Willard Owens
Died: Saturday, January 18, 2003
Age: 67
BRISTOL, Ind. - Willard "Bill" Owens, 67, 20036 County Road 6, Bristol, Ind., formerly of Sidney, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, 3:47 p.m. at his residence.
He was born April 2, 1935, in Nevelsville, Ky., the son of Reed and Nannie (Nevels) Owens.
On July 3, 1967, he married
Marie "Sam" Mayberry in Sidney, and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. Don (Tonda) Ragsdale of Constantine, Mich. and LaDeana Owens of Bristol, Ind.; two sons of Bristol, Ind., James "Pete" Owens and Charlie Owens; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Irene New of South Carolina, Ruth McDowell, Mrs. Cecil (Elaine) Walker and Peggy Gabbard all of Kentucky; two brothers, Michael Owens of Dayton and Dean Owens of Burnside, Ky.
He was preceded in death by a grandson and two brothers.
Mr. Owens retired in 2001 from Commodore Homes. He had worked in the mobile home industry in Elkhart County as a service technician for 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served for 10 ? years. He was a member of Bristol American Legion 143. He enjoyed bluegrass music, NASCAR racing, fishing and woodworking.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home in the Bristol Chapel, with Rev. Ron Spyker officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge cemetery. Bristol American Legion 143 will conduct military graveside services.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Bristol, Ind.
Justin Louis Steinke
Died: Saturday, January 11, 2003
BOTKINS - Justin Louis Steinke, son of Marvin and Therese Rash Steinke, was stillborn on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
Survivors include his maternal grandparents, Waldo and Bernadette Rash of Kokomo, Ind. and his paternal grandparents, Alfred and Erma Steinke of Wapakoneta.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Chiodo officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph cemetery in Wapakoneta. There will be no visitation. The Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, are handling the arrangements.
Eileen Bollheimer Thomas
Died: Saturday, January 11, 2003
Age: 81
FORT LORAMIE - Eileen Bollheimer Thomas, 81, a native of Fort Loramie, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, of an apparent heart attack at her home in Long Beach, Calif.
She was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Fort Loramie, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Naber) Bollheimer. She had resided in the Long Beach area for 60 years.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Harold (Martha) Simon of Russia and five brothers, Homer of Lynwood, Ill., Paul of Houston, Texas, Kenneth of Bradford, Richard of Fort Loramie and Donald of Minster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son and two brothers.
Ms. Thomas retired in 1987 from the Boeing Corp. in California, where she had been a manager in the mailing and circulation department. She enjoyed traveling with friends, hand-painting fine china and knitting and crocheting for charities.
Graveside services were held Jan. 17 at Forrest Lawn cemetery in Cypress, Calif., where she was buried next to her son.
A memorial Mass for family and friends is planned Saturday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie.
Arrangements were handled by Forrest lawn cemetery.
Cyril B. Lochtefeld
Died: Wednesday, January 29, 2003
Age: 82
NEW PARIS - Cyril B. Lochtefeld, 82, of New Paris, Ohio died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Oak Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center in Richmond, Ind. following a short illness.
He was born July 31, 1920, in St. Rosa, Mercer County, Ohio, the son of the late August and Flora (Garman) Lochtefeld.
He was married
to Loise E. Evans, who died in 1987.
He is survived by two sons, James M. Snetz of Walbridge and Wayne L. Kingery of West Carrolton; three grandchildren; a sister, Martha Kirk of Florida; two brothers, Leroy Lochtefeld of Sidney and Robert "Butch" Lochtefeld of Celina; special friend Grace Hanes and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Mr. Lochtefeld retired in 1973, after 30 years at Frigidaire in Dayton. He had been a bus driver for National Trail School District. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and won a Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post 245 in New Madison; VFW Post 3288 in Brookville and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Greenville.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in New Paris, with Rev. J. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Burial will be in Springlawn cemetery in New Paris, with full military graveside service by the Darke County Honor Guard.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home in New Paris.

Gracie Mae Parker

Age: 67
CELINA - Gracie Mae Parker, 67, 110 Parkview Drive, Celina, mother of a Sidney woman, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at 6:15 a.m. at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born May 6, 1935, in Fonde, Ky., the daughter of William Riley and Marie (Barley) Henderson, who preceded her in death.
On Jan. 4, 1954, she married
Cleatis Parker, who survives.
She is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. Randy (Deborah) Cottergain of Sidney and Mrs. Rex (Angela) Eberle of Columbus; four sons, Michael Parker, Timothy Parker and Tobias Parker of Celina and Douglas Parker of Dalton, Ga.; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven sisters, Diane Gerber of Sidney, Patsy McJunkin of Botkins and Mrs. Henry (Betty) Rodriguez, Mrs. Dick (Wilma) Abels, Mrs. Bob (Mary) Perry, Mrs. Barry (Trish) Baucher and Mrs. Steve (Shelia) Humbert all of Celina; two brothers, David Henderson of Celina and Steve Henderson of Montezuma.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, two grandchildren and one sister.
Mrs. Parker was a member of Abounding Grace Church in Celina. She was a homemaker.
The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Abounding Grace Church in Celina with Pastors Rick Brosher and Tony Richmond officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in St. Marys.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina and Saturday one hour prior to the 1 p.m. service at the church.

Mary A. Fagin
Died: Tuesday, January 28, 2003
Age: 89
VERSAILLES - Mary A. Fagin, 89, 24 Catalpa Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at 6:03 a.m. at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 21, 1913 in Goshen, the daughter of Zeph and Mary (Stagge) Fagin.
She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles and had served as housekeeper for Rev. Fr. Lawrence Jaekle since 1955.
She is survived by three sisters, Ruth Picklehemier of Loveland, Alice Fagin of Loveland and Sister Mary Ancille Fagin of the Sisters of Notre Dame, St. Joseph Heights, Covington, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Denis Church by Rev. David Vincent. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Cincinnati.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Versailles Life Squad or the Versailles Volunteer Fire Department.
Jeff D. Thomas
Died: Tuesday, January 28, 2003
Age: 73
PIQUA - Jeff D. Thomas, 73, of Dayton, father of Norman and James Thomas, both of Sidney, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003 at 8:55 a.m. in Grafton Oaks Nursing Home, Dayton.
He was born Oct. 24, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas.
He is also survived by three daughters, Susan Idle of Piqua, Yolanda Fullerton of Lima and Theresa Frey of Piqua and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1956.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home in Piqua by Rev. Angelo Caserta.

Herman B. Bornhorst
Died: Monday, January 27, 2003
Herman B. "Barney" Bornhorst, formerly of Fort Loramie, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at 4:20 p.m. (Australia time) in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, following a short illness.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bornhorst, who preceded him in death.
In Australia, in 1945 he married
Patricia Bornhorst. She survives.
Other survivors include five daughters, Margaret Bornhorst, Jane Bornhorst, Mrs. Charles P. (Suzanne) Furness, Mrs. Rod (Pamela) K. Drew and Mrs. Scott (Robyn) Emerson; six grandchildren; two sisters, Monica Bode of Alexandria, Va., and Joan Pfister of Eaton.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Bornhorst was a partner in Bornhorst and Ward Consulting Civil and Structural Engineers. He owned Flint Fruit Market in Englewood and operated Dairy King next to the market. He had worked for W.R. Hackett Wholesale Fruits and Vegetables in Dayton.
In 1940 he graduated from Fort Loramie High School and Miami Jacobs Business College. He received an engineering degree from the University of California, Davis Branch, in 1959.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Kenmore, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The Deception Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond B. Fullenkamp
Died: Monday, January 27, 2003
Age: 88
ST. HENRY - Raymond B. Fullenkamp, 88, of The Gardens of St. Henry, formerly of Cranberry Prairie, Ohio, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at 2:40 a.m. in his residence.
Born April 14, 1914, in Maria Stein, Ohio, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude Streacker Fullenkamp.
On June 6, 1936, he married
the former Emma Rita Richard. She died on Nov. 30, 1998.
Survivors include one daughter, one brother, Louis Fullenkamp of St. Henry; three sisters, Rose Alma Lammer of Minster, Mrs. Ed (Mary Agnes) of Centerville, Mrs. Jerry (Mildred) Vanderhorst of Fort Meyer, Fla., and four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Two sons, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Mr. Fullenkamp was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Cranberry Prairie.
He was associated with Fullenkamp Distributing Company in St. Henry for 30 years.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry on Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday.
Barry V. Ginn
Died: Monday, January 27, 2003
Age: 50
Barry V. Ginn, 50, 6029 Hardin-Wapak Road, Sidney, died early Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2003 at his residence several weeks after being released from the hospital.
An autopsy was conducted by the coroner's office to determine the cause of death.
He was born June 25, 1952 in Sidney, the son of Paul E. and Lois V. (Hetzler) Ginn.
He is survived by his parents of Sidney; one son, Robert Ginn of Norwalk, Iowa; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Larry Ginn of Greenville and Gary Ginn of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
Mr. Ginn attended Houston High School and served with the U.S. Marine Corps stationed in the Philippines. He had most recently been employed as a cook in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was a member of Sidney First United Methodist Church.
Services will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Cromes Funeral Home in Sidney by Rev. Joe F. Pumphrey. Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington.
Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
