Harold E. Gardner
Died: Tuesday, June 17, 2003
Age: 88

TROY - Harold E. Gardner, 88, formerly of Dayton, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Harborside Healthcare in Troy.

Mr. Gardner was born March 10, 1915 in Dayton to the late Ross and Carrie (Brelsford) Gardner. He was married to Silverbud (Hedgers) Gardner and she preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 1984.

Mr. Gardner is survived by a daughter, Tammy Pigg, of Tipp City; four step-daughters, Helen and Joe Barnett, Mammie Borchers of Fairborn, Irene Price and Shirley; four step-sons, Vernon Sells Sr. of Tipp City, Johnnie Sells, Jimmie Sells and Billie Sells of Tipp City; a daughter-in-law, Glenna Sells of Dayton; and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Vernon Ray Sells, Jr.

Mr. Gardner was an Army veteran, serving in World War II, and retired from Lauter Corp. in Dayton where he worked as a janitor.

Services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 20 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home in Troy. Burial will be at Willow View cemetery in Dayton.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 20 at the funeral home.

Mary A. Guisinger
Died: Tuesday, June 17, 2003
Age: 87

Mary A. (Casey) Guisinger, 87, of Kettering, formerly of Piqua, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Heartland of Kettering Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 16, 1915, in Piqua to the late William and Catherine (Wehner) Casey. She married Melvin Guisinger in 1935 at St. Mary Church in Piqua; he preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1972.

Mrs. Guisinger is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Frank Ziegler of Piqua and Mary and Gene Sargent of Beavercreek; two sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin and Wilda Guisinger of Kalida, and James and Pat Guisinger of DeMotte, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. Irene Gardner of Maumee; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. One son, Robert, and one brother and two sisters preceded Mary in death.

Mary graduated from Piqua Catholic High School in 1934. She was a member of St. Mary Church and a member of the Altar Society. She was Ward Secretary at Piqua Memorial Hospital for 30 years retiring in 1978.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 20 at St. Mary Church in Piqua with the Rev. Thomas Grilliot officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service at 5 p.m.

Richard Robert Millhouse
Died: Monday, June 16, 2003
Age: 59

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Richard "Dick" Robert Millhouse, 59, died Monday, June 16, 2003, in Clearwater.

Born in Sidney, he moved to Clearwater in 1999.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Diane Sheldon Millhouse; one son, Tony Millhouse of Naperiville, Ill.; one daughter, Lori Counts of Clearwater; his mother, Dorothea Millhouse of Clearwater; one brother, Carl "Pete" Millhouse Jr. of Sidney; one sister, Joanne Waters of Sidney, and three grandchildren.

His father, Carl Millhouse Sr, preceded him in death.

Mr. Millhouse donated his body to the University of Florida and his eyes to Lion Eye Bank.

Memorial contributions may be made to Diane S. Millhouse, 2165 Gulf to Bay Boulevard #303, Clearwater, Fla., 33765.

Ada M. Reiff
Died: Monday, June 16, 2003
Age: 76

MARYSVILLE - Ada M. Reiff, 76, of Marysville, died peacefully after an extended illness Monday afternoon, June 16, 2003, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by four daughters and a son. A daughter, the Rev. Kathy E. Reiff, was formerly a minister in the Sidney area.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at North Lewisburg United Methodist Church, North Lewisburg. Burial will follow at Oakdale cemetery, Marysville.

Calling hours will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grant/Riverside Hospice or North Lewisburg United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.

Robert R. Millhouse
Died: Monday, June 16, 2003
Age: 59

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Robert R. Millhouse, 59, died Monday, June 16, 2003, in Clearwater.

He was born in Sidney. He moved to the Clearwater area from Ohio in 1999.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Diane Sheldon Millhouse; a son, Tony Millhouse of Naperville, Fla.; a daughter, Lori Counts of Clearwater; his mother, Dorothea Millhouse of Clearwater; and a sister, Joanne Waters of Sidney.

Blanche W. Crockett, 74, of Riverside, died Monday. Services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, Needmore Road, Dayton.

Harold Ray Burt Sr.
Died: Monday, June 16, 2003
Age: 75

QUINCY - Harold Ray Burt Sr., 75, of Quincy died Monday, June 16, 2003, at 5:15 p.m. at Heartland of Bellefountaine.

He was born May 1, 1928, in Leflore, Miss., the son of the late Roy and Freddie (Mims) Burt.

He married Anita Maria Dora Hess in Troy, Dec. 22, 1956, and she preceded him in death Nov. 19, 2002.

He is survived by two sons, Frank Burt and wife, Vanessa, of Lakeview; and Roger Burt of Sidney; two daughters, Bernice and Trent Miller of Lakeview and Tammy and Ralph Bortree of Bellefontaine; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Troy and Evelyn Burt of West Liberty and two sisters, Bernice Hopson of Yazoo, Miss. and Estelle Smith of Chatham, Miss.

He is also survived by two step-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Ginny Burt of DeGraff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, Harold Burt Jr. and Henry Burt; one brother, Stanley Ray Burt; and a daughter-in-law Rose Burt.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Copeland Corporation in Sidney where he was a machinist.

Services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home in DeGraff by the Rev. LeRoy Hughes. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Quincy.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Shirley A. Worthington
Died: Wednesday, August 20, 2003
Age: 72

CONOVER - Shirley A. Worthington, 72, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at 10:55 a.m. in Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.

Funeral services will be on Monday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Leland Brehm of the Fletcher United Methodist Church presiding.

Burial will be in Fletcher cemetery.

Diana Morris
Died: Tuesday, August 19, 2003
Age: 61

WHEATFIELD - Diana Lynn Emert Morris, 61, passed away Aug. 19, 2003, in her home.

Services were today at 10 a.m. in the Pentecostal Church of God. Pastor Eveston Risner officiated. Interment followed in the DeMotte cemetery. The Lang Funeral Service-KV Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Helen L. Eberwein

Age: 85

TROY - Helen L. Eberwein, 85, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Koester Pavilion, Troy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with the Rev. Carol Bastin officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Troy.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ruth M. Pauli
Died: Tuesday, August 19, 2003
Age: 81

PIQUA - Ruth M. Pauli, 81, of 1207 Leonard St., died on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at 8:15 a.m. in Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at 1 p.m. in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with the Rev. James Hoffbauer officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 12 noon until 1 p.m.
