RAMSEY
Philip M. Ramsey, 50, of Greenville, died at 9:50 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, at Convoy Care Center.
He was born July 1, 1953, in Van Wert, the son of L. Maynard and Wilma (Purk) Ramsey, both of whom survive in Convoy.
Mr. Ramsey was manager of the Sherwin-Williams Paint Store in Greenville for the past 18 years and had worked for Sherwin-Williams for 30 years. He was a recipient of the Sherwin-Williams President's Award five different years. He was a graduate of Crestview High School and Owens Community College, where he majored in retail management. He was a past president of the Van Wert Area Jaycees and a former assistant Boy Scout leader. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a dear friend, Roberta Fair of Gettysburg (Ohio); one son, Preston Ramsey of Greenville; a sister, Beth (Michael A.) Conn of Van Wert, and two nephews, Jared and Tony Conn of Van Wert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 2, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy, with the Rev. Jan Berthinee officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.

LINDEMAN
Paul R. Lindeman, 57, of Van Wert, died at 5:20 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, at his residence.
He was born January 10, 1947, in Delphos, the son of the late Edwin and Lela (Putnam) Lindeman. On July 23, 1972, he married Betty Adams, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Lindeman retired from General Motors and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and loved his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Jeremy (April Hall) Lindeman, Darren Lindeman, Greg Lindeman and Paul (Denella) Lindeman, all of Van Wert; two daughters, Michelle (Tom) Reyes of Paulding and Tonya (Bob) Panning of Grover Hill; three sisters, Donna Williamson of Van Wert, Carol (Bob) Maloney of Middle Point and JoAnn (Dick) Roberts of Spencerville; three brothers, Larry (Joyce) Lindeman and Gerald (Kay) Lindeman, both of Delphos, and Jim (Sue) Lindeman of Ohio City, and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Lindeman; four brothers, Kenny, Carl, Donald and Edwin Lindeman, and three sisters, Imogene Joseph, Dorthy Williams and Marilyn Martin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, the Rev. Tim Burden officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with military graveside rites performed by the Delphos Veterans Council.
Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at the funeral home.

WOODRUFF
Dovie Woodruff, 73, of Cairo and formerly of Delphos, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born November 21, 1930, in Dione, Ky., the daughter of the late Delbert and Minnie (Fields) Sargent. In 1954, she married Lewis "Woody" Woodruff, who died in 1989.
Mrs. Woodruff retired from I & K Distributors in Delphos in 1990.
Survivors include three sons, Ronnie (Georganna) Jones of Logan, Lewie (Judi) Woodruff of Chillicothe and Calvin (Judy) Woodruff of Oakwood; a daughter, Rhonda (Johnny) Butler of Cairo; one sister, Dorothy Creech of LaFollette, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra K. Woodruff, and one brother, Orville Sargent.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, the Rev. James Wright Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
Calling hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at the funeral home.

PLACE
Helen Leah Place, 84, of Delphos, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born September 16, 1919, in Defiance, the daughter of the late Roy and Augusta (Schultz) Marckel. On August 5, 1940, she married George C. Place, who survives in Delphos.
Mrs. Place worked at Myer's Cleaners and Pangles and Chief's supermarkets as a cashier. She also was a co-owner and bookkeeper at Place Auto Parts. She was a 1937 graduate of Defiance High School and placed third in the state in an academic contest held that year. She was a member of Delphos Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Duane (Pam) Place of Maumee, Bill Place of Cridersville and Lewis (Paulette) Place of Delphos; two daughters, Linda (Dan) Klausing of Oviedo, Fla., and Carol Place of Van Wert; eight grandchildren, Angie Bonifas, Dan Place, Shawn Place, Eric Place, Kevin Place, Stephanie Klausing, Matt Klausing and Rachel Place, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred McBride and Doris Place.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 2, at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, the Rev. Wayne Prater officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at the funeral home.

BAKER
Francis D. Baker, 90, of Convoy, died at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Van Wert Manor nursing home in Van Wert.
He was born February 6, 1914, in Paulding County, the son of the late John Andrew and Minnie T. (Hover) Baker. He first married Norma A. Dibert, who died in 1972. He then married Lois I. (Feasby) Myers on March 12, 1974, and she survives at home.
Mr. Baker was a machinist, a farmer in Tully Township and retired from Payne Equity grain elevator. He was a member of Sugar Ridge Church of God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William D. (Veena) Baker of Fremont, Calif.; one daughter, Betty J. (Albert) Taylor of rural Van Wert; two stepdaughters, Bonita (Ollen) Jones and Judy Motycka, both of Convoy; two stepsons, Tommy A. Myers of Paulding and Gerald Gene Myers of Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Harry E. (Marjorie) Baker; one sister, Wilda I. Myers of Monroeville, Ind.; two grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 23 stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda J. Thompson, in 1971; three brothers, Roy I. Baker, Delmar H. Baker and Russell S. Baker, and three sisters, Myrtle M. Feasby, Nellie J. Beezley and Dorothy M. Gibson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, at Cowan & Son Stainfield Memorial Home in Convoy, the Rev. Steven G. Waterman officiating. Burial will be in Lehman Cemetery in Benton Township, Paulding County.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

STANT
David M. Stant, 54, of Van Wert, died at 10:10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, at his residence.
He was born January 28, 1950, in Lima, the son of the late Charles and Genevieve (Ellerbrock) Stant.
Mr. Stant currently worked at Marsh Supermarket as night stock manager.
Survivors include a special friend, Christina Doster; two sons, Alan M. (Michelle) Stant and Christopher Paul (Tracy) Stant, both of Van Wert; five brothers, Charles (Nancy) Stant Jr., Richard (Karen) Stant and Robert Stant, all of Delphos, James Stant of Lima and Gerold (Carol) Stant of Phoenix, Ariz.; four sisters, Barbara (Jerome) Miller of Kalida, Patricia Mell of Lima, Janet Phillips of Middle Point and LaDonna (Charles) Kesler of Delphos, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael David Stant; one brother, Willard Stant, and two sisters, Mary Phillips and Sierra Sue Stant.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, March 8, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Edward Donnal officiating.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

BONHAM
V. Ralph Bonham, 69, of Van Wert, died at 6:36 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born October 29, 1934, in Jonesville, Va., the son of Harve and Alafair (Wells) Bonham.
Mr. Bonham was employed at Thomas Edison Workshop in Van Wert and attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert.
Survivors include a brother, Glen (Rita) Bonham of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four sisters, Vera Johnson of Oxnard, Calif., Clara (George) Watson of Detroit, Mich., Delma Adams of Brownsville, Texas, and Reba (Jim) Robey of Van Wert; seven nieces, and 12 nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Bonham.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Kenyon Kaehr officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 1 p.m. until the time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
