Leslie A. Saxour, 40, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly Tuesday, at his home.
Kirby L. Brown
Kirby L. Brown, 47, of Chillicothe, died 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2002, in the Ohio State University Hospitals, Columbus, following an extended illness.
He was born December 26, 1954, in Ross Co. to the late Roscoe, Sr. and Vivian McGraw Brown. On March 2, 2000, he married the former Becky S. Kemper, who survives. Also surviving are step daughters, Lisa Diehl, of Chillicothe, and Melissa Diehl, at home; step son, Dylan Diehl, at home; granddaughter, Destiny Hayes; brothers, Roscoe Brown, Jr., of Oden, Ind., Robert (Karen) Brown of Washington, Ind., George Brown and Keith (Bonnie) Brown, all of Chillicothe; sisters, Roberta (Rex) Trantham, of Billings, Mo., Nancy (Wayne) Wingo, of Frankfort, Ohio, Judith A. Stewart and Jane Hayes, both of Chillicothe. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary L. Trowbridge.
Kirby was a Printer for Vertis Printing in Columbus.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2002, in the Ware Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 Friday.
Harl J. "Jimmy" Garten
Harl J. "Jimmy" Garten, 30, of Chillicothe, died 11:14 a.m. December 11, 2002, in Adena Regional Medical Center.
He was born February 29, 1972, in Columbus.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, JoAnn and Russell D. Poole, Chillicothe; his fiancee Carol Bell, Chillicothe, sister, Hattie Garten, Chillicothe; sister and brother-in-law, Tammy (Randy) Blair, Laurelville; brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Serena) Garten, Waverly; his paternal grandmother, Margaret Tigner; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special nephew, C.J. Garten, and many aunt and uncles. He was predeceased by his father, Harl R. Garten.
Mr. Garten served his country in the Navy. He was a 1991 graduate of Unioto High School. He was an avid hunter and also enjoyed playing softball and throwing darts.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Lighthouse Ministry, 2295 S. High St., Columbus, with Pastor Herschel Holley officiating. Military graveside committal services will follow at Noon in the Franklin Hills Memory Garden, Lithopolis. Friends may call Friday (Today) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Haller Funeral Home.
Ruby Ann Payton
Ruby Ann Payton, 66, of H and N Mobile Villa, Kingston, died at her residence unexpectedly.
She was born April 21, 1939, in Cannon, Ky., to the late John H. and Lucy Ann Barnes Hammons.
Ruby is survived by daughters, Mary (David) Johnson, of Chillicothe, Sheila (Ed) Robere, of Gresham, Oregon, Carolyn Sue Stanhope; a son, Keith (Penny) Payton, of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren; brothers, Chester Hammons, of Cincinnati, and Marlin Hammons, of Michigan; sisters, Jane Dunham, of Cincinnati, Virgie Dunham, of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Pheabie Daniels, of London, Ky., Edalin Hammons, of Warren, Michigan, Martha Stanhope, of Chillicothe; and nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Kingston Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 15, 2002, in Hammons Cemetery, Greenroad, Ky, by the Hopper Funeral Home, Barboursville, Kentucky. Local arrangements were by the Ware Funeral Home.
Betty Maxine Pettit
Betty Maxine Pettit, 71, of Springfield, died Wednesday afternoon, December 11, 2002, in her residence.
She was born October 8, 1931, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the daughter of James and Phoeba (Ward) Butcher. Mrs. Pettit was a member of Overly Chapel of Chillicothe and the owner of the Edgewood Mobile Home Park.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammi Carl, of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Robyn Pettit, of Springfield; six grandchildren, Todd and Carol Pettit, Rodney and Lori Pettit, Michelle and Greg Deiser, Matt Stamper, Wyatt Carl, Jessica Carl, all of Springfield; two great grandchildren, Colton Deiser and Maxwell Pettit; four sisters, Roberta Graves and husband, Herb, Bernice Bolles and Fred, Shirley Flannery, all of Chillicothe, Connie Brown and husband, Gene, of Texas; two brothers, Roy Butcher, of Chillicothe, James Butcher and his wife, Dorothy, of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl Robert Pettit, in 200; sister, Margaret Hawk; and brother, Robert Butcher.
A gathering of friends and family will be held in the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, Springfield, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor David Bolles, of Overly Chapel officiating. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Community hospital, 2615 East high Street, Ohio 45505.

Mary Belle Savage, 40, of Peebles, died Tuesday, at her residence.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will follow in the White Oak Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

James Timothy Sullivan, 67, died Thursday, in Columbus.

William M. Blocker, 70, of Piketon, died Wednesday, in the Cincinnati Veterans Administration Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 Monday, December 16, 2002, at the Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, with Brother Emerson Montgomery. Burial will be at the Dayton Veteran National Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home 1/2 prior to the service on Monday.

Melvin O. Gallimore, 59, of Chillicothe, died Friday, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.

Robin L. Grubb
Robin L. Grubb, 28, of Chillicothe, died December 11, 2002, in Columbus, unexpectedly.
She was born July 25, 1974, in Ross County, to Oliver D. Grubb and Lora M. McComis Polen, who survive.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her son, Travis Barnett; a brother, Dale (Mary) Grubb; her stepfather, Keith Polen; all of Chillicothe; a niece, Chelsey Grubb; a nephew, Christopher Williamson; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call 11 to 1 Monday at Haller's.
