmer
Harold E. Vollmer, 92, of Chillicothe died 6:52 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2002 following an extended illness.
He was born September 4, 1910, in Ross Co. to the late Joseph and Emma McClain Vollmer. On February 27, 1943, he married the former Anna B. Carr who died October 12, 1997.
Surviving are special friends Sandy and Eric Kellough and family. He was predeceased by sisters, Josephine Saunders, Marjorie Wallace, Beatrice Wilhelm and Helen Trego; brother, Charles A. Vollmer; an infant brother, Joseph and an infant sister, Virginia.
Mr. Vollmer was a U.S. Army Air Corps W.W. II veteran, a member of American Legion Post 62, B.P.O.E. No. 52 and the Walnut Street United Methodist Church. He was a retired Engineer for the Ohio Department of Transportation, retiring in 1967 where he had worked for thirty six years.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2002 in the Ware Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis Mohler officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery, Washington CH. Friend may call at Ware's one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Walnut Street United Methodist Church.

Carol J. Carey, 59, of Chillicothe, died at her residence unexpectedly.

Charles Edward Christman, 81, of Waverly, died Wednesday.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Waverly, with military graveside rites held by American Legion Merritt Post 142, Waverly.
Friends may call at Boyer Funeral Home 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.

Ora "Chuck" Houghland, 69, of Camp Creek Rd., Lucasville, died Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Manor, Piketon.

Leona Mildred Justice-Owens
Leona Mildred Justice-Owens, 89, of Linden Avenue, Waverly, died 9:21 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2002, at Highland County Joint Township District Hospital, Hillsboro.
She was born on July 25, 1913, in Waverly, to the late Charles Frederick and Viola (Edwards) Oyer. On January 1, 1930, she was united in marriage to Andrew Thurman Justice, who preceded her in death on February 13, 1977.
Surviving are 2 sons, Andrew Leon (Nancy) Justice, of Newark, and William C. (Adalene) Justice, of Waverly; six grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Leona was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Voelker and Florence Brown and three brothers, Donald, Glen and Harlan Oyer.
Leona was a former clerk at Stiffler's Department Store and a former secretary for the City of Waverly. She also formerly attended David Road Church of Christ and Waverly Bible Christian.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2002, at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, with Rev. Gary Pack officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Union Cemetery, Waverly.
Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home from 6 to 8 on Saturday, and from noon until the time of service on Sunday.

Leona M. Purdom, 83, of Washington Court House, died Wednesday, at her residence.
The funeral will be Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, in Washington Court House. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Robert Lee Whitt Jr.
Robert Lee Whitt Jr., 34, of 4800 Duvall Road, Ashville, OH, died Monday, December 2, 2002, at Mount Carmel Medical Center, Columbus, OH.
He was born October 23, 1968, in Marysville, OH, the son of the late Robert Lee Whitt and Edna Ruth (Stevens) Whitt, of Piketon. He survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Bucy) Whitt, whom he married on March 17, 1999.
Also surviving one son, Rodney William Campbell, of Ashville; four daughters, Samantha Yvette Bucy, Suzette Yolanda June Campbell, Sunset Lee Whitt, Becky Elizabeth Whitt, all of Ashville, OH; one grandson, Robert Allen Michael Bucy; five brothers, James (Mildred) Whitt and Sheridan Lee (Judy) Whitt, both of Chillicothe, and David (Pamela) Farmer, Robert Eugene Whitt and Mike Strong, all of Waverly; three sisters, Murial (Charles) Maynard, of Beaver; Victoria Whitt, of Waverly, and Penny Whitt, of Columbus.
Mr. Whitt was a self-employed roofing contractor.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday December 6, 2002, at the Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, with Rev. John Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Hay Hollow Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour on Friday.

Lillie F. Tapp
Lillie F. Tapp, 87, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Sunday afternoon, December 8, 2002, in Heartland of Chillicothe, following an extended illness. She was born May 3, 1915, in Harrison County, KY, the daughter of Forrest S. and Ella A. Turner Ransdell. In 1936, she married Adrian W. Tapp, who preceded her in death on September 11, 1992.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John W, Tapp and Carolyn Cairns, Seattle, WA; a grandson, Jesse Cairns Tapp; a sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Dr. Moneim El-Zawahry, Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews, including Hilda Johnson, Chillicothe, Lisa Randsell, Denver, CO, and William Ickinger, Athens, OH. Her parents, two sisters, and five brothers, preceded her death.
Mrs. Tapp was an employee of Adena Regional Medical Center, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home, with rev. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.

Edith W. Peck, age 90, of Chillicothe, died December 8, 2002, at Westmoreland Place, Chillicothe.
