Kelsey L. Grable-Strausbaugh
Kelsey Lea Grable-Strausbaugh, of Chillicothe, was stillborn 9:52 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2003, in Adena Regional Medical Center, to Joni Lea Grable and Shane Gregory Strausbaugh, both of Chillicothe.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by grandparents, David and Virginia Grable, Marcella Strausbaugh and Eugene Strausbaugh, all of Chillicothe; great-grandparents, Betty and David Crabtree, Tom and Joyce Chaney and Charles Crabtree, all of Chillicothe, and Mildred Eblin, of Circleville, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2003, in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, with Rev. Alice Seely officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Ware Funeral Home.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Kelsey Grable-Strausbaugh Fund, in care of Huntington Banks.
Donna F. Wipert
Donna F. Wipert, 65, of Pam Lane, Chillicothe, died Monday at her father's residence on Edwards Road, Lucasville.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway. Burial will follow in Garvin Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
George Fonton Bee
George Fonton Bee, 67, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Kingston, died 10:59 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2003, in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Memphis.
He was born November 2, 1936, in Ross County, to the late Arlie S. and Hattie E. Black Bee. He married the former Mae Fletcher, who died in 1985.
Surviving are sisters, Sara Bee (James) Gay, of Chillicothe, and Virginia Bee Park, of Kingsport, TN; a brother, Arnold (Katie) Bee, of Chillicothe; four nephews; three nieces; five grandnephews; and five grandnieces.
George, a career soldier, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He was a ROTC Instructor and an assistant basketball coach for Westside High School in Memphis.
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2003, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Soldiers Square, with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad. Calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of Ware Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Arthur 'Art' E. Shewalter
Arthur "Art" E. Shewalter, of Bowersville, Ohio, passed away November 12, 2003, after a brief illness of three months. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Mildred Shewalter and a sister, Arthela Penisten. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Jo (Martin) Shewalter; his son, Richard Shewalter, of Jamestown; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Judy Shewalter, of Beavercreek; brother, Robert Shewalter and friend, Carol Wallace, of Robertsdale, Alabama; granddaughter, Stephanie Shewalter, of Hillsboro; sisters-in-law, Ruth Reitinger Holmes and Sue Stahler, of California, and Karleen Martin, of Frankfort. He was blessed with numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, a lifetime of friends, and his special "Dog-Dog" Ginger.
He graduated from Union-Sciota High School, before serving in the U.S. Army, including being recalled from the reserves for the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge from the service, he was involved in the radio broadcasting industry in all capacities. His disc-jockey alter ego was "Art Lane." After leaving the radio business, he and his wife moved to the Jamestown area in the 1970s, where he managed a service station until his retirement in 1995. He was an active member of the Pleasantview Church of Christ, member of the Highland Masonic Lodge #38 F & AM and American Legion Post 155, in Jamestown.
Services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, in Jamestown, where friends may call Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the David L. Rike Center, Miami Valley Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
Francis Earl Hart
Francis Earl Hart, 82, went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2003. He was staying at the Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Francis was born April 18, 1921 in Salt Creek Township to the late Allen and Margaret Graham Hart. On September 22, 1947, he married his beloved wife Jennis Avanell (Dillie) Hart who survives.
Also surviving are sons Earl Ronnie (Sharon) Hart of South Bloomingville; Ellis Lee (Mary) Hart of Baltimore; daughters, Sharon Connie Hart of Hudson Florida; Clarissa Nancy (Jim) Winnett of Londonderry; Grace Ann "Sue" (Bill) Danner South Bloomingville; Carolyn Jean (Randie) West of Laurelville; sister Lillie Hill of Kingston and brother Hollis Hart of Logan.
Francis was blessed with 25 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was anticipating the arrival of the ninth great-grandchild in February. He was preceded in death by one son, Teddy Ray Hart, one granddaughter Misty Lynn Hart, brothers Orville, Fillmore and Milford Hart, and sister Agnes McNichols.
Francis retired from the Tar Hollow State Park after 33 years and was a member of the Mount Carmel Community Church and Fellowship Group. He was also a member of the Vinton County Senior Citizens Center. He was well-loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Carmel Church with Pastor Jack Mohler and Rev. Martha James officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday (today), 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur and one hour prior to services at the church Tuesday.

Geraldine Ison, 85, of Liberty Hill Road, passed from this life 11:42 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2003, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, into eternal life cradled in the arms of Jesus. She spent her final days surrounded by the family she enjoyed so much.

Mary Ellen Mahaffey, 90, of Chillicothe, died Saturday in St. Rita's Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Michael Eugene Wilson, 53, of Greenfield, died Saturday at his residence. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home, Greenfield. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Eagle services will begin at 7:30 p.m. Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
Mary Ellen Mahaffey
Mary Ellen Mahaffey, 90, formerly of Chillicothe, died 9:24 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2003, in St. Rita's Home, Columbus, following an extended illness.
She was born October 19, 1913, in Nelsonville, Ohio, to the late John M. and Velma C. Eyler Dougherty. On June 1, 1936, she married Norman W. Mahaffey who died September 30, 1956.
Surviving are children, Rebecca Louise (Paul L.) Becker, of San Antonio, TX, Katie (John K.) Rourke, of Chillicothe and John P. Mahaffey, of Columbus; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Diane) Dougherty, of Tiffin, OH; sisters, Madeleine (Burnell) Fletcher, of Chillicothe, Helenamae (Howard) Baugh, of Weyers Cave, VA and Geraldine Vogel, of Perrysburg, OH; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Mahaffey had owned and operated the Business Training School in Chillicothe, retiring in 1974. She was a longtime volunteer for catholic missions and for the American Heart Association.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2003 with Fr. James Black celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday (today) at Ware Funeral Home where a wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Daisy Marie Moss
Daisy Moss, 87, who was born in Louisa, Ky., March 24, 1916, passed away at St. Ann's Hospital Nov. 20, 2003, after a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong member of Whisler Presbyterian Church and lived most of her life in the Whisler and Kingston areas. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and spent 15 happy years working for J. C. Penny's.
