David Neil Long, age 41, of Chillicothe, died Friday morning at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.
Arrangements are pending at the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort.
Barry Lew Pittenger
Barry Lew Pittenger, 47, of Hillsboro, passed from this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, as the result of an auto accident, in Highland County. He was born July 2, 1955, in Columbus, the son of Richard and Wanda G. Richards Pittenger. In 1990 he married Lee Ann Ross, who survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Wanda Pittenger, of Chillicothe; a daughter and son-in-law, Nikki Renee and Kevin Adkins, Coalton; a son, Zeke Jacob Pittenger, Columbus; step-sons, Jason and Jeremy Sewards, Chillicothe; a granddaughter, Olivia; a sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Rocky White, Chillicothe; a brother, Timothy Pittenger, Wellston; and a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Tammy Pittenger, Chillicothe. His father preceded him in death.
Barry was a self-employed carpenter. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Rawlins officiating. Following cremation, committal will be in Hamden Cemetery at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Adena Health System, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
Eleanor J. Whitaker
Eleanor J. Whitaker, 90, formerly of Chillicothe, died Wednesday, in DeSoto, Texas.

Audra E. White
Audra Earnestine White, 94, of Chillicothe, died 10:40 pm, Thursday, December 12, 2002, in the Heartland of Chillicothe Nursing Home, following an extended illness.
She was born September 25, 1908, in Belleville, WV, the daughter of the late David and the late Deborah Mills Swain. She was married to Harry M. Smith, who died in 1941. In 1951, she married Romie White, who preceded her in death in 1988.
Surviving are two daughters, Gladine Newlun, Chillicothe, Irene Fries, Parkersburg, WV; three sons and daughters-in-law, Harry E. and Elner Smith, Billie C. and Charlotte Smith, and Bobbie F. and Anne Smith, all of Chillicothe; 10 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. One grandson, three sisters, and two brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. White was a homemaker, raised the children, and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 16, 2002, in the Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home, with Reverend Fred Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Eleanor J. Whitaker
Eleanor J. Whitaker, 90, formerly of Chillicothe, died Wednesday, in DeSoto, Texas.

Ivel Gene Wilcox
Ivel Gene Wilcox, 67, of Chillicothe, died 5:55 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2002, in the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born November 10, 1935, in Auxier, Kentucky, to the late Levi and Kitty Hampton Wilcox.
Surviving are sisters, Bessie Fannin, of VanLear, Kentucky, and Dorothy Lawwill, of Hillsboro, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Ivel Gene Wilcox, Jr.; a sister, Ruth Rice; and brothers, Robert and Russell Wilcox.
Ivel, a Master Sergeant, served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War and the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Wilcox retired from the military after 25 years of service to his country. He was an employee of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2002, in the Ware Funeral Home, with Rev. Randall VanHoose officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad. Friends may call at Ware's one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Stephen D. Clark
Stephen D. Clark, 55, of Weeki Wachee, FL, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, November 27, 2002, on his way to work.
He was the son of C. Donald and Esther Bethel Clark, born on June 25, 1947, in Chillicothe. On July 2, 1982, he married Diane Bork, who survives.
Also surviving are six sons, James M. Clark, Palm Harbor, FL, Jerry A. Clark, Dunedin, FL, Jason S., Joshua A., Jonathan E., Jeffrey A., all at home. Also surviving are his parents of Port Richey, FL, and a brother, David M. Clark, of Port Richey, FL. Mr. Clark was the grandfather of five.
He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was retire as manager of the Boy Scouts Reservation at Sand Hill, at the time of his death he was employed by Schmitt Inc.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2002, at Sand Hill Scout Reservation, Brooksville, FL, with Rev. Tom Derryberry officiating. Interment at Florida National Cemetery will be at a later date.

David Douglas Clary
David Douglas Clary, 53, of McArthur, died Saturday, December 14, 2002, at his residence. He was born September 3, 1949, in McArthur, the son of Ruby Henderson Clary, of Chillicothe, and the late Lloyd H. Clary.
He is survived by daughters, Cindy Clary, of Lancaster, Terri (Tim) Cox, of Mt. Holly, N.C.; son, Todd Alan (Christy) Clary, of McArthur; six grandchildren; sister, Ragene Scaggs; brother, Richard Clary; and special nephew, Michael Scaggs, all of Chillicothe; and special friend and caregiver, Margaret Pine Clary, of McArthur; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by son, David D. "Buddy" Clary, Jr.; daughter, Gena Marie Clary; and sister, Phyllis Mallow.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Lebanon Church, Vinton County, with Rev. Paul Mercer officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (Today) at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family through Garrett Funeral Home.
Nina Ruth Gardner
Nina Ruth Gardner, 60, of Marietta, died Monday, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the New St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hadley Funeral Home, Marietta Chapel, 500 5th St. A vigil service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Christine S. Maier
Christine Suddath Maier, 96, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Sunday morning, Dec. 15, 2002, at her home at Traditions of Chillicothe, surrounded by her family. Her beloved staff of Traditions and Hospice of Adena Health System cared for her. She was born May 21, 1906, in Coffee County, Georgia, the daughter of George Harvey and Lena Mullikin Suddath. On Dec. 26, 1927, she married William Jacob Maier, who preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1987.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-Iaw, Shirley and Dr. Max Hickman, Chillicothe; grandchildren, Dr. Lane Maier and husband, B.J. Layne, William J. III and wife, Judy Maier, Steven C. and wife, Ann Maier, Jay M. Hickman, Holly J. and husband, Hal Levinson and Lance W. and wife, Janora Hickman; great grandchildren, Steven Maier, Adam Levinson, Taylor, Hayley and Jacob Hickman, John and William Maier and Christine Maier, many loving nieces and nephews in the Maier and Suddath families and a dear friend, Terry Osborne, Columbus. Her parents; a son, Cmdr. William J. Maier, Jr. USN (ret); a daughter-in-law, Patricia Maier; sisters, Pauline Green, Maud Suddath, Eva Bolton, Grace Nickles; and brothers, Carlton, Jackson, Foy and Ross Suddath, preceded her in death.
Christine was a graduate of Valdosta High School, Valdosta, GA, and attended the Florida State College for Women. In addition to rearing her family, for many years she was an employee of the National Biscuit Company in Atlanta, GA. In 1975 she and her husband relocated to Chillicothe.
She was a life long Methodist and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Susan Henry Circle and the Nathaniel Massie Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, serving as Chaplain.
Funeral services will be held at I :00 p.m. Thursday in the Trinity United Methodist Church with the Revs. David and Elizabeth Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity U.M. Church, 42 S. Mulberry St., Chillicothe or the Traditions Foundation, in care of Traditions of Chillicothe, 142 University Dr., Chillicothe.
Christine lived a full and joyous life, making many friends and touching many lives along the way. She will be lovingly remembered.

Owen McNichols, 86, of South Bloomingsville, died Monday, at Berger Hospital.
