MOZINGO
Carol Ann Mozingo, 43, of Homestead Village in Van Wert, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at her residence.
She was born December 6, 1960, in Van Wert, the daughter of Richard Samuel Mozingo, who survives in Canton, and Peggy Ann (Deal) Mozingo, who also survives, in Delphos. She never married.
Other survivors include a sister, Corrinna Amweg of Convoy; one nephew, James Pancake, and a niece, Amy Dennis.
Private services will be held at the family's convenience. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements were made by Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert.
ROWLAND
Beulah Rowland, 88, of 15921 Ohio 709, Ohio City, died at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born June 14, 1915, in Washington Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Clifford E. and Hazel (Ringwald) Stiverson. On December 2, 1934, she married John Carlton Rowland, who died November 28, 1995.
Mrs. Rowland worked in the Ohio City-Liberty School cafeteria and retired in 1975 with 31 years of service. She was a lifetime member of Ohio City United Methodist Church and a 1933 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School. She also was a member and past matron of Hyler Chapter 4320, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Donald Chaney of Portage, Mich.; a granddaughter, Dawn Cowels of Kalamazoo, Mich.; three great-grandchildren, Eric, Tyler and Cassie Cowels, and three nieces, Jane Hoerst of Indianapolis, Ind., Joan Smith of GlenEllyn, Ill., and Ann Harp of Pickerington.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Ann Chaney, who died March 28, 1996; a brother, Bill Stiverson, and a grandson, Shawn Chaney, who died October 15, 1999.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 18, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Paul W. Miller and Pastor Mike Waldron officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at the funeral home.

PENNINGTON
Martha E. Pennington, 82, of Paulding, died at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Hawthorn Court Nursing Home in Paulding, where she had been a patient for three weeks.
She was born December 22, 1921, in Michigan, the daughter of the late Fenton and Laura (Scott) Doty. On March 3, 1959, in Kalamazoo, Mich., she married Marvin E. Pennington, who died December 30, 1989.
Mrs. Pennington was a cook at Hawthorn Court Nursing Home and also was a cook for the former Kaufman's Restaurant and Paulding County Home, both in Paulding. She attended Lost Creek Emannuel Missionary Church in Farmer.
Survivors include seven sons, Jeremy Kennedy of Bryan, Marvin D. (Connie) Hagerman and Richard Pennington, both of Wahoo, Neb., and Larry Wright, Terry Wright, Michael Pennington and Greg Pennington, all of Paulding; six daughters, Susan Negley of Nebraska, Carol (Dave) Pilmore of Pioneer, Sandra Schroeder of Montpelier, Cheryl Kennedy of Paulding, Dawn Bakle of Defiance and Erica (Todd) Crowl of Hicksville; 33 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Virgil, Floyd, Arthur and Chester Doty; a sister, Francis Butcher, and one grandson, Kenneth Pennington.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, at First Presbyterian Church in Paulding, with the Rev. Max Masters officiating. Burial will be in Paulding Memorial Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.

HOLTSBERRY
Isabelle P. Holtsberry, 78, of Paulding, died at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the residence of her son in Westerville after an extended illness.
She was born August 3, 1925, in Sherwood, the daughter of the late Alonzo "Lonnie" and Lois D. (Franklin) Freshwater. On December 25, 1945, in Paulding, she married Robert F. Holtsberry, who survives.
Mrs. Holtsberry was the case manager for agents at the Paulding County Department of Human Services for 32 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of First Christian Church of Paulding and its Christian Women's Fellowship. She had belonged to the former Paulding Corona Chapter 95, Order of Eastern Star and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 587 Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2405 Auxiliary, both of Paulding.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Robert L. (Ann) Holtsberry of Westerville and Dennis Holtsberry of Coco Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Linda (Holtsberry) Begley of Windermere, Fla.; two brothers, DeWain F. Freshwater of Paulding and Larry A. Freshwater of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Donna Jean (Russell) Flint of Paulding; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Freshwater, and one sister, Lola Laukhuf.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at First Christian Church in Paulding, with Robert L. Holtsberry officiating. Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery in Paulding.
Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. Friday, March 19, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

MOSIER
Alma F. Mosier, 79, of Grover Hill, died at 3:18 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born April 26, 1924, in Dupont, the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruby (Matson) McClish. On April 26, 1946, she married Charles A. Mosier, who survives at home.
Mrs. Mosier was a homemaker and a former member of Bethel United Methodist Church, until it closed, and is currently a member of First Baptist Church in Van Wert.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Charles Junior (Betty) Mosier and Carl W. (Carolyn) Mosier, both of Grover Hill; two daughters, Shirley (Dave) Dawson of Wapakoneta and Brenda (Dan) Nantz of Grover Hill; a sister, Phyllis (Tom) Tegenkamp of Dupont; one sister-in-law, Florence McClish of Elida; 11 grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cloris and Gene McClish; two sisters, Evelyn Rummel and Zada Dorsett, and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, March 15, at First Baptist Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Steve A. Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Defiance.
Calling hours are 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 14, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, and 9:30-10 a.m. Monday at the church.

BAKER
James Russell Baker, 70, of 326 S. Race St., Van Wert, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, at his residence.
He was born January 14, 1934, in Latty Township, Paulding County, the son of the late Roy G. and Helen Marie (Balliet) Baker. On June 25, 1966, he married Carolyn S. Myers, who survives at home.
Mr. Baker retired from Uniroyal Goodrich in Woodburn, Ind. He was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. He had also been involved in the Boys Brigade and Bus ministries. He was a 1952 graduate of Latty High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps (1954-56). He enlisted in the Buckeye Buddy program.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jonathan R. (Melinda) Baker of Columbus; three daughters, Sara (Mike) Daugherty of Minnesota, Martha (William) Graves of Middlebury, Ind., and Joanna "Joni" (Rev. John) Pierce of Salem (Ohio); a brother, Carlos J. (Cheryl) Baker of Van Wert; two sisters, Betty (Earl) Burgoon of Haviland and Dorothy (Larry) Sidle of Van Wert; 11 grandchildren, Megan, Kristen and Kylie Wood, Michael Graves, Brianna and Aaron Gribble, Jordan, Joshua and Julia Pierce and Genna and Chris Daugherty.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin Baker and Donald Baker, in infancy, and a sister, Mabel L. Black.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, at Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, with Pastors Neil Hammons, Raymond E. Feeck and John Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Cooper Cemetery in Paulding Township, Paulding County.

NEUBRECHT
Donald R. Neubrecht, 84, formerly of Van Wert County, died at 10:35 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Otterbein Cridersville Retirement Community in Cridersville.
He was born July 19, 1919, in Van Wert County, the son of the late David and Maude (Richards) Neubrecht. On January 5, 1944, he married Mary Pauline Haines, who survives in St. Marys.
Mr. Neubrecht had worked in Detroit, Mich., for four years and then farmed in Van Wert County for 40 years until his retirement in 1982. He had been a member of the former Ridge United Methodist Church and had served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He was active in 4-H as a youth and later as a club advisor. He served a year on the Ohio State Junior Fair Board. He was a Jackson Township trustee for four years, a member of the Van Wert County Fair Board for 15 years and served on the Van Wert County Hospital Board of Trustees for nine years. He was an Otterbein-St. Marys Advisory Board member for six years and also was a member of American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Maxine Prichard of Van Wert and Marguerite Konkle of Richland, Wash., and several nieces and nephews, including Virginia "Jenny" DeWitt of Edmond, Okla.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Phil Mercer officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Ridge Township.
Calling hours are from 4-6 p.m. Monday, March 15, at the funeral home.
