ROYER
Helen E. Royer, 79, of Willshire, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Adams County Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Ind.
She was born July 24, 1924, in Adams County, Ind., the daughter of the late Luther and May (Trouter) Funk. On October 24, 1953, in Willshire, she married Marvin B. Royer, who died February 16, 1980.
Mrs. Royer retired in 1985 from General Electric Company after 42 years of service. She attended Pleasant Mills (Ind.) Baptist Church. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and was past senior regent. She also was a member of the General Electric Gecoda Club and the Quarter Century Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy S. (Bruce) Schug of Willshire; one brother, John C. Funk of Decatur, and two grandsons, Brian and Jeff Schug.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Royer, in 1989, and two brothers, Arthur and Ralph Funk.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. (EDT) Thursday, July 8, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, the Rev. Richard Sprunger officiating. Burial will be in Willshire Cemetery.
Calling hours are 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at the funeral home, where a Women of the Moose memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. that evening.

NEATE
Harry T. Neate, 89, of 15249 Greenville Road, Van Wert, died at 5:50 a.m. Monday, July 5, 2004, at Lincolnway Home near Middle Point.
He was born December 12, 1914, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late John William and Lillie (Butler) Neate. On February 19, 1938, he married Helen L. Ault, who survives.
Mr. Neate was a retired farmer and plowman who competed in several national plowing contests. He was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, where he had served as church trustee. He was a member of the Van Wert County Farm Bureau, Ohio Farmer's Union and Liberty and Pleasant granges. He hosted the Farm Focus program in 1989.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Roger L. (Pat) Neate and Ronald D. (Pamela) Neate, both of rural Van Wert; a brother, Orley Wayne Neate of Angola, Ind.; a sister, Doris Cramer of Edgerton; six grandchildren, Brent A. (Deb) Neate, Michele L. (Mark) McCleery, Aaron T. (Jessica) Neate, Adam S. Neate, Sean P. Neate and Shane W. Neate; four stepgrandchildren, Karla C. (Rick) Lamb, April M. DeMell, Bradley A. Maunz, Kyle D. (Connie) Maunz; five great-grandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren, and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence H. Neate, Ralph Franklin Neate and a brother who died in infancy; three sisters, Gladys Nolan, Ethel M. Bowmer and a sister who died in infancy; a grandson, Blaine Edward Neate, and one stepgrandson, Erick M. Maunz.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Chuck Glover officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

RIGDON
Lula C. Rigdon, 70, of Delphos, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born September 14, 1933, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Lela (Harris) Mullen. On December 20, 1954, she married Frank Rigdon, who survives in Delphos.
Mrs. Rigdon was retired from Chief Supermarket in Delphos, where she worked in the Deli Department. She was also a volunteer at the Interfaith Thrift Shop. She was a member of the Delphos American Legion Auxiliary and attended Delphos Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo and going to garage sales.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Franklin E. Rigdon of Tomah, Wis.; two daughters, Karen Rigdon of Van Wert and Vickie (Steven) Lause of Delphos; four sisters, Delilah Hannon of Luckey, Minnie Beougher of Celina and Mary Placke and Jan Colson, both of Medina, and two grandchildren, Chelsea Blair of Van Wert and Derek Lause of Delphos.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Mullen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, the Rev. Wayne Prater officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at the funeral home.

RADCLIFF
Daniel W. Radcliff, 82, of Convoy, died at 9 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born August 26, 1921, the son of the late Melvin and Myrtle (Arms) Radcliff. He married Mary J. Leonard, who died March 17, 2001.
Mr. Radcliff retired in 1980 as a truck driver for Kenosha Auto Transport in Fort Wayne, Ind. He attended Convoy United Brethren in Christ Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served four years in the South Pacific. He was the Golden Gloves lightweight boxing champion of Springfield at age 14 and was a former sheriff's deputy on mounted patrol for Van Wert and Fort Wayne sheriff's auxiliaries.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Shirley) Radcliff and Daniel (Ilene) Radcliff, both of Columbus; three daughters, Sharon (Dave) Boroff of Van Wert, Barbara Burgess of Convoy and Jeanetta of Springfield; two sisters, Peggy Hillman of Springifield and Roxie (James) Jordan of Dayton; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and his beloved companion, his dog, Teaka.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Orville, Isam, Lewis and Lamar Radcliff; two sisters, Vera Billings andViolet Radcliff, and a grandchild.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
There will be no visiting hours.

RUSSELL
Lavera V. "Vera" Russell, 82, of Van Wert, went home to be with her Lord at 10:25 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born December 23, 1921, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Isaac Jay and Flossie Viola (Mace) Young. On June 7, 1942, she married Warren L. Russell, who died November 19, 1998.
Mrs. Russell worked for many years at the G.C. Murphy Department Store and Downtown Drug Company, both in Van Wert. She attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert, where she was an active participant in the Seekers of Light Bible study group.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy A. Crawford and Barbara (Don) Blackmore, both of Van Wert, and Beverly (Tommy) Willingham of Howell, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Phyllis (William) Marques of Woburn, Mass.; one brother, Ervin Young of Van Wert; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; seven stepgrandchildren; 22 stepgreat-grandchildren, and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Luvester, Delmar and Theron Young; one grandchild; one stepgrandchild, and a stepgreat-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Neil Hammons officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

LESHER
Harry E. Lesher of Van Wert died at 5:49 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born in Phillipsburg, N.J., the son of the late George and Minnie (Crotsly) Lesher. He married Ruth J. Schaible, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Lesher was a retired engineer at the former Continental Can Company. He attended the Church of Christ in Spencerville. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Phillipsburg and was a 32nd Degree Mason who belonged to the Toledo Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Toledo Shrine.
Survivors include a son, Richard E. (Barbara) Lesher of Ocala, Fla.; two daughters, Marie R. (Charles) Violet of Spencerville and Jean C. (Gene) Wilson of Van Wert; one sister, Vivian Ruppel of Phillipsburg; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Family graveside rites will be held at a later date at Spencerville Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners' Hospitals.

PERMANN
Phyllis R. Permann, 67, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Harold and Olive Baldwin. She married Leroy Permann, who survives.
Mrs. Permann retired in 2000 after 30 years at The Farm Service Agency.
Other survivors include a son, Mark (Beth) Permann of Fort Wayne; one daughter, Julie Miller of Fort Wayne; a brother, Tom (Connie) Baldwin of New Haven, Ind., and grandchildren, Health and Chase Permann and Carly, Amy and Nick Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Highway 930 East, New Haven. Burial will be in Middle Creek Joint Cemetery in Paulding County.
Calling hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
