Janice V. Green
Janice V. Green, 82, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at her residence. She was born Sept. 2, 1921, in Lodi, Ohio, the daughter of Howard F. and Viola M. Wetzel Frick. On Sept. 10, 1949, she married James Green, Jr., who preceded her in death Apr. 13, 1982.
Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, James H. and Ruth E. Green, Chillicothe, a son-in-law, John Tackett, Pikeville, KY, grandchildren, Stacey Green, Carrie Green, Brian Green and Darrell Green, a great-grandson, Orion Green, a great-nephew, Joe Murphy, all of Chillicothe and host of dear friends. Her parents, a daughter, Barbara Ann Green Tackett and a grandson, Jason Duvall Tackett, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Green was a 1949 graduate of Central Michigan University and was a teacher for the Unioto School System, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 419.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home, with Rev. Fred Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Archie E. Hayburn
Archie E. Hayburn, 99, of Chillicothe, died Monday, at the Kingston Health Care Center.

Evelyn L. Peart
Evelyn Lucille Peart, 80, of Chillicothe, formerly of Circleville, died October 11, 2003, in Chillicothe.

Alvin N. Price, 75, of Londonderry, died Sunday evening, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.

David H. Roberts, Sr.
David H. Roberts, Sr., 62, of Cliff Run Rd., Bainbridge, died Sunday, November 2, 2003, at his residence. He was born June 13, 1941, in Montgomery County, to the late William C. and Louise June Shear Roberts.
He is survived by four children, Lori (Greg) Schweitzer, of Londonderry, Tonya Sioux Roberts, of Portsmouth, Annette McKellop, of Missouri, and David W. (Sondi) Roberts, of Bainbridge; several grandchildren; one sister, Sandra Knasel, of Dayton; special friends, Gib Brady, of South Salem, William Hubbard, of Bainbridge, Charles Faulconer, of Rainsboro, Betty Potts, of Bainbridge, and Jenny Gephart, of Bainbridge.
Dave retired from Navistar Truck Co., after 30 yrs. He was owner of 4R Farms, where he raised Paint and Arabian Horses. He was Chairman of the Board at Rockhold Brown & Co. Bank, and partner of Roberts General Store, Cynthiana.
Dave was a member of Pure Word Ministries of Rainsboro and attended Fairview Chapel.
There will be a graveside service 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2003, in the Bainbridge Cemetery, with Rev. Don Tackett officiating. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to the Pure Word Ministries, 11526 US RT 50, Hillsboro, OH 45133.

Lyman D. Smith
Lyman D. Smith, 84, of Londonderry, died Sunday, November 2, 2003, at his residence. He was born January 30, 1919, in Harrison Twp., Vinton County, the son of the late Henry A. and Ida Dixon Smith.
He was retired from the B and O Railroad after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Shenandoah Club and Loyal Star Lodge. He was a former Vinton County Sheriff's Deputy.
He is survived by daughter, Sharon (James) Woltz, of Londonderry; son, Michael Smith, of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Pamela (Arbie) Jude, of Londonderry, Julie Ann Smith, of Huntsville, Alabama, Lisa (Jamie) Watson, of Chillicothe, Brian (Melissa) Woltz, of Ray; four great grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew Swaim, and Jonathon and Derek Woltz; one great great grandson, Gage Allen Morris; three brothers, Owen Smith, of Michigan, Homer C. Smith, of McArthur, and Donald (Geneva) Smith, of Londonderry; three sisters-in-law, Lucy Smith, of Ray, Velma Smith, of Tipton, MI, and Edna Smith, of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lorraine McCloud Smith, May 26 1992; two sisters, Lucille Robinette and Martha Hunter; seven brothers, Russell, Rodney, Howard, Edward, Randell, Eugene and Lawrence Smith.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur, with Rev. James McFadden officiating. Burial will be in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the funeral home.

Christopher W. Stewart, 50, of Grove City, died unexpectedly.

Lora "Dow" Summers, 85, died Monday Nov. 3 shortly after 6 p.m. at Adena Regional Medical Center.

Robert A. Davidson, Sr.
Robert A. Davidson, Sr., 60, of Kingston, died November 4, 2003, at his residence. He was born September 5, 1943, in Grove City, the son of Frederick and Anna (Seymour) Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Seymour.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Marshall) Davidson; sons, Robert A. Davidson, Jr., of Chillicothe, and Samuel (Tiera) Davidson, of Stoutsville; daughters, Barbara (Terry) Johnson, of Duvall, and Amy Davidson, of Kingston; grandchildren, T.J., Bradley, Matthew, Caitlyn, Sarah and Gary; brother, Thomas (Dorothy) Davidson, of Lucasville; and sister, Mary (Fred) Greeno, of Circleville.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2003, at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dr. Atlas M. Jones Jr., 56, of Frankfort, died Tuesday, at his residence.
Irris M. Kendall
Irris M. Kendall, 90, of Chillicothe, died Tuesday morning November 4, 2003, at her residence, following an extended illness.
She was born July 16, 1913, in Ross County, to the late Omus and Arlene Carroll Payne.
Surviving are her eleven children, Virgil Mankin, Jr., of Austintown, Ohio, Gale Mankin, of Chillicothe, Betty Mankin (Richard) Wunder, of Columbus, Robert Mankin, of Newbury Park, California, Jack (Sharon) Mankin, of Columbus, Patsy Mankin (Bob) Raines, of Chillicothe, Carolyn Mankin Hatfield, of Chillicothe, Dianne Kendall (Tom) Hewitt, of Sebring, Florida, Norma Kendall Annon and Ruth Kendall, both of Frankfort, Paul (Sandra) Kendall, of Clarksburg; twenty three grandchildren; thirty four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dora Payne, of New Holland, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Donald and Neil Payne and sister, Freda Justice.
Mrs. Kendall had been a cook for many years at the former Massieville School, was a retired cook from Chillicothe City Schools and had been a Girl Scout Leader.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2003, in Ware Funeral Home, with Rev. Marland Penwell officiating.
Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
