Sandy S. Garner
Sandy S. Garner, 61, of Queen Dr. Chillicothe, died 11:53 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 10, 1942, in Chillicothe, to the late Adam T. and Genevieve B. Tarlton Gartner. On Jan. 15, 1987, she married David J. Garner, who died Sept. 17, 1993.
Sandy is survived by sons, David A. Kerns and Donald W. Kerns both of Columbus, and Daniel L. Kerns at home; a daughter, Debra K. Kerns of Piketon; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Marley) Tarlton of Lake City, Fla., Larry E. (Amy L.) Gartner of Chillicothe and Mike (Cindy) Gartner of Wooster, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and special friends.
She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1626 and F. O. E. Aerie 600.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003 in the Ware Funeral Home with Rev. Derek Catron officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Wares from 6 to 8 p. m. Tuesday.
Gladys E. Endicott
Gladys E. Endicott, 77, of S.R. 772, Piketon, died Saturday, October 4, 2003, at her winter home, in Inverness, FL. She was born on March 28, 1926, in Collierstown, VA, to the late Henry and Iva West Long.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Endicott on March 23, 1996. Surviving are two step-sons, Bennie Jo (Lilly) Endicott and Wm. Rance (Paulette) Endicott, all of Piketon; one sister, Ruby Waldrop, of York, SC; a daughter-in-law, Joan Endicott, of Columbus; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a step-son, Donal Endicott; a step-daughter, Dalphine Endicott and one brother.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Beverly Hills, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, at Botkin Funeral Home, in Waverly, with Ronald Endicott officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Smith Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Muriel Francis
Muriel Francis, 71, of Clarksburg, died 9:10 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2003, in the Adena Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 3, 1932, in Ross County, to the late William and Margaret Willett Woods. On December 5, 1950, she married William H. Francis, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, William Michael "Mike" (Cindy) Francis; daughters, Katherine Ann (William) Starr, all of Frankfort, OH, Nancy Ellen (Ron) Beaver, of Naples, FL, and Tamera Lynn "Tammy" (Herald) Herman, of Waverly, OH; grandchildren, Leslie Renée (Jon) Starr Dreitzler, Benjamin Daniel Arledge, William Maxton "Max" Francis and his fiancée Jenny Bednarczyk, Ralph Brandon Francis, William Rhett Starr, Addie Jane Herman, Corey Michael Francis and Ernest Drew Herman; great-grandchildren, Breanna Renée Dreitzler and Brooke Ashton Dreitzler; brothers and sisters, Mary (Bobby) Kerr and Rose (Joe) Montgomery, all of Columbus, Earl (Martha) Woods, of Huber Heights, Florence Tackett, Thelma Tackett, Robert (Geraldine) Woods, James (Sandy) Woods and Gary Woods, all of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews; and her poodle, Flo. She was predeceased by a brother, Larry Woods.
Muriel retired from Sanese Vending.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2003, in the Ware Funeral Home, with Rev. James C. King officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Bambi C. Rinehart-Garrison, 19, of South Salem, died Friday October 3, 2003, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A memorial service for Lewis E. Knecht will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 10, at Locust Grove Cemetery, in Vinton County. Military honors will be provided by Ross County Veteran's Firing Squad.

Kenneth Blaine Moore
Kenneth Blaine Moore, age 42, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, October 5, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 21, 1961, the son of Gerald and Diana Grooms Moore. He was a truck driver, a member of the American Legion Post #9094, the F.O.E. #1161, Highland Lodge F. & A.M. #38 and the Independent Biker's Association. He is survived by his parents, Gerald and Diana Moore of Lewisburg, Ohio; his daughter, Christina Moore at home, a sister and brother-in-law, Denise and Nick Harrison of Ormond Beach, Fla., nieces, Shannon Moore, Cathleen and Trisha Loy, nephews Tyler Harrison and Shawn Moore, mother-in-law and father-in-law, June and George Gibeau of Fla., brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robin Moore of Michigan, Jerry and Ioala Gibeau of Missouri, John and Rhonda Gibeau of Fla., Cathy and Tom Schreck of New Mexico, and Tom and Kim Gibeau of Cincinnati.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah L. Gibeau Moore in April 18, 2001, and his brother Greg Moore.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Cremation will follow. Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. Thursday.

Kenneth E. Rittinger, age 78, of Circleville, died Monday, October 6, 2003 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Columbus.
Elder John Thacker
Elder John Thacker, 82, of Schaffer Road, Waverly, Ohio, passed away at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at his home. He was born June 15, 1921, in Pike County, KY, the son of the late Harmon David and Martha (Thacker) Thacker. On April 2, 1949, he married Bessie Thacker, who preceded him in death on January 24, 2001.
John is survived by one daughter, Callie (Donald) Mankin, Sr., of Waverly, Ohio; three grandchildren, John Mankin, Waverly, Elizabeth (Thomas) Hamner, Waverly, and Donald (Karen) Mankin, Jr., Hurricane, WV; ten great-grandchildren; Bobbi Jo, Chelsea, Franki, Jonni, John Jr., Dalton, Riley, Donald, Thomas and Hayden. John is also survived by one sister, Magdalene (John) Lafferty, Prestonsburg, KY, and one half-sister, Glemal Thacker, Ohio. John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, John Roger; four sisters; three brothers, and one half-brother.
John was a coal miner and truck driver before becoming employed at the VA in Chillicothe, where he retired as assistant fire chief, in 1981. He served in the Army in World War II, in Rome-Arno, Rhineland, Southern France, Central Europe, and Saint Lucia British West Indies. He received the EAME Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, with Bronze Arrowhead.
John was an Elder in the Philadelphia Old Regular Baptist Church, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Amvets and he was a Kentucky Colonel.
Funeral services were held Sunday in the Philadelphia Old Regular Baptist Church. Military graveside services, conducted by the Johnson's Creek DAV, followed in Coleman Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Haller Funeral Home.
Georgia A. Wallace
Georgia A. Wallace, 89, of Londonderry, died Sunday, at Adena Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Walnut Hills Cemetery, in Columbus. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (Today) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corinth Church.
Marjorie E. Wills
Marjorie E. Wills, 69, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Monday morning, October 6, 2003, at her residence, following a brief illness. She was born April 14, 1934, in Chillicothe, the daughter of Clyde James and Lovina Sampson Burns. On June 4, 1978, she married Ronald L. Wills, who survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Ruth Lovina Burns, Chillicothe; step-daughters Rhonda and husband, Nicholas Schneider, Casselberry, FL, and Kathleen and husband, Steve Alderman, Chillicothe; step-sons, Blaine Wills, Chillicothe, and James and wife, Nicole Wills, Londonderry; step-grandchildren, Kevin Schneider and Kristen Shaw; and six step-great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Conley, Jeanette Oates, Bonnie Montgomery and Denise and husband, Harold Ramsey, all of Chillicothe; and brothers, Robert W. and wife, Thelma Burns, Jack and wife, Linda burns and William Burns, all of Chillicothe, and a host of nieces and nephews. Her father preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wills was an operator supervisor with the Chillicothe Telephone Company with 36 years of service, retiring in 1989.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home, with Rev. H. R. Grimm officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ross County Unit of the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Adena Health System.
Donald L. Bacus
Donald L. Bacus, born December 28, 1939, in Radcliff, Ohio, to John and Margery Bacus, went to his Heavenly Home on October 9, 2003.
