Roger E. Cox
Roger E. Cox, 59, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Wednesday morning, Apr. 17, 2002 in Mt. Carmel Medical Center, Columbus, following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 17, 1943 in Chillicothe, the son of Ernest and Gladys McCartney Cox.
Surviving are his former wife, Norma Jean Hanson Cox, a daughter, Sandy Taylor, sons Kyle Cox and William Cox, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Kasey, Justin, Brooklyn, Travis, Zach, Kirsten, Kelicy, Dustin and Sky, great grandchildren, Cade and Ethan, sisters and brothers-in-law, Ada and Herman Speakman, Circleville and Sandra and Donald Smith, Adelphi, brothers, Jack Cox, Hallsville, Steven Cox, CA, brothers and sisters-in-law, Granville and Shirley Cox, Stoutsville, Lawrence and June Cox, and Jerry Lee and Marsha Cox, all of Chillicothe. His parents, a daughter, Angela Cox, a grandson, Cory Cox, a sister, Carlene Arledge and brothers, Ernest Cox, Jr. and Robert Cox preceded him in death.
Mr. Cox was an employee of Mead Paper with more than 35 years of service. He was U.S. Navy veteran and for many years had been active with the Springfield Township Fire Department. He was certified as an Advanced EMT and had served on the Mead Corp. Fire and Rescue Team.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Van Buskirk officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with graveside rites honoring his service as a fire fighter and veteran of military service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home form 5 to 8 pm on Friday (today) with a memorial service by Springfield Twp. at 7:45 pm.

Ruth G. Wilhelm
Ruth G. Wilhelm, 71 of Chillicothe, passed from this life, 7:30 am, Monday, January 14, 2002 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 7, 1930 in Pike County, the daughter of Ralph and Daisy Streitenberger Brown. On August 20, 1948 she married George A. Wilhelm who preceded her in death, May 11, 1987.
Surviving are one daughter Judith Ann Wilhelm, of Chillicothe; 3 sons John A. (Beverly) Wilhelm, Chillicothe; George A. Wilhelm Jr., Chillicothe and Ronald (Judy) Wilhelm of Springboro; 6 grandchildren Jeremy Wilhelm, Lori Wilhelm and her fiancée Tim Anderson, Jr., Douglas Wilhelm, Adam Wilhelm, Renee Wilhelm and Nicole Wilhelm; and two brothers and sisters-in-law Ralph D. and Nancy Brown, Antwerp, OH and Carroll E. and Ruth Brown of Chillicothe, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wilhelm was a nurse for the Chillicothe Hospital retiring in 1988, and a member of the Salem Community Church and the Columbus Assembly #79 of the Social Order of the Beauceant.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am, Friday, January 18, 2002, in the Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Rolsten officiating burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 PM Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Ross County Unit of the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Scott E. Duffy
Scott E. Duffy, 50 of Fayetteville, GA died suddenly Tuesday, May 14, 2002 in Las Vegas, NV while attending a business convention.
He was born August 15, 1951 in Chillicothe, OH, the son of the Late Theodore E. and Janetta Graves Duffy. In 1981 he married the former Liane Newell who survives.
Surviving are his wife, his mother, one daughter, Sarah Duffy, two sons Ted and Kevin Duffy, all living at home, two brothers and sisters-in-law Brian and Fredalene Duffy of Chillicothe, OH and Lee and Valerie Duffy of Youngstown, OH and many relatives, friends and co-workers. His father, Theodore E. Duffy, preceded him in death.
Mr. Duffy attended the Providence United Methodist Church, and he was active in the Fayette County Recreation League Basketball Program as a coach and referee. He was employed as a Senior Account Manager for Roche Diagnostics, Inc.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday May 18, 2002 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass & Palmer Funeral Home, with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from10:00 am until the hour of service, Saturday. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Duffy Children Education Fund c/o Salomon- Smith- Barney, 3333 Peachtree Rd, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30326, Account 410-40311.

Chalmer E. Bateson
Chalmer E. Bateson, 88, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Thursday afternoon, Sept. 5, 2002 in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 5, 1914 in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of Clarence and Goldie Ethel Bateson. In 1934 he married Pauline Garrison who preceded him in death Dec. 3, 1997.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Russ Heraldson and Pamela and William Kaltenbach, a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Anna Bateson, all of Chillicothe, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Charles Beoddy, Piketon and a brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Jan Bateson, Chillicothe. His parents, 5 sisters and 3 brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Bateson was an employee of Wear Ever, retiring in 1975.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Marjorie Ellen Rhinehart
Marjorie Ellen Rhinehart, 84, of Goldsboro, NC, formerly of Chillicothe, passed from this life Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002 in Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro following an extended illness. She was born June 1, 1918 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Henry A. and Grace M. Ryan Koblentz. On Feb. 12, 1947 she married Farrell M. Rhinehart who preceded her in death in 1984.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Bliss T. and James Friberg, Goldsboro, NC, a grandson, F. Doug McMullen, Farmville, NC, a great grandchild, Gracen Dayne McMullen and a host of friends. Her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rhinehart was an employee of Coppel Coal and Supply with 37 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Lawrence Hummer, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday (today), with a Wake Service at 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Charlene E. "Dutch" Scott
Charlene E. "Dutch" Scott, 73, of Londonderry, passed from this life early Sunday morning, Sept. 8, 2002 in the Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was born Mar. 6, 1929 in Ross County, the daughter of Charles E. and Bessie B. Faulds Smart. On July 4, 1952 she married Fred W. Baldwin who preceded her in death Nov. 13, 1967. On July 30, 1971 she married Ray E. Scott who preceded her in death Mar. 30, 1986.
Surviving is a daughter, Sharon S. Baldwin, Londonderry, a sister and brother-in-law, Elva and R.C. Davis, Chillicothe, sisters-in-law, Alberta Smart and Marilyn Wagner, both of Chillicothe and Bernice McWhorter and Isabelle Scott, both of Londonderry, a brother-in-law, John Sheets, Chillicothe, and a host of nieces and nephews including, James Ditto and Beverly, Denver, CO, Raymond "Buzz" and Donna McWhorter and Richard and Mary McWhorter, all of Londonderry. Her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers precede her in death.
Mrs. Scott was a retired employee of the U.S. Shoe Corporation. She was a member of the Liberty Township Fire and Rescue Auxiliary, a volunteer for the RIVLO Neighborhood Watch and a former member of the Allegro Motor Home Club.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. David Titler officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home form 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Twp. Fire and Rescue Association, P.O. Box 253, Londonderry, OH 45647.

Steven M. "Reload" Nusser
Steven M. "Reload" Nusser, 50 of Chillicothe died 8:50 PM, Sunday Evening, March 31, 2002 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born December 2, 1951 in Lancaster, OH, the son of the Late Donald and Leoma Stevenson Nusser.
Surviving are his wife Ruth Ann Nusser, Children, Joshua, Elizabeth, Shane and Shawn; Mother-in-law and father-in-law, James and Patricia Ratliff; one sister Ann Newton, two brothers Richard and Bob Nusser; Brothers-in-law, Harold, Jimmy, and Gary; sisters-in-law, Regina, Sharon Brenda and Teresa; nieces Jackie, Carla, Sarah and Nancy; nephews Robert, Gary, and Joey; step children Lori, Amy, and Steven; step son and daughters-in-law John, Bobby, Erica; step grandchildren Justin, Seth Joey, Ashley, Austin, Mason, Robbie, Kyle, Dakota, and Brooklyn; other family members, Terry, Larry, Evelyn, Kenyia, Ossie, Jackie, Brian, and Mommy Bo. His parents and one brother Ronald Nusser preceded him in death.
Reload was a member of the Outsiders Motorcycle Club, and will be missed by the brothers and sisters of the club.
Calling hours will not be observed. Memorial Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Steven Craig Wollenburg
Steven Craig Wollenburg, 42, of Chillicothe, unexpectedly passed from this life Tuesday evening, Feb. 19, 2002. He was born Nov. 17, 1959 in Chillicothe, the son of James and Juanita Porter Wollenburg.
Surviving is his mother, father, daughters and sons-in-law, Brandy and David Sparks, Chastity and Charles Lynch, grandchildren, David, Calvin, Elijah, C.J. and Chasten, all of Chillicothe, sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl and Steven Colburn, Waverly and Carla and Wilford Listenfelt, Indianapolis, IN.
Mr. Wollenburg was an employee of Flannagan Plumbing.
The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday (today) Private funeral services and burial will be held at the discretion of the family.

Vanis C. Carver
Vanis C. Carver, 84, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Sunday afternoon, Feb. 10, 2002 in the Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 10, 1917 in Lewis County, KY, the son of Charley C. and Grace E. Evans Carver. On Sept. 22, 1959 he married Virginia Kengle who survives.
Also surviving is a brother and sister-in-law, Everett L. and Evelyn Carver, Chillicothe, a sister, Lora M. Spears, Beaver, a sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Lonnie Gilkerson, Columbus, a sister-in-law, Pat Kengle, Newark, a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends, Bernice and Ralph Penniston, Larry and Joy Cox and Susan West and Scott West. His parents, sisters, Opal and Audrey and brothers, Gilbert, Albert, Orville and Harold preceded him in death.
Mr. Carver was an employee of Mead Paper, retiring in 1980 after more than 35 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WW II. A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, he was also a member of the Mead Retiree's Club, the Ross County Senior Citizens, the Antique Car Club of Southern Ohio and the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Deacon George Lovenshimer officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with military rites by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, with a Wake Service at 7:30 pm.

Virginia L. "Lee" Siefert
Virginia L. "Lee" Siefert, 49, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Thursday afternoon, Apr. 25, 2002 in Mt Carmel Medical Center, Columbus following an extended illness. She was born July 26, 1952 in Jackson County, the daughter of Glen and Grace Irvin Poling.
Surviving are a very special friend, Howard Hahn, Richmond Dale, daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and James Montgomery and Jennifer and Paul Viney, all of Chillicothe, a son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Shannon Siefert, Circleville, grandchildren, Kindle, Michelle, Chase, Bryce, Samuel and Brandon, a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Tom Brown, Williamsburg, OH, a sister, Jane Compton, FL, a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Myra Poling, Chillicothe and many nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death.
Lee was a former employee of Velvet Ice Cream. She was a member of American Legion Post 62 and VFW 108.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Elswick officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 am until the hour of service on Monday.
