LYONS
Larry O. Lyons, 57, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and formerly of Payne, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, where he had been a patient for one week.
He was born November 15, 1947, in Paulding County, the son of Hilda M. (Zartman) Lyons, who survives in Payne, and the late Donald O. Lyons, who died in 1995.
Mr. Lyons was a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Vietnam War as an E-6 medic. He attended the Payne Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the American Legion in Fort Wayne.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Korey Lyons of Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Larry Lyons of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Tabitha Auriti of Columbia City, Ind., and four brothers, Charles (Janet) Lyons, Ray (Judy) Lyons and F. Emory (Margaret) Lyons, all of Payne, and David (Betsy) Lyons of South Milford, Ind.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at the Payne Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Mike Harper officiating. Burial will be in Wiltsie Cemetery in Payne, with military graveside rites performed by Payne American Legion Post 297.
Calling hours are from 2-9 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Slade Funeral Home in Payne and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

TURNER
Julia B. Turner, 96, of Van Wert and formerly of Upper Sandusky, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Convoy Care Center in Convoy.
She was born December 31, 1907, in Crane Township, Wyandot County, the daughter, of the late Martin J. and Mary (Von Blon) Courtad. On December 2, 1950, she married Perry W. Turner, who preceded her in death on July 1, 1968.
Mrs. Turner graduated from St. Vincent's School of Nursing in Toledo on June 16, 1929, and her lifelong career as a registered nurse ranged from duties as county health nurse, tuberculosis sanitarium nurse and years of service at Van Wert County Hospital on the obstetrics floor. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert.
Survivors include a son, Gary A. Turner of Columbus; one daughter, Sheila (Thomas) Deal of Wren; a brother, Don M. (Helen) Courtad of Upper Sandusky, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, and four sisters.
A private family graveside service will take place in Hueston Cemetery in Forest.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements were handled by Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert.
FUERST
Norbert A. Fuerst, 74, of Delphos, died at 9:07 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born February 19, 1930, in Allen County, the son of the late John P. and Elizabeth (Rode) Fuerst. On July 11, 1951, he married Betty Joan Klaus, who survives in Delphos.
Mr. Fuerst worked at a sheet metal manufacturer, New Delphos Manufacturing, and The Delphos Herald. He was a member of St. John the Evangelistic Catholic Church and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3035 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471, all in Delphos. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, Country music and visiting friends around town.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Gordon (Helen) Fuerst of Dayton, Richard (Carole) Fuerst of Minster, Louis (Ann) Fuerst of Findlay and Roger Fuerst of Delphos; three daughters, Judith (James) Looser of Ottoville, Constance (Mark) Buettner of Elida and Elaine (Mark) Abram of Delphos; a sister, Martha Kramer of Van Wert; one brother, Eugene (Dorothy) Fuerst of Lima; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Fuerst of Delphos; 16 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Fuerst; one brother, Richard Fuerst; a daughter, Denise Fuerst, and a great-grandson, Nicholas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at St. John the Evangelistic Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Delphos.
Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. Friday, June 4, and from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Harter & Son Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Friday and a veterans memorial service conducted by the Delphos Veterans Council at 7:30 that evening.

DICKREDE
Nanette Renee Dickrede, 38, of Delphos, died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at her residence.
She was born August 17, 1965, in St. Marys, the daughter of Ruth (Merriman) Snyder-McGlothen, who survives in St. Marys, and the late Fred D. Snyder.
On July 6, 1996, she married Duane Michael Dickrede, who survives at home.
Mrs. Dickrede worked at the Union Bank Company in Delphos. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Delphos and was a dedicated mother and wife who lived for her family.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by two sons, Jason M. Smith and Tyler L. Dickrede, both of Delphos; a daughter, Jamie M. Smith of Delphos; three brother, Brad Snyder of Toledo and Scott (Claudette) Snyder and TJ (Ammy) Snyder, both of St. Marys, and a maternal grandmother, Goldie Merriman of St. Marys.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Alfred and Margaret Snyder, and her maternal grandfather, Robert Dale Merriman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Delphos, the Rev. William Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
Calling hours are 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Friday, June 25, at Harter & Son Funeral Home in Delphos and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

RYAN
Patrick Joseph "Pat" Ryan, 74, of Monticello, Ga., died early Thursday morning, June 10, 2004, at the Rockdale County Hospital in Conyers, Ga.
He was born December 2, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Michael and Alice (Lawler) Ryan. In August 1952, he married Agnes O'Rourke, who preceded him in death in 1987. He then married Emily DeLoach, and she survives at home.
Mr. Ryan was retired from Central Insurance Companies in Van Wert as vice president of claims. He was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and regularly supported all the activities of the church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Patrick (Dianne) Ryan of Van Wert and James Ryan of Naples, Fla.; two daughters, Elizabeth (Mark) Matthews of Beaver Creek and Cathy (Rodger) Hoffman of Van Wert; three brothers, John (Mildred) Ryan of Bridgewater, N.J., Michael Ryan of Hilton Head, S.C., and Tom (Burnadette) Ryan of Leonia, N.J.; seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by an infant sister.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 14, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Jackson, Ga., with Monsignor Terry Young, celebrant, Father Austin Fogerty, homolist, and Hilton Brooks, eulogist. A memorial service will also be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 17, at Alspach Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with military graveside rites conducted by the combined honor guards of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.
There will be calling hours from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at Sherrell, Wilson, Mangham Funeral Home in Jackson, Ga., and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, at Alspach Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert.

DAVIS
Lester L. "Lee" Davis, 88, of Venedocia, died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Van Wert Manor nursing home in Van Wert.
He was born September 8, 1915, in Van Wert County, the son of the late James and Hattie (Hundley) Davis.
Mr. Davis was a township employee.
Survivors include a sister, Lucille Zent of Markle, Ind.; one brother, Garland G. (Billy) Davis of Venedocia, and three sisters-in-law, Linda, Jessie and Helen Davis.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, Harold, Earl and Elroy Davis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, the Rev. Wendy Pratt of Salem United Presbyterian Church in Venedocia officiating. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery.
Calling hours are 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

WALLIS
Erma L. Wallis, 77, of Convoy, died Thursday evening, June 10, 2004, at her residence.
She was born May 30, 1927, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Herbert and Esther (Gribler) Oechsle. On September 5, 1944, she married Elton E. Wallis, who died January 1, 2003.
Mrs. Wallis had worked at Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert for 30 years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Van Wert County and has also belonged to American Legion Auxiliary 178 in Van Wert.
Survivors include two sons, Robert (Diana) Wallis and David (Kim) Wallis, both of Convoy; a daughter, Peggy Sue Wallis of Van Wert; three sisters, Barbara (Chris) Reichert of Van Wert, Sondra (Roger) Clayton of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Linda (Mike) Henkle of Rockford; 15 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marlin and Lowell "Whitey" Oechsle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 14, at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at the funeral home.
