CALVELAGE
Marguerite (Rinklin) Calvelage, 85, of Delphos, died at 5:05 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born February 17, 1917, in the Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of the late John and Caroline (LeBrun) Rinklin. On January 27, 1943, she married Hubert B. Calvelage, who survives in Delphos.
Mrs. Calvelage was a secretary for Prudential Life Insurance and a homemaker. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Florida. She enjoyed playing golf, knitting crossword puzzles and playing bridge.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, James (Phyllis "Phud") Calvelage of Delphos; three daughters, Barbara (Bob) Foust of Findlay, Michele (David) Wittler of Delphos and Julie (Glenn) Bertling of Lima; one brother, John (Mary) Rinklin of Babylon, N.Y.; a son-in-law, Bruce Maag; 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Maag.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholics Church in Delphos, with Father Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Calling hours are 3-9 p.m. Thursday at Harter & Son Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

PFEIFFER
Treva A. Pfeiffer, 90, of Payne, died at 5:22 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2002, at Dallas Lamb Foundation Home in Payne.
She was born October 9, 1912, in Payne, the daughter of the late Warren and Effie (Sorgen) Allison. On January 1, 1941, she married John Pfeiffer, who survives.
Mrs. Pfeiffer was a retired cook at Dallas Lamb Foundation Home in Payne. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Payne.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Kent Pfeiffer of Antwerp; a daughter, Dawn Cluts of Montgomery, Ala.; seven grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Payne, the Rev. Amy Haines officiating. Burial will be in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville, Ind.
Calling hours are after 4 p.m. Sunday at Slade Funeral Home in Payne.

FRY
Annette J. Fry, 77, of 733 Perry St., died at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2002, at her residence.
She was born February 24, 1925, in Canton, the daughter of the Elmer and Esther (Heath) Guinn. On September 30, 1942, she married Basil Eugene Fry, who died September 8, 1986.
Mrs. Fry retired from Borden's Cheese in Van Wert after 30 years of service. She was a member of Ohio City United Methodist Church and a member and past worthy matron of the former Hyler Chapter 432, Order of Eastern Star (now Van Wert chapter). She was a member of the Van Wert County Hospital Twigs and belonged to American Legion Post 178 Auxiliary in Van Wert.
Survivors include a daughter, Deanna (Joe) Speelman of rural Ohio City; three brothers, Richard (Jeanie) Guinn of Michigan and Donald (Judy) Guinn and Paul (Vicki) Guinn, both of Florida; two sisters, Virginia (Don) Bohnke of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Janet (Jimmy) Jackson of Toledo; two grandchildren, Kandy (Hugh) Saunier and Angel Williams, both of Van Wert, and four great-grandchildren, Phillip Saunier, Matthew Saunier, Erika Williams, Tyler McNall and Brandon McNall, all of Van Wert.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marth Lou Guinn, who died in infancy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are 2-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7 that evening.

HARTING
Ralph E. Harting, 76, of rural Convoy, died at 3:40 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2002, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
He was born September 28, 1926, in Van Wert County, the son of the late William E. and M. May (Klinger) Harting. He never married.
Mr. Harting was a lifetime farmer in Tully Township and had served in the U.S. Army in occupied Japan.
Survivors include four brothers, Lawrence (Charlotte) Harting and Gene (Marsha) Harting, both of Van Wert, and Gerald Harting and Roger (Mary) Harting, both of Convoy; a sister, Grace Burley of Convoy, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Delmer Harting, and one sister, Olive Harting, who died at birth.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy, the Rev. Greg Leigh officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

UNCAPHER
Edward C. Uncapher, 75, of 8115 Liberty-Union Road, died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2002, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born September 25, 1927, in Van Wert, the son of the late Curtis and Margaret E. (Wenzel) Uncapher. On February 24, 1952, he married Wanda C. Johns, who survives.
Mr. Uncapher retired in 1984 from Federal-Mogul Corp. in Van Wert after 32 years of service. He was a 1946 graduate of Van Wert High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 27th Wolfhounds Regiment of the 25th Division in Korea.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Betty J. Uncapher; three nephews, Michael Uncapher and James Uncapher, both of Van Wert, and David Uncapher of Lima, and one niece, Cathy Sowers of Van Wert.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Eugene Uncapher, and a sister, Louise Uncapher, in infancy.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodland Cemetery, with Pastor Clark W. Williman officiating.
Calling hours are 3-7 p.m. Friday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert.

STRATTON
James W. Stratton, 75, of Delphos, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, October 21, 2002, at Cridersville Health Care Center.
He was born October 3, 1927, in Lima, the son of the late Otto R. and Mary (Joseph) Stratton.
Mr. Stratton was a truck driver for Kissel Coal Company. He graduated from Lima Central High School in 1945 and was a member of Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren in Lima. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include four sisters, Ruby Mihm and Isabelle (William) Houston, both of Lima, Helen Bennett of Ocala, Fla., and Mary Thitoff of Delphos.
Graveside services will conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sugar Creek Cemetery, with Pastor Marty Moyer of Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren officiating and military rites performed by the Delphos Veterans Council.
There will be no visitation.

DECKER
James E. Decker, 64, of Rockford, died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at his residence.
He was born October 14, 1938, in Paulding County, the son of the late Ward L. and Fay Afford (Stockberger) Decker. He was raised by his grandmother, the late Mary Ellen Decker Baer. On June 5, 1997, he married Barbara (Straley) Barnett, who survives. He is also survived by his former wife, Janice E. Decker of Van Wert.
Mr. Decker operated the Motor Inn Truck Stop at Mercer for 25 years and retired from MacDonald's Industrial Products in Spencerville. He was the owner of B&J Vending at the time of his death. He was active in Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert and was involved in Trinity Friends Disaster Services. He had attended Blue Creek (now Wayne Trace) High School near Haviland and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a former member of the Van Wert Moose Lodge and Rockford Eagles.
In addition to his wife and ex-wife, he is survived by a daughter, Julie Jones of Celina; two sons, Randy (Pam) Decker of Mercer and Todd (Sherry) Decker of Celina; two stepsons, John (Julie) Barnett of Wapakoneta and Shawn (Emily) Barnett of Willshire; one stepdaughter, Jenny Barnett of Dayton; a brother, Rex E. Decker of Bandera, Texas; two sisters, Geneva A. Ellis of Van Wert and Patricia J. Bryle of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 14 grandchildren, and two cousins, Lawrence "Bud" Decker and Ireta Hutchinson, both of Scott.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Decker, who died in infancy, and one sister, Almeda "Dee" Simpson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Neil Hammons officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, with military graveside rites by Harvey Lewis Post 346, American Legion, of Ohio City.
Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a memorial service will be conducted by Van Wert Navy Club Ship 726 at 8 p.m. Friday.
