Russell Max Kuhn
Died: Friday, February 7, 2003
Age: 77
BELLEFONTAINE - Russell Max Kuhn, 77, County Road 31, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Heartland of Bellefontaine. He had been in failing health.
He was born July 19, 1925, in Warren, the son of the late Cletus R. and Flossie Grace (Smith) Kuhn.
On Feb. 23, 1949, he married
Catherine Strayer in DeGraff, and she survives.
He is also survived by three sons, Dale W. Kuhn of Bellefontaine, Ronald M. Kuhn and Glenn P. Kuhn Sr., both of DeGraff; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Odessa Brenner of Columbus; three brothers, Frank C. Kuhn of Willowdell, George H. Kuhn and Paul V. Kuhn, both of Bellefontaine.
He was preceded in death by a grandson and a sister.
Mr. Kuhn was a retired forge operator at Westinghouse in Bellefontaine. He also had been a farm equipment mechanic at Tanger's-Yoder's and Champaign County Farm Bureau. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, having served in the European Theater with the 278th Combat Engineers. He was a 1943 graduate of Monroe High School, member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 31 in Champaign County and 50-year member of the Miami Grange 2158 in DeGraff. He enjoyed antique tractors, Army reunions and spending time with grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, with the Rev. N. Matthew Wright officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood-Union cemetery in DeGraff. The Logan County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military honors at graveside.
Calling hours will be today from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marion Earl Supinger
Died: Friday, February 7, 2003
Age: 75
COVINGTON - Marion Earl Supinger, 75, of Covington, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.
He was born May 23, 1927, in Piqua, the son of Harrison Alexander and Eva Minnie (Feidt) Supinger.
He is survived by five brothers, including Jack Supinger of Houston and Tom Supinger of Sidney; three sisters, including Mary Lou Applegate of Sidney, a daughter and two grandchildren.
Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Mr. Supinger worked for 35 years at Decker Meats in Piqua and operated a Volkswagen repair business in Houston for several years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948 and received the World War II Victory Medal, Army Occupation Medal Japan and Army lapel button. He was a member of the Covington Veterans of Foreign Wars post and Covington Eagles lodge. He was a CB radio buff, going by the handle (name) "Greene 4 Wheeler." He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and puzzles as well as watching animal programs and old Western movies on television.
Services are planned for Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Bridges-Stoker-Fraley Funeral Home in Covington. Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, at a later date.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Willie Teague Sr.
Died: Friday, February 7, 2003
Age: 85
Willie Teague Sr., 85, 316 S. Wilkinson Ave., died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at 5:20 a.m. at Sidney Care Center.
He was born Dec. 23, 1917, in Purden, Tenn., the son of Judson F. Teague and Isabelle (King) Teague.
On March 20, 1948, he married
Carrie A. (Milton) Teague, who survives.
Other survivors are four sons, Willie Teague Jr. and Eddie Lee Teague, both of Sidney, James Teague of St. Marys and Dennis Ray Teague of Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Phyllis) Higgins of Troy; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-granddaughters; one stepgreat-granddaughter; three sisters, Beatrice Lambdin and Jewell Davis, both of Indianapolis, and Rosie Lamb of Williamsburg, Ky.; and three brothers, Everett Teague of Hamilton, Judson Teague of Indianapolis, and Carl Teague of Nobelsville, Ind.
Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Teague worked for Copeland Corp. for more than 30 years, retiring in 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He attended Calvary Baptist Church.
Services are set for Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, with the Rev. Leamon Branscum officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Shelby Memory Gardens, Hardin.
Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Freda M. Brown
Died: Thursday, February 6, 2003
Age: 64
PIQUA - Freda M. Brown, 64, of 1103 Concord Ave., died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at 6:30 a.m. in her residence.
Born March 15, 1938, in Piqua, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Velma McDorman Shaffer.
In Piqua on Oct. 5, 1957, she married
Dota "Pete" C. Brown. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Victoria Reyes of Piqua and Mrs. Jeff (Sandra) Heckler of Sidney; two sons, Ronald Brown of Trussville, Ala., and James Brown of Troy; one brother, William Shaffer of Piqua; two sisters, Mrs. Bob (Patricia) Campbell of Piqua and Mrs. Gary (Linda) Stambaugh of Sidney, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In 1956 she graduated from Piqua Central High School.
Mrs. Brown was an active member of the Piqua Baptist Church and the former Order of Eastern Star Chapter 320 where she served as Past Worthy Matron.
In addition to being a homemaker she had worked at Gerlach's Bakery, Ohio Bell Telephone Company, BVD Underwear Company and Sears Roebuck and Company.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Piqua Baptist Church with Pastor Donald R. Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home where an Order of the Eastern Star service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m.

Stella Klikovits
Died: Thursday, February 6, 2003
Age: 79
Stella Klikovits, 79, 837 Taft St., died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at 9:15 p.m. at her residence.
She was born March 13, 1923, in Cranberry Prairie, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Philomena (Huwer) Quinter.
On Aug. 31, 1946, she married
Donald B. Klikovits, who survives.
Other survivors include seven daughters, Becky Worthington and Mrs. John (Joann) Beemer, both of Anna, Mrs. Mark (Elaine) Spicknall of Canal Winchester, Mrs. Douglas (Linda) Hoefling of Piqua, Mrs. Ronald (Elizabeth) Baginski of Cleveland, and Mrs. Douglas (Kathy) CaJacob and Mrs. James (Carol) Gaier, both of Sidney; a son, Donald A. Klikovits of Sidney; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Rudolph Quinter of Minster; Albert Quinter of Troy, Anthony Quinter of Sidney and Maurice Quinter of Fort Loramie; and six sisters, Dorothy Dresher and Adeline Huelsman, both of Celina, Mrs. Cletus (Loretta) Huelsman of Dayton, Leona Pleiman of Fort Loramie, Mrs. Tom (Edna) Lampert of New Bremen, and Pauline Kohler of Botkins.
Two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Mrs. Klikovits was a homemaker. She attended Holy Angels Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Gerald Bensman officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.

Sharon Kay Mescher

Age: 58
YORKSHIRE - Sharon Kay (Sherry) Mescher, 58, 8335 State Route 705 died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at 8:04 a.m. in Lima Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 13, 1945, in Celina, she was the daughter of the late Louis "Jiggs" and Mary "Mick" Davis Alexander.
In Osgood, on June 14, 1969, she married
Vernon B. Mescher. He survives.
Survivors include her stepmother, Lucille Bruns Alexander; two sisters, Mrs. Gene (Jeannie Bruns) of Maria Stein and Joyce "Joy" Mason of Centerville; two brothers, John "Jack" Alexander of Cassella and Kenneth Alexander of Fort Loramie; step siblings, Edgar Bruns of Russia, Mrs. Jim (Marilyn) Cullen of Tipp City and Tony Bruns of Versailles.
One brother and one stepsister preceded her in death.
Mrs. Mescher was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Osgood and the St. Barbara Ladies Sodality of the Church. She was a member of the Goat Farmers Auxiliary.
In 1963 she graduated from Marion Local School and in 1967 she graduated from the University of Dayton.
She was retired from her employment as a secretary for Minster Farmers Co-0p Ex. in Osgood, formerly Alexander Brothers, Electric.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church with the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the N. J. Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.

Irene H. Sellers
Died: Thursday, February 6, 2003
Age: 79
Irene H. Sellers, 79, a resident of Dorothy Love Retirement Community, 3003 Cisco Road, died there Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at 9:05 a.m.
She was born May 16, 1923, in Sidney, the daughter of Martin and Mabel (Unum) Hall.
On July 28, 1946, she married
Darrell Sellers, who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters, Kathy Sellers of Columbus and Gayle Oberlitner of Centerburg; a son, Bruce Sellers of Golden, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
A brother is deceased.
Mrs. Sellers was a retired secretary. She attended First Presbyterian Church in Sidney.
Services are planned for Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Amos Chapel of Dorothy Love, with Dr. Fred B. Lacuesta officiating.
Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. No calling hours are planned.
Memorials may be made to the Dorothy Love Life Care Fund or Employee Christmas Fund.
Pablo B. Marruffo
Died: Saturday, November 30, 2002
Age: 66
Pablo B. Marruffo, 66, 214 N. Walnut Ave., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at 7:45 a.m. in Upper Valley Medical Center.
Born May 18, 1936, in San Luis Del Cordero, Durango, Mexico, he was the son of the late Andres Marruffo and Carmen Borrego Marruffo.
On April 28, 1969, he married
Maria Zamora Marruffo. She survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Juan P. Marruffo, Cesar L. Marruffo, Jose L. Marruffo, all of Sidney, Juan M. Marruffo of Chilicothe; one daughter, Niza E. Marruffo of Sidney; two brothers, Julio Marruffo of LaMesa, Texas and Agapito Marruffo of San Anton, Texas, and three sisters, Seberino Murruffo of Calif., Maria Vela of Sidney and Maria Marruffo of Monterrey, Mexico.
One brother preceded him in death.
Mr. Marruffo was a member of the Catholic Faith.
He was a packing clerk at Freshway Food.
Services will be Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Brownsville, Texas. There will be a private family viewing at the Cromes Funeral Home on Tuesday. Irene A. Ruschau

VERSAILLES - Irene A. Ruschau, 85, 312 Park Blvd., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at 2:10 a.m. at Wayne Hospital in Greenville.
She was born Nov. 6, 1917, in Cassella, the daughter of Edward and Rosalia (Bertke) Heitkamp.
On Oct. 28, 1939, she married
Marinus W. Ruschau, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Robert Ruschau of Versailles and Allen Ruschau of Tipp City; three daughters, Mrs. Joe (Carolyn) Steiger of Zanesville, Donna Phillips of Rochester, N.Y., and Mrs. Richard (Cindy) Sowell of Lambertville, Mich.; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Heitkamp of Maria Stein and Dennis Heitkamp of New Bremen; and four sisters, Alvira Schoenlein of St. Marys, Velma Burns of Maria Stein, Junita Steinbrunner of Fort Recovery and Alberta Hackemoeller of Minster.
Two brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ruschau was a homemaker. She attended St. Denis Catholic Church and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella at the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church in Versailles Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. David Vincent officiating. Burial will be in St. Valbert cemetery, Versailles.
Friends may call at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. The Daughters of Isabella will conduct a prayer service there Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
