HUMBERT
Dorothy L. Humbert, 78, of Rockford, died at 1 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, where she had been a patient for the past week.
She was born January 26, 1926, in Blackcreek Township in Mercer County, the daughter of the late J. Homer and Leona (Baker) Carr. On February 15, 1948, she married Robert E. Humbert, who survives at home.
Mrs. Humbert was a homemaker and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Chattanooga, as well as a member of the church's women's organization (WELCA).
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Larry (Debbie) Humbert of New Philadelphia; two daughters, Diane (Ted) Rich of Berne, Ind., and Rita Kaye (Craig) Ripley of Willshire; one brother, Leland (Colleen) Carr of Paulding; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kathleen Carr.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 25, at Zion Lutheran Church in Chattanooga, with Pastor Randall Swanson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.

BENNETT
Dennis R. "Dutch" Bennett, 66, of Hamilton, Ind., died at 11:06 p.m. (EST) Monday, June 21, 2004, at Cameron Hospital in Angola, Ind.
He was born August 28, 1937, in Haviland, the son of the late Doven Maxwell "Max" and Jenny Pauline (Cavinder) Bennett. On November 17, 1962, he married Jo Ann Slusser, who survives at home.
Mr. Bennett retired after 30 years of service as a machinist at Zollner Corporation in Fort Wayne, Ind. He attended Hamilton Wesleyan Church in Hamilton and had served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Mike (Tara) Bennett of Hamilton and Mitch (Michele) Bennett of Grover Hill; two daughters, Sherry Adkins of Broughton and Bernadette Bennett of Grover Hill; a brother, Gary (Rose) Bennett of Payne; one stepbrother, Devon Joe (Theresa) Lehman of Haviland; three sisters, Garnet Roush of Wadsworth, Delores Gosik of Clyde and D'Nell (Paul) Edwards of Haviland; a stepsister, Darlene (Fred) Stroman of Fresno, Calif., and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Bennett and two daughters, Sharon and Karen Bennett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 25, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Dave Leitzel officiating. Burial will be in Middlecreek Cemetery in Grover Hill, with graveside military rites provided by American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Thursday, June 24, and also an hour prior to the services Friday at the funeral home.

HOFFMAN
Kathryne Anne Hoffman, 83, of Carolina Village and formerly of Hendersonville, N.C., died Monday, June 21, 2004, at Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital in Hendersonville.
A native of Venedocia, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Catherine (Uhl) Davies. She was married to Harold E. Hoffman, her husband of 59 years, who survives at home.
Mrs. Hoffman was a loving and caring wife, mother and friend. She had lived in Tenafly, N.J., and Stamford, Conn., prior to moving to Hendersonville 19 years ago. She had been an administrative assistant for the Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest, N.J., for 10 years. She had been a member of the Presbyterian Church in Ohio, New Jersey and Connecticut and was currently a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville; She was also a member of PEO International.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, David E. (Marlene) Hoffman of Cumming, Ga., and Douglas L. (Carol) Hoffman of Jenison, Mich.; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with burial to follow in Venedocia Cemetery.

FLEMING
Helen Beatrice Fleming, 81, of Van Wert, died at 3:20 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2004, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born September 21, 1922, in Hazard, Ky., the daughter of the late William Mitchell and Parrie (Simpson) Gampher. She married Glenn Fleming, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Fleming retired from the Federal-Mogul Corporation's National Seal Division plan in Van Wert. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert.
Survivors include two sons, Wendell (Margot) Williams of El Paso, Texas, and Chester (Karen) Fleming of Celina; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and one close nephew, Frank Collier.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Brady Gampher, and one sister, Ruby Collier.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Clark Williman officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 8, at the funeral home.

KLUTKA
Hannah J. Klutka, 77, of Van Wert, died at 5:25 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2004, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
She was born January 30, 1927, in Fairmont, W.Va., the daughter of the late William E. and Ocie Zoe (Bunner) Clem. On March 3, 1946, she married Nicholas Klutka, who died April 2, 2003.
Mrs. Klutka had worked in Veterans Services at the Van Wert County Courthouse for 10 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert and was active in the church. She was an avid bridge player and had sung for a short time with the Sweet Adelines barbershop group in Van Wert.
Survivors include two sons, Max Klutka of Ontario, Canada, and Mike (Michelle) Klutka of Van Wert; a daughter, Kerry Klutka of Santa Fe, N.M.; two brothers, Jim (Jessie) Clem of Van Wert and Bobbie (Nancy) Clem of Middlebourne, W.Va.; two sisters, Helen O'Connor of Columbus and Willa (Bob) VanGilder of Fairmont, W.Va., and five grandchildren, Ian Wengs and Justin, Rita, Nicole and Jordan Klutka.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Bill Clem.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 2, at First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Dr. Edward Jillson officiating. Burial will be in Bunner Ridge Cemetery in Fairmont, W.Va.
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.

PUTMAN
Ima Rebecca Ann Putman, 78, of Van Wert, died at 3:55 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2004, in Blacklick.
She was born June 7, 1926, in West Unity, the daughter of the late Dale Millard and Rachel Hope (Beek) Smith. On September 8, 1946, she married Harold R. Putman, who survives at home.
Mrs. Putman was a wife, mother, daughter and sister. She also belonged to First United Methodist Church in Van Wert.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Gary R. Putman of West Seattle, Wash.; one daughter, Rebecca Ann (Fritz) Neuenschwander of Blacklick, and three brothers, Dale L. Smith Jr. of Chula Vista, Calif., and Franklin D. (Donna) Smith Sr. and Frederick W. (Clara) Smith, both of Van Wert.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene M. Smith and Lyle M. Smith, and a sister, Iris Hope Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

MOX
Louise F. Mox, 92, of Delphos, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, June 27, 2004, at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.
She was born September 1, 1911, in Fort Jennings, the daughter of the late George M. and Barbara Anne (Geckel) Moore. On November 20, 1934, she married Edward M. Mox, who died January 30, 1997.
Mrs. Mox was a private duty registered nurse. She was Tri-County "Woman of the Year," a volunteer at the American Red Cross blood bank for many years, sewed clothes for Good Hope Circle and helped with funeral dinners at church. She graduated from Delphos Jefferson High School and from Good Samaritan in Dayton as an R.N.
Survivors include two sons, Edward George (Rose Mary) Mox of Holland (Ohio) and James M. (Mary) Mox of Delphos; a daughter, Ann L. Rice of Palmetto, Fla.; one sister, Irene Stober of Ada; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Moore, and three sisters, Beulah Reynolds, Elnora Snyder and Ruth Stewart.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Delphos, with the Rev. William Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
Calling hours are 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
