Henry Paris Keith

Henry Paris Keith, 63, 5775 Knoop-Johnston Road, Sidney, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003 at 2:45 p.m. at his residence following a seven-month illness.
He was born March 7, 1939 in McCreary County, Ky., the son of Rexie and Magolda (Maxwell) Keith.
He married
Joy Bennett June 9, 1962 and she survives, along with two sons, David Keith of Troy and Gregory Keith of Sidney; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Susan) Egbert of Anna and Mrs. Rex (Stephanie) Staley of Bellefontaine; 16 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers, Lester Harley Keith and Cecil Keith, both of Sidney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Mr. Keith had been employed as a mechanic at Kirk National Lease in Sidney. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church by Rev. George Gnade. Burial will be in Shelby Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, Sidney.

Forest F. Opperman
Died: Monday, January 20, 2003
Age: 85
WAPAKONETA - Forest F. Opperman, 85, of Wentz Street, a native of Shelby County, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 22, 1917 in Shelby County, the son of William and Mary (Shafer) Opperman.
He married
Pauline A. McCullough, Dec. 5, 1939 and she survives him with two sons, Gary and David Opperman, both of Wapakoneta; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A sister, Pearl Kane of Mesa, Ariz., also survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and seven brothers and sisters.
A farmer, Mr. Opperman had worked as a salesman with several businesses. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Wapakoneta. He played the guitar and banjo and had won several contests, also playing in Renfro Valley, Ky.
Services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta by Rev. Gregory Roberts. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Wapakoneta.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Methodist Church.
Thomas J. Boroff
Died: Sunday, January 12, 2003
Age: 56
MINSTER - Thomas J. Boroff, 56, of 24 N. Hamilton St., died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at 2:39 p.m. in Wilson Memorial Hospital.
Born July 3, 1946, in Columbus, he is the son of Louis Boroff.
He is survived by many friends and the staffs at both the Heritage Manor Residential Center and Auglaize Industries.
Mr. Boroff had resided at the Heritage Manor Residential Center since September of 1982. He was employed by the Auglaize Industries in New Bremen from 1989 until his death.
He had participated in various community events including the Special Olympics.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 State Route 703 West, St. Marys. The Rev. David Woodyard will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
Andrew Bruce Herider
Died: Sunday, January 12, 2003
CONOVER - Andrew Bruce Herider, 35, 11312 Carysville Road, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at 3:25 a.m. in University Hospital, Cleveland, after an extended illness.
Born Jan. 4, 1968, in Dayton, he was the son of Bruce and Sandy Burnham Herider.
Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Charles (Jan) Tucker of Sidney.
In 1986 he graduated from Graham High School and attended Wright State University for three years where he majored in engineering.
Mr. Herider was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.
He had been employed at Peerless, Sidney, as a designer for 12 years.
He was a member of the local national airplane clubs including ones in Quincy and Springfield.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Earl Fernandes celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery in Carysville. Friends may call at the Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Contributions may be made to the Columbus Children's Cystic Fibrosis Center, attention Karen McCoy, 700 Children's Drive, Columbus, Ohio 45205, in memory of Andy Herider.
Dennis Russell Hughes Sr.
Died: Sunday, January 12, 2003
Age: 49
Dennis Russell Hughes Sr., 49, 834 Michigan St., died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at 3:30 p.m. at Vandalia Park Nursing Home of natural causes.
He was born Oct. 29, 1953, in Sidney, the son of Harold and Margaret (Didier) Hughes.
He is survived by a daughter, Jaime Hughes, and a son, Dennis R. Hughes Jr., both of Sidney; a brother, Eddie Dean Hughes of Georgia; two half sisters, Mrs. Jeff (Dixie) Cisco and Mrs. Tom (Nancy) Burns, both of Sidney; and three half brothers, Harold Hughes of Piqua and Joe Didier and Terry Didier, both of Sidney.
A sister and a half brother are deceased.
Mr. Hughes was an employee of Ross Aluminum. He was a lifelong resident of Sidney.
Graveside services are set for Friday at 11 a.m. at Glen cemetery, Port Jefferson, with the Rev. Clifford Garber officiating.
No calling hours are planned.
Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Lee A. Kaufman
Died: Sunday, January 12, 2003
Age: 73
Lee A. Kaufman, 73, 707 E. Parkwood St., died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003 at 1:56 p.m. at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 10, 1929 in Piqua to Morris and Rose (Blickstein) Kaufman.
On June 12, 1955, he married
Lora Kramer in Cincinnati.
Mr. Kaufman is survived by his wife; a son, Mark Kaufman of Sidney; two daughters, Mrs. Randy (Lynn) Mielnik of Perrysburg and Mrs. David (Michele) Roberts of Loveland; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Mr. Kaufman was a coordinator of adult education for Upper Valley Joint Vocational School in Piqua. He obtained a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1951.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Sidney Masonic Lodge and the Sidney Moose Lodge.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Temple Anshe Emeth in Piqua, with Rabbi Vicki Tuckman officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery in Piqua.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 12:15-1:15 p.m. at the temple.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Temple Anshe Emeth Building Fund, in care Edward D. Jones Co., P.O. Box 267, Greenville, 45331, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Noma Mae Golliday
Died: Saturday, January 11, 2003
Age: 88
LAKEVIEW - Noma Mae Golliday, 88, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at 11 p.m. in Heartland of Indian Lake Rehab Center.
Born Aug. 4, 1914, in Auglaize County she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Morris Barnes.
On Jan. 5, 1935, she married
Francis E. Golliday. He predeceased her on Oct. 14, 1985.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Joanna) Harford of Lakeview and Mrs. Hugh (Mary) Sosby of Jackson Center; two sons, Dwaine Golliday and Edward A. Golliday, both of Lewistown; two sisters, Violet Goodman of Cleveland and Carol Campbell of Alger, Ohio; one brother, Wayne Barnes of Kenton, 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandsons.
One daughter, two sons, one granddaughter, one sister and three brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Golliday was a member of the St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point and a member of the Altar Sodality of the church.
She was a homemaker.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with the Rev. Harold W. Kist officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Hill cemetery in New Hampshire. Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Van Horn Funeral Home in Lakeview. Prayers will be said in the funeral home at 1:45 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland of Indian Lake Activity Fund or to St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
Richard E. Hall
Died: Saturday, January 11, 2003
Age: 88
JACKSON CENTER - Richard E. Hall, 88, Jackson Center, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at 5:36 a.m. at his residence.
He was born July 10, 1914, in Champaign County, the son of Leonard H. and Naomi (Putnam) Hall.
On June 1, 1935, he married
Virginia M. Wilgus, who died in 2001.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Cynthia) Zwiebel of Jackson Center; two grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a son, a great-grandson, two sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Hall owned and operated Rich's Place in Jackson Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Jackson Center United Methodist Church. He was a member of Scherer Post 493 American Legion, VFW Post 3316 and the Disabled American Veterans.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m., at Jackson Center United Methodist Church, with Pastor Maggee Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Union cemetery in DeGraff.
Calling hours will be Tuesday at Van Horn Funeral Home in Jackson Center from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 10-11 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jackson Center Rescue or Jackson Center Education Foundation.
R.C. Hemm Sr.
Died: Saturday, January 11, 2003
Age: 80
PIQUA - R. C. "Chuck" Hemm Sr., 80, of Piqua, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003 at 12:54 p.m. at Upper Valley Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, a son, a daughter, three brothers, a sister, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
In 1948, Mr. Hemm founded R. C. Hemm Glass Shop in Piqua. The family business now has additional stores in Sidney and Troy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Piqua, with the Rev. Thomas J. Grilliot officiating. Entombment will be at Forest Hill cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours will be today from 5-8 p.m. at Jamieson and Yannucci Funeral Home in Piqua, where a prayer service will be conducted at 5 p.m.
