Noah Clinton Patterson
Noah Clinton Patterson, 6, of Richmond Dale, died unexpectedly at 9:56 a.m. Thursday, December 25, 2003, in Adena Regional Medical Center.
He was born November 6, 1997, in Chillicothe. Surviving are his mother, Ronda Lawhorn Patterson, of Richmond Dale and father, Jeffery Patterson, of McArthur.
Also surviving are brothers, Jerrod L and Jason L. Patterson; sister, Jeanette L. Patterson; grandmothers, Carol Lawhorn, of Richmond Dale, and Yvonne Patterson, of McArthur; great-grandmother, Ethel Lawhorn, of Richmond Dale; aunt, Tammy Lawhorn, of Richmond Dale; uncles, Kevin (Kristie) Lawhorn and Carl (Tonya) Lawhorn, all of Chillicothe, Doug (Tisha) Patterson, of Ray and numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by grandfathers, Alonzo "Buster" Lawhorn and Marvin "Jack" Patterson.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2003, in Richmond Dale Baptist Church with Rev. G.T. Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Ware Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Noah Fund in care of any Oak Hill Bank
Robert Dawson Baker
Robert Dawson Baker, 91, of Lucasville, died Sunday at the Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Howard United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Otway.
Calling hours will not be observed.

D. Philip Dresbach, 74, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Friday morning, Dec. 26, 2003, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Michael L. Howerton
Michael L. Howerton, 51, of Chillicothe, formerly of English, Ind., passed away at 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 26, 2003, in Jewish Hospital, Louisville, Ky.
He was born February 2, 1952, in Louisville, Ky., to Milburn Gene and Deloris (Hubert) Howerton. On December 14, 1974, he married the former Margaret Apple, who survives.
Also surviving are his son, Michael L. Howerton, Ill., of English, Ind.; a daughter, Alice R. Howerton, Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren, Brook, Carter, and Peyton Howerton; his mother, Deloris Howerton, of Ferdinand, Ind.; maternal grandmother, Lula Enlow, of Palmyra, Ind.; three brothers, Milburn G. Howerton Ill., of Grantsburg, Ind., and Patrick and Jon Howerton, both of Marengo, Ind.; four sisters, Rebecca Kruger, Sellersburg, Ind., Robbin Winkler, St. Anthony, Ind., Luanna Howerton, Ferdinand, Ind., and Teresa Broughton, of Indiana. He was predeceased by a brother, Steven Howerton, and his father.
Mr. Howerton was the Utilities Foreman for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Grandview Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Haller Funeral Home.
Wesley R. Jones
Wesley R. Jones, age 91, of Washington Court House, died at 12:35 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Auburn Manor.
James E. 'Cork' Morris
James E. "Cork" Morris, age 68, of Frankfort, died at 9:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at Mount Carmel West Medical Center, Columbus, following a sudden illness. He was born on May 15, 1935, in Ross County, the son of the late Russell and Ruth Cozad Morris. On May 24, 1956, he married the former Lucille Overly, who survives.
Surviving are their children, David (Debra Oiler) Morris, Dan (Gwen) Morris of Chillicothe, Mike (Teresa) Morris of Frankfort, Bruce (Debbie Shoemaker) Morris of Chillicothe and Cheryl (Larry) Pennington of Washington CH; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Phyllis (Raymond) Alexander of Laurelville, Linda (Gene) Stinson of New Holland, Judy (Jim) Zimmerman of Circleville; two aunts, Goldie Morris of Wilmington and Lib Bethel of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by one brother.
Cork retired from Mead Paper, where he worked as a locomotive engineer. He retired in 1997 following over 41 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a UKC Master of Hounds of both the Ross County Coonhunters Club and the Fox Knob Coonhunters Club and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at 1 p.m. in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort, with Rev. Phillip Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Samuel N. Rogers, 73, of Circleville, died Sunday at his daughter's home in Circleville.

Marjorie Rowe, 77, of West Union, formerly of Chillicothe, died Friday at the Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth.

Luther Fay Sommers, IV
Luther Fay Sommers, IV, 20, of Chillicothe, unexpectedly passed from this life Saturday afternoon, Dec. 26, 2003, in Adena Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 3, 1983, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Luther F. Sommers, III and Leslie D. VanHoose Sommers.
Surviving are his mother, Leslie D. Haubeil and her fiancé, William Patterson, Steubenville, Ohio; his father, Luther F. Sommers, III, Columbus; paternal grandmother, Betty Bivins Chillicothe; sisters, Lashawn VanHoose, Hope Faye Sommers and Faith Ashley Sommers, all of Chillicothe; brothers, Alan Michael Sommers and Jarrod Alan Sommers, both of Chillicothe; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Luther was a drywall installer and was a member of the Calvary Apostolic Church, Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Calvary Apostolic Church with Pastor E.L. Heskett officiating. Interment will be held at the discretion of the family. Friends may call at the Calvary Apostolic Church on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home is serving the family.
Helen Louise West
Helen Louise West, 86, of Greenfield, died Friday at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson-Strueve Funeral Home, Greenfield. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery.

Lucynthia L. Geyer
Lucynthia L. Geyer, 85, of Chillicothe, died 11:19 p.m. December 30, 2003, in the Adena Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 9, 1918, in Pedro, OH, to James R. and Mary V. Delawder Adkins.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Iris K. and Gerald Wagner, of Adamsville, OH; a son and daughter-in-law, Doyle W. and Sandra K. Hoy Rann, of Chillicothe; 6 grandchildren, Cheryl Hull, Brian Wagner, Suzanne Davis, Kristi Riley, Matthew J. and Jason J. Rann; 5 great-grandchildren, Brittany and Nicholas Lyons, Erin H. and J. Vincent Riley, and Madelyn J. Rann. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, William, Floyd, Loren and Merrell Adkins; and three sisters, Eloise Adkins, Sarah Lane and Rachel Weisenberger.
Mrs. Geyer had retired from the Ohio State Highway Patrol as a driver license examiner.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Franklin County Cemetery, Coshocton, OH, with Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Haller Funeral Home.
