Lee Eugene Cormany
Lee Eugene Cormany, 91, of Seventh St. Waverly, OH, passed away 6:55 p.m. Thursday October 30, 2003, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, OH.
Lee was born December 28, 1911, in Akron, OH, the son of the late Theron Isiah Cormany and Marcia Elizabeth (Cahow) Cormany. On June 27, 1936, Lee was united in marriage to Mildred Pauline (Tharp) Cormany.
He is survived by a loving family who will miss him dearly, his wife of 67 1/2 years, Mildred Tharp Cormany, of Waverly, OH; son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Mary Cormany, of Lakeview, OH, son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Cynthia Cormany, of Fairlawn, OH; daughter, Mary Ellen Cormany, of Waverly, OH, 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, June Cormany, of Chillicothe, OH, and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, three brothers, preceded him in death, William, Earl and Paul Cormany and a great-grandson.
Lee graduated from Kenmore High School, in 1929, and Miami University in Oxford, OH, in 1934. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after 43 years of service. He held many different management positions, both domestic and international, during his career. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, in the Canton Consistory and a member of the Joppa Lodge, in Akron, OH, for 61 years and a life member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, at Miami University.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2003, at Ivy Chapel, Greenlawn Cemetery, Akron, OH, with Rev. D. Lynn Snider officiating. Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home, in Waverly, from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2003. Masonic services by Orient Lodge #321 F. & A. M. will be held 2 p.m. Sunday.

Elbert H. Diehl
Elbert H. Diehl, 53, of Chillicothe, passed from this life to be with the Lord on Friday morning, Oct. 31, 2003 in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born July 20, 1950 in Hocking County, the son of John and Anna Lewis Diehl.
Surviving are brothers, Louis Diehl and John Diehl, both of Londonderry, aunts, Norma Winks and Esther Fisher, both of Chillicothe and Dora Temple, Circleville, an uncle, Everett and wife, Vi Diehl, Circleville, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. His parents and a special friend, Sue Brammell preceded him in death.
Elbert had been a groundskeeper for the Chillicothe Country Club.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Winks officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm on Monday.
Milford Hart
Milford Hart, 91 of Laurelville, died Friday at his home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Hill Funeral Home, Kingston, with burial in the Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Timothy Douglas Schwalbach
Timothy Douglas Schwalbach, 21, of Waverly, died Wednesday, in Pike County.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov, 4, 2003, at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly. Burial will be in Mount Latham Cemetery, Waverly. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.Tuesday at the funeral home.
Loberta Speakman
Loberta Speakman, 86, of Margate, Florida, died Oct. 24, 2003, in Margate.
She was born Feb. 28, 1917, in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Victor and Rebecca Bost Pontious. Her husband, Robert J. Speakman, sons, Robert and Francis, brothers, Paul, Donald and Gerald, and sisters, Ilene Ziegler and Beatrice Mowbery, also predeceased her. Surviving are a son, E. E. "Woody" King, Lutz, Florida; sisters, Geradine Bostwick, Beverly Hollis and Delitha Daniels, all of Chillicothe, sister-in-laws, Betty and Esther Pontious, both of Chillicothe, 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call at Hill's from 10 a.m. till the hour of service Monday.

Dorothy Mae Walters, 90, of Glenn Ave, Washington Court House, OH, died 4:25 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2003, at Court House Manor, Washington Court House.
Teresa L. DeLong
Teresa Lynn DeLong, 45, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly October 29, 2003, at her residence. She was born September 18, 1958, in Chillicothe to John R. and Reva I. (Bradley) Curtis.
Surviving are her two sons, Joseph R. and Paul J. DeLong, both of Chillicothe; her father John R. Curtis, Chillicothe; a sister and brother-in-law Sherry and John A. Hawk, of Chillicothe; her maternal grandmother Bertha Stevens Bradley, of Columbia, S.C.; her former husband, Jeffrey L. DeLong, Chillicothe; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her mother.
Teresa was a 1976 graduate of Zane Trace High School. She was also a graduate of Class Act Beauty School and a licensed beautician. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday November 7, 2003, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Haller Funeral Home.
Virginia D. Maughmer Barnett
Virginia D. Maughmer Barnett, 85, of Chillicothe, died 12:26 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2003, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a short illness.
She was born June 7, 1918, in Jackson Co., OH, to the late Carl and Osie Sands Leach. On October 28, 1940, she married Robert E. Maughmer, who died December 5, 1988. On February 14, 1990, she married John D. Barnett, who survives.
Also surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Victory L. and Kermit King, of Ellenton, FL; grandchildren, Todd Jon Skinner, of North Port, FL, and Rex Robert Skinner, of Sarasota, FL; stepsons, John Jr., Samuel and James Barnett; nine step-grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen (Norman) Gossard, of Lima, OH, Arthella (Charles) Hardy, of Palmetto, FL, and Betty Clark, of Tampa, FL; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Leach, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Cleo Gillette and a brother, James Leach.
Virginia was a charter member of the Adena Road Church of Christ and was an avid gardener.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2003, in the Ware Funeral Home, with Jon Creamer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Reverend Arnold Denney
Reverend Arnold Denney, 73, of Beaver, died at 10:46 p.m. Friday at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cox Funeral Home in Beaver, with burial in Givens Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Elizabeth A. Seekatz
Elizabeth A. Seekatz, 89, of Chillicothe, died 8:55 a.m. Sunday, November 2, 2003, in Westmoreland Place, following an extended illness.
She was born April 20, 1914, in Chillicothe, OH, to the late Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Kern Betsch. On July 26, 1940, she married Willard F. Seekatz, who died April 7, 1997.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Willard David and Mary Seekatz, of Chillicothe, and Richard Joseph and Linda Seekatz, of North River, NY; grandchildren, Rebecca (Dave) Crawford and David Allen Seekatz, all of Chillicothe, Brent Seekatz, of Columbus, and Nathan Seekatz, of Zanesville; great-granddaughters, Mettea and Michelle Crawford; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, James, Everett and Walter Betsch.
Elizabeth was a member of Orchard Hill United Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2003, in the Ware Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Smith and Rev. Joseph Betsch officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Clara M. Vest
Clara M. Vest, 83 of W. 4th St. Waverly, died Sunday November 2, 2003 at the Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus. She was born on November 1, 1920 in Higby, Ohio to the late John Renick and Georgia Harris Vest. She was a retired legal secretary from Rittenhour's Law Office in Piketon for 35 years, a former Pike County Probate Court Clerk with 25 years of service and a 40 years member of the Waverly First Presbyterian Church.
Leroy 'Scott' Clark
Leroy "Scott" Clark, 82, of Chillicothe, died 11 a.m. Sunday, November 2, 2003, in Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center, following a two month illness.
He was born October 31, 1921, in Ross County, to the late Leroy S. Sr. and Margaret Wade Clark.
Surviving are a brother Lyle V. (Cathy) Clark, of Chillicothe; a sister, Mary C. Leach, of Chillicothe; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Pauline Althouse and Eleanor Miller.
Leroy was awarded the Bronze Sta, while serving as a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Carpenter's Union Local 437, American Legion Post 142, Ross County Cattlemen Association and the American Angus Association. Mr. Clark loved high school sports and followed the Huntington High School's girls volleyball and basketball.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at the house, at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ware Funeral Home.
