MILLER
Margaret M. Miller, 79, of Van Wert (formerly 920 Prospect Ave.), died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2002, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born September 25, 1923, in Darke County, the daughter of the late E. William and Grace (Magoto) Stutz. On May 14, 1940, in Kentucky, she married Earl W. "Bud" Miller, who died September 15, 1976.
Mrs. Miller was retired after many years of service at Kennedy Manufacturing Co. in Van Wert. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 Auxiliary and Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert.
Survivors include six sons, Billy (Karen) Miller of Cape Coral, Fla., Jimmy (Cindy) Miller and Gary (Deb) Miller, both of Van Wert, Ronald Miller of Fort Wayne, Ind., Michael (Mary) Miller of Valley Center, Kan., and Marvin Miller of Sandusky; two daughters, Patricia (Gary) Mason of Oakwood and Marcia (Brian) Pancake of Van Wert; four brothers, John (Helen) Stutz of Venedocia, Bob (Marge) Stutz of Ohio City and Billy (Barb) Stutz and Danny (Carol) Stutz, both of Van Wert; five sisters, Gertrude Topp and Ann (Lester) Topp, both of New Bremen, Edna Mae "Daisy" Creel of Anderson, Ala., and Pearl (Bud) Mason and Judy Lewis, both of Van Wert; 23 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a VFW Auxiliary memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.

BAILEY
Janet E. Bailey, 67, of rural Middle Point, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2002, at Edgewood Manor in Westerville.
She was born February 19, 1935, in Ohio City, the daughter of the late Wayne H. and Kathryn Phyllis (Shindeldecker) Putman. She married Ralph L. Bailey, who survives in Van Wert.
Mrs. Bailey retired from the R.G. Dunn Cigar Factory in Lima. She was a member of the Delphos Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra (Kevin) Potts of Sunbury; three stepdaughters, Janet Oman of Mt. Home, Utah, Barbara Benroth of Geneva, Ala., and Gail Adams of Toledo; one brother, Larry R. Putman of Sebring, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Barry Lynn Osting, who died December 9, 1984, and one brother, Jerry C. Putman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Mike Havey officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

GOODWIN
Linnie Lucile Goodwin, 86, formerly of 203 South St., Willshire, died at 7:05 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2002, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born April 20, 1916, near Spencerville, the daughter of the late Glenn G. and Minnie (Barber) Coffman. On September 18, 1937, she married Glenn G. Goodwin, who died February 13, 1988.
Mrs. Goodwin was a homemaker and had worked at Decatur Industries in Decatur, Ind. She was a member of Willshire United Brethren Church and was an avid quilter and gardener. She was also a member of numerous historical societies.
Survivors include two sons, the Rev. John C. (Barbara) Goodwin of Van Wert and Gary G. Goodwin of Tokyo, Japan; four daughters, Phyllis (Ronald) Brockmyer of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mary Haddad of Adrian, Mich., Janet (Fred) James of Springfield and Martha (Palmer) Inniger of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers, Harold "Bud" (Margie) Coffman of Spencerville and Homer (Eva) Coffman of Edgerton; four sisters, Marie Savidge of Celina, Mary Jane (Carol) Putman of New Haven, Ind., Marilyn (Alfred) Emans of Mendon and Martha (Max) Wood of Spencerville; 15 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; one foster grandchild, and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepmother, Gladys Coffman; two brothers, and a sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. John O. Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Navigators, Living Rock Family Outreach or Willshire Park Fund.

TULLIS
Martha A. "Marty" Tullis, 73, of Rockford, died at 1:16 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2002, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born March 14, 1929, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Harry Waldron and Icy (Heath) Waldron Bates. She married Joseph Tullis, who survives.
Mrs. Tullis had been a cook in several area restaurants during her working years. She enjoyed bowling and had been active in several women's bowling leagues over the years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Michael) Shrider of Rockford; one son, John Tullis of Rockford; a brother, Bill Waldron of New York City; one sister, Madge Eichhorn of Decatur, Ind.; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Tullis, and one brother, Harry Waldron.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brickner Funeral Home, the Rev. Michael Berne officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours will be 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or Colonial Nursing Home in Rockford.

KADUK
Lewis W. Kaduk, 84, of 123 Brooks Ave., died at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born August 22, 1918, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Hertz) Kaduk. On October 27, 1969, in Las Vegas, Nev., he married Dorothy M. Sherburn, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Kaduk owned the local Mobil distributorship from 1946-1963 and also owned the Wonder Bar from 1963-1981. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 1st Battalion, 32nd Armored Regiment in the European Theatre. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 in Van Wert and the Van Wert Police Reserve.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael L. (Heidi) Kaduk of Syracuse, Ind.; a stepson, Milo (Jo) Schaffner of Van Wert; two stepdaughters, Sandra (Cal) Hasty of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Carolyn Blue of St. Cloud, Fla.; two brothers, Frank Kaduk of Van Wert and John (Dorothy) Kaduk of Hicksville; one sister, Anna Diennes of Van Wert; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Andy Kaduk, and two sisters, Betty German and Sue Hartman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert.

BASSETT
Lois I. Bassett, 82, of Venedocia, died at 2:12 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home following a brief illness.
She was born September 20, 1920, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Joseph Wesley and Golda Mary (Harp) Price. On June 2, 1949, she married Thomas H. Bassett, who survives at home.
Mrs. Bassett was a 1938 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School and the Carr School of Business. She was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia and its women's groups. She also belonged to Isaac Van Wart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a charter member of the Van Wert County Genealogical Society.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Thomas J. (Connie) Bassett of Van Wert; one daughter, Linda B. (Denny) Schumm of Van Wert; two brothers, David (Maxine) Price of Ohio City and John (Evelyn) Price of Mendon; three grandsons, Lucas Bassett Schumm, Brian Thomas Bassett and Nathan Michael Bassett, all of Van Wert, and one granddaughter, Bryn Catherine Schumm of Van Wert.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Catharine Elizabeth Price.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Wendy S. Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Presbyterian Church in Venedocia.

MACK
Viola M. Mack, 77, of Lima, died at 2:19 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at Lima Manor nursing home.
She was born June 12, 1925, the daughter of the late Howell and Florence (Patton) Jones. On August 22, 1948, she married William Mack, who survives in Lima.
Mrs. Mack was a registered nurse at Lima Memorial Hospital for 24 years and then a nurse at Gomer Elementary School for 20 years. She was a graduate of Gomer High School in 1943 and Lima Memorial School of Nursing in 1946. She was a member of the Elida Veterans of Foreign Wars post, serving as secretary. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was an Elida bank camp nurse for many years and truly loved and enjoyed her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Franklin H. (Stacy) Mack, Patrick Mack and James S. (Deb) Mack, all of Lima; one sister, Virginia Bok of Cairo; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Owen and Clark Jones.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, with Pastor Doug Adams officiating. Burial will be in Gomer Cemetery.
Calling hours are 6-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
